I love, love, love my 2018 Accord 2.0 Touring. Unbelievably quick for a family sedan and so much fun to drive. Hard to come up with any negatives at all. I highly recommend this car to anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to the German imports. You won't be giving up much at all.
Good presentation, enjoyed your comments. I own a 2018 Accord EXL with the 2.0 T and have been driving it for 19 months now. Rides nice, handles great, and is fun to drive. Have that exact vehicle for almost a year now with very few complaints. The ACC DID save me a serious accident as I nodded off at the end of along trip and as the vehicle drifted over the left lane line near the barrier the steering wheel vibrated and nudged me back into the lane as the vibration woke me up. Honda includes all the available safety features standard in most of their vehicles which is why I bought it. Other mfrs charge extra for the different suites of safety features. Have no use for the paddle shifters but the sport mode does give me another interesting way to drive and the response is definitely noticible.
There are still people interested in sedans. Why not? If I were you, I would've bluntly asked: Is Ford seriously killing them off? (All talk no knowledge, Ford. Claiming that you are "saving them" by ditching the lineup automatically makes you lose.)
There is another way to open the trunk....the back seat window area has a compartment that you pop open and insert your key to pop open the trunk for emergency 2.0T
My choice would be the excellent 2.0T Sport Manual. This infotainment is so excellent with all the tactile buttons and volume and tuning dials. I wish they would put that in all Honda vehicles.
Let alone the overdone styling that I can't seem to get past by, I would say that Honda has done great for the vast majority with the new Accord. Though as a bargain, for nearly $40K or so, I can buy something like a Toyota Avalon or a Kia Cadenza (and I still don't care about the Nissan Maxima... extremely overrated car). Which, both undeniably, do better for not that much more money (let alone that those cars are in a higher league than an Accord, Camry, Mazda6, Altima, just to name a few). Unless if you're not interested in a full-size sedan that is, then something like the Accord, Camry, Mazda6, Altima etc may satisfy your needs. Although a fully loaded Avalon Touring would my pick between it and the Cadenza (and no denying even versus the Accord, Camry, Mazda6, Altima etc)

I still wouldn't trade my 2016 Honda Accord Sport crystal black pearl for this. The 2016 Accord was the last model in my opinion the best one made besides the 94-97 year both some of the best body lines.
What, no B.O.B Ironman stoller, w/the fixed front wheel? Also surprised the carseat doesn't have a base or is it in the other vehicle? Is that how the seatbelt is supposed to go; granted its been 7 years since I've used a rear facing seat...So what were the 5 reasons again - engine/10spd trans?, trunk space?, AA/ACP?, steering wheel controls?, back seat room?, high MSRP?

Great blog as always! Your review help me buy the Honda Accord I test drove the Camry xse v6 the Mazda 6 signature went to Nissan when I found out they're still using the world the worst CVT walked out of the dealership. The reason for buying the Accord is I wanted to build a sleeper there is no aftermarket tuning support for the Mazda or the Toyota Kent Toyota using the antiquated 3.5 v6 that does not handle is good it is slower and heavier. I chose the sport 200 with the 10-speed automatic because that is quicker than the manual even though the manual is more fun to drive anyways I put a k pro tuner on my car a PRL intercooler front pipe mid pipe downpipe 3in exhaust well over 400 horsepower and 400 foot pounds of torqueI just put e85 on my car so I'm going to get it recalibrated. Thank Obama and the EPA, new regs basically ban anything above a 4 cylinder in cars. Thank God Trump canned the ones that would have banned anything but hybrids
Thanks for the revue. As an owner of the car, I'd like to add that the lane keep assist will do more than vibrating when going over the lines. It will actually keep you centered in your lane, if the lines are well marked and the turns not too steep. Also, system activates above 45mph
The 2.0T isn't affected by those issues. And weirdly the Accord 1.5T is almost not affected. There's been one or two here and there. Not anything like how bad it's been for the CR-V. Research it. Check Carcomplaints.
Well it do depends on size vehicle you likes. It are not that one are better than other one, they both is not bad cars. If you needs more big size, go for crv. If you wants sportier and smaller, go then for accord.
The 2.0t you will have worse MPG by 10% to 20% versus the 1.5t LE. Of course, you won't get all the goodies but you will pay $8 to $10 Grand more. It depends on what you want.
Luckily the 2.0T doesn't have that issue. What I can't figure out is why it's so much worse on the CR-V than other models with the 1.5T. What do you think? I genuinely want to know what you think, I've seen your videos on the problem.
The last gen accord was quite nice minus the stupid electronic shifter and this new one is confusingly hideous I’m not sure what Honda designers feel asleep lol 😂.
83 dislikes from people who only see the rear end of the Accord because their GM/Ford/Hyundai PoS can’t do 0-60 in 5.5s . They see the rear end and troll about how ugly it is lol because they never get a side or front view of the Accord
The car is amazing and yea in pictures it doesn’t lookattractive but when I saw it in person the car is sexy af but if you comparing the design to Mazda 6 so yea the Mazda looks much better
One reason NOT to buy is the super low stance (meaning super low roof line - meaning very low overall height of the Accord). The Accord is way to low. Low stance means hard to get in and out of, poor visibility (bad for safety), and other cars/SUV's will tower over you in traffic (not a good feeling).. Nice car if you are a midget or dwarf - not a good car if you're over about 5' 4".. If Honda would have raised height of the car about five to six inches, this would be much better. Another thing car companies need to get rid of the infotainment systems/built in tablets.. Just go back to traditional (European style) instrument cluster (like regular dial type tacho and speedo) and controls (like wonderful over sized knobs). Easier, simple and work (and look) better.. Much safer and easier to use manual traditional controls than fool around with a touch screen display while trying to drive. Also Honda get rid of the super low profile tires - they make the Accord even lower and make the ride worse. Man.. Honda goofed up many things.. No wonder sales for the Accord are down.
As a 6’2” owner of a 2018 Accord, I don’t understand any of the issues you seem to have with the ride height. The tach and speedometer are regular. And there’s nothing difficult about the screen controls. I will at least agree about the tires... I think the wheel diameter should be 1” smaller. I’ve driven a few generations of the Accord now, and this is easily the best.
@@mikecarroll5980 Congrats on your 2018 Accord.. Yea.. I do like most of the Accord. But Don't like the low profile tires.. and don't like the very low height of the vehicle. I just have to sit up much higher than you can in the Accord (why I drive a SUV). But I like the dashboard/instrument cluster of the Accord.. I like a much more traditional dashboard layout. I personally think these day cars are trying to do way too much with built in touch screen/tablets in the dash. Manual traditional controls (large knobs, etc) are easier and safer to control things when driving down the road at 70 mph. Don't let my preferences take away from you enjoying your new Accord.. You've worked hard to buy your Accord and you should enjoy it.
I am 6'5 and have the 18 accord and fit in it incredibly. No height issues at all. My knee does hit the center console while driving but that it literally it
@@Saimyoshu Ok.. Sounds good.. I am sure YOU fit into the car. I am saying the car itself from the ground to the top of the car (roofline) is very short. They probably lowered the seat so taller people can fit. The overall height of the Accord is about 57 inches. That is the lowest Accord ever. I wish the overall height were about 61" or 63" .. The car would then sit up higher for better visibility and I think make the car more comfortable and less cramped (and easier to get in and out of). A lot of SUVs have a overall height of at least 66 inches.. So you sit up higher which is what I prefer..
@@howlingwolf125y I see what you're saying. I have no issues getting in and out of the car and I even have a titanium cage in my back from my tailbone to my neck so i have no flexibility and am completely stiff and can get in and out easier. Me and my wife were looking for an SUV and when we just got into the accord for fun and drove it we were surprised by how incredible it was inside and drove. The height is not bad at all compared to an SUV, yea they are higher but it wasnt as significant as we both thought it would be. They ride quite high for the most part. We would still like to be higher like in an SUV but this was something we could look past because everything else was perfect. There is so much space in the car its incredible and I have a family of 2 kids me and my wife. All of whom are pretty tall. My kids got my height and theyre tall as heck for 6 and 2 years. We all fit way better than expected and there is a ton of room up front and in back for even me to have more than enough leg room. If you ever get a chance, go test drive one, They are COMPLETELY Different than the reviews potray them and they look 1000% better in real life. I am completely serious.

It's a great car especially the Touring! Gratz on being a new father!
Hi from Vancouver BC
It's time for Everybabies Driver segment 😀
Excellent “Old School” reference.
I love that car i currently have a 2008 accord exl wpuld love to upgrade soon
Keep the 2008. Forever. Trust me.
Congrats!!!! Dads RULE!!! I'll be a daddy in 6 months. Good review
Congratulations, who's the father?
Congrats!!!
Where’s the At&t Hotspot? The Touring should have that.
5.5 seconds? Wow that's almost type R fast
Constantine Joseph it has the type R engine that’s why
+10 internet points for the movie reference kind sir.
I got one reason why you shouldn’t buy one. Oil dilution.
Luckily the 2.0T doesn't have that issue. What I can't figure out is why it's so much worse on the CR-V than other models with the 1.5T. What do you think? I genuinely want to know what you think, I've seen your videos on the problem.
Nice looking except for the hatchback look to the rear passenger/trunk area. Sort of Dodge Barracuda circa 1968 looking.
This father forgot to put the base for the child rear facing seat 🤦♂️... you can tell he’s new to being a dad lmao
and one reason not to buy! bad credit and no money
I don’t know I’ll ever buy another Honda!!. Oil consumption is bothersome for me! My 2010 Accord consumes 2 qts if not more on 2 k miles..
Dave Erickson is the most fit youtube car journalist BAR NONE.
Depends on how you define 'fit' :-)
The last gen accord was quite nice minus the stupid electronic shifter and this new one is confusingly hideous I’m not sure what Honda designers feel asleep lol 😂.
Just bought this car I fkn love it sooooo much
I appreciate your feedback.
83 dislikes from people who only see the rear end of the Accord because their GM/Ford/Hyundai PoS can’t do 0-60 in 5.5s . They see the rear end and troll about how ugly it is lol because they never get a side or front view of the Accord
Nice .... " old school " movie reference
Nice Old School reference
The car is amazing and yea in pictures it doesn’t lookattractive but when I saw it in person the car is sexy af but if you comparing the design to Mazda 6 so yea the Mazda looks much better
I liked their Pilot's 3.5L V6. That is in the new 2019 Honda Passport!
I am eyeing that one too.
Still love my V6 Accord. 3.5 liter versus 2.0?? Please...
