Just want to say thank you! I watched your video 3 months ago and finished Saga, Deadly Class and Lonely. Saga and Deadly Class are my favorite graphic novels!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
As someone who has been following you since Collider Heroes, it's been so nice seeing you champion Saga these last couple of years. It's been my favorite on-going graphic novel since 2015. My favorite Image comics, beside Saga, is of course Invincible (so glad the adaptation has brought new readers to that story!), East of West and Descender. Descender is such a beautiful story that reminds of me being a kid, plus the artwork is stunning! Oh, also Alex + Ada is a nice contained little sci-fi story that I still remember years after I've read it. Sadly I didn't like Sex Criminals, but I'm adding It's lonely at the centre of the earth to my to be read pile! Loved this video Coy, keep them coming!
I'm about 1/2 way through Saga & it's sooo good. And the artwork is gorgeous 😍. I'm gonna have to check out some of the other titles, always looking for new comics to enjoy. Thanks Coy!!
I picked up saga based off your love for it a year or so ago and thank you sir for that because it is definitely one of the best things I’ve ever experienced.
Department of Truth is amazing indeed! I also LOVE Something is Killing the Children, Tynion IV is the best! I love his Batman run but his Image stuff is also great! I also really enjoyed Crossover by Donny Cates, did u catch it? 😊 Love your vids Coy, keep em coming 😁
These recommendations are FIRE! Will definitely be checking these out this coming weekend for sure. I laughed when you were trying to keep this video short, because I needed it to be LONGER!!! The Coy-Pond runs deep with knowledge 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Great List, a few more suggestions: Wytches - Scott Snyder (Horror) - 1 trade and done for now, more stories coming since Amazon just pick it up for a Series. Criminal - Brubaker and Phillips (Crime Noir) or anything by this pair really (Pulp, Fade Out, Reckless (current run and still ongoing), etc). Descender/Ascender - Jeff Lemire (Space Opera) Ice Cream Man - (Sci Fi Horror) - 1 Deluxe with the first 12 issues, 2nd Deluxe book coming later this year, currently on issue #27 or something like that. East of West - Hickman (Futuristic Sci-fi) - 3 Deluxe editions that are coming back on print, trades are still available, I think 10 of those are needed for the entire run. Seven to Eternity - Remender (Space Opera) - I think the deluxe may be out of print but the trades are still around.
I hadn't read comics in 20 years. I picked up Saga on a whim and I'm back on the wagon. However, I'm watching these videos now chasing the feeling I got from Saga...
Great picks, Coy! I have read most of these, except Supper Club & Simon Cross. Will have to add them to the list. Also highly recommend Monsters by Barry Windsor-Smith for a dark pseudo-Hulk story.
COY ITS AMAZING. I’m trying to pace myself. I don’t want to run out of it. Thanks as always for the recommendations!! I’m going to have to check out some more of these.
Thanks for this Coy. I can get with graphic novels probably easier than comic books. The idea never-ending-ness of the comics have my stomach in knots.
Great video! Image is a great starting point for anyone to get into to comics, they really go crazy with stories and publish a huge variety of genres. I hope you make sequel to this video, I'll be here to watch it =D Let's spread the word of comics!
Saga came out when I literally just got married and had twins the same year lol and we had no idea wtf we were getting into so that book spoke to me. Felt alien trying to be a parent of twins hahaha it was us against everyone who thought we were young and dumb. So yea that book holds a weird special place in my heart.
Comics have stories for everyone! Was loving Deadly Class, haven't picked up the next trade yet. It's Lonely At The Center Of The Earth will probably be my next purchase whenever I see it on the shelves. Image also has The Walking Dead and Invincible comics, great jumping on points for books. The Walking Dead show lost my interest, but the comic always kept my attention. Invincible season 2 is coming out this year so a good time to jump into that comic if someone likes superheroes, but wants something more contained than Marvel or DC.
@CoyJandreau You're welcome. Your videos inspired me to make a comic Instagram. I thought I was 100% done with doing any social media that isn't just personal or about my cosplay, but I guess not. You managed to take someone who used to run Facebook fan pages bit grew bitter, and make him want to get back in the game.
Coy I love watching these videos. I follow you on tiktok and watch you on Reel Rejects and NR when you are on. I'm always interested in your take on comics. I have a son with a birthday next month turning 13. Any of these graphic novels or any others part of this sale that you would recommend for someone that age?
Love Brubaker and Philips! They just didn’t crack that top 6 (plus a couple recent bonuses so people can try the newest) And I just didn’t dig Chew quite as much as everyone personally
@@CoyJandreau Brubaker, Phillips wombo combo always hits fantastically. I can understand why you would skip them over for new readers though. As for Chew, it definitely has a certain quirkiness to it that deters the reader at times but it was my first foray into Image and I loved that twisted take on "superpowers." Anything upcoming on your radar, bossman?
Saga was honestly boring as f*** to me right out of the gate. But I've been thinking about giving it another shot since the first time I read it was years ago
I find your list quite limited. Not sure how you could complete a list of “best” image graphic novels for new readers when most of these books are quite contrived and written within the last few years. apart from saga… people there is so, so much more out there. how about Sam Keith The Max, and you avoid so many incredible writers like Miller, Kirkman, ELLIS! and so many other incredible writers!
I love these breakdowns. Even if I can't afford to get too many more books right now, I still love hearing your passion for them.
Cheaa thanks man!
Just want to say thank you! I watched your video 3 months ago and finished Saga, Deadly Class and Lonely. Saga and Deadly Class are my favorite graphic novels!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Oh man this comment makes me SO happy :)
Why I do all of this!
Thanks for letting me know, so glad you enjoyed!!!
Saga is such a great book
Truly!

Def lemme know what you think of Lonely! Thanks for checking out the vid and following on this journey! Appreciate it!

Hell yeah! Happy to help, and so glad your reading SAGA
I picked up saga based off your love for it a year or so ago and thank you sir for that because it is definitely one of the best things I’ve ever experienced.
This makes me so happy indeed :)
I started collecting comics when image came out. My favorites where Youngbloods, WILDCats, CyberForce, ShadowHawk, Savage Dragon and of course Spawn.
Cheaaaa classic image 90s greatness!
Big fan of the first crossover arc! And yeah Tynion is a genius!
Thanks man!!

Love these recs! Especially love Brubakers CRIMINAL! But had already run long in this video. Hell yeah, Co-Signed!
I hadn't read comics in 20 years. I picked up Saga on a whim and I'm back on the wagon.
However, I'm watching these videos now chasing the feeling I got from Saga...
Coy you have been looking absolutely yolked lately 💪, keep up the good work
HUSTLIN. 6 days a week! Appreciate it!!
@@CoyJandreau haha I saw you in the latest reel rejects and I couldnt believe that was you 🤯 keep it up man the results are already showing!!
Another great video coy! Don’t worry about going too long. I swear I would watch hours of you just talking.
Haha thanks so much man! Appreciate it, I just need the powers that be and the view count to feel the same, but that IS super reassuring :) thanks!
Great picks, Coy! I have read most of these, except Supper Club & Simon Cross. Will have to add them to the list. Also highly recommend Monsters by Barry Windsor-Smith for a dark pseudo-Hulk story.
Those 2 are brand new! So your right on track
And will def check that one out!
Great recommendations! THANK YOU!
Thanks for watchin!
Well finally going to read Saga thanks to your insight into the sale! Thanks Coy!!
YESSS lemme know how ya dig!!
COY ITS AMAZING. I’m trying to pace myself. I don’t want to run out of it. Thanks as always for the recommendations!! I’m going to have to check out some more of these.
Love the Deadpool statue in the background, looks badass!🔥
Thanks for this Coy. I can get with graphic novels probably easier than comic books. The idea never-ending-ness of the comics have my stomach in knots.
Yeah it’s nice to have a structure sometimes! And then once comfy it’s easier to branch out (or not) but these are all delightfully contained
I just picked up deadly class first TPB and it was so good.
Love to hear that!
Great video!
Image is a great starting point for anyone to get into to comics, they really go crazy with stories and publish a huge variety of genres. I hope you make sequel to this video, I'll be here to watch it =D
Let's spread the word of comics!
Appreciate it!!
Planning to do one for Boom! Studios as well as marvel and dc! Def sequels to come!
Saga came out when I literally just got married and had twins the same year lol and we had no idea wtf we were getting into so that book spoke to me. Felt alien trying to be a parent of twins hahaha it was us against everyone who thought we were young and dumb. So yea that book holds a weird special place in my heart.
Love to hear this magic :)

ALL OF THIS! Yes!!
The artwork in Department of Truth reminds me of Neil Gaiman's Sandman. I will have to grab it.
Cheaaa can totally see that. Def think you’ll dig it
Finally got the Compendium for Saga during the lockdown and it blew my goddamn mind. Somehow 10x better than literal years of Coy raving about it
This makes me so impossibly happy :)
Yessss
I'm loving your comic videos. Keep up the great work. I'm sure you have lots of ideas for comic videos, and I'm excited to see what's to come.
Thanks so much!! Theyr a decent chunk of work, overjoyed to see the positive feedback!
@CoyJandreau You're welcome. Your videos inspired me to make a comic Instagram. I thought I was 100% done with doing any social media that isn't just personal or about my cosplay, but I guess not. Deadly class is amazing everyone. Gotta check it out! 🙂
It’s truly sensational
Lemme know how ya dig it!
Love the comic reviews, keep 'em coming. But the question is, how excited are you for Wu-Tang s3?
Can't wait! Ep 1 DROPS TOMORROW
Thanks for the recs! What are your thoughts on the Spider Noir “announcement”?
I mean, nothing is real until it’s out but I’ll always be excited first, cautious second. It’s just my nature haha esp around spidey
I would also recommend Postal... Matt Hawkins writes it... It's so good
I’ll check it out!
@@CoyJandreau definitely do!... There are 6 volumes or I think there is a compendium with the entire run
Love the video and enthusiasm haha.
Image comics ZEAL

Fire Power, Ice Cream Man are also top reads for me.
Dig fire power a lot! Great call!
Great recommendations.
Thank ya sir!
Great pics Saga is the best!
Adore it
How familiar are you with The Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips duo, Coy? And I can't believe you skipped over Fear Agent and Chew.
Love Brubaker and Philips! They just didn’t crack that top 6 (plus a couple recent bonuses so people can try the newest)
And I just didn’t dig Chew quite as much as everyone personally

That shirt 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
Appreciate it
How did you not mention Güs when you talked about saga lol
Big up Coy. 🙏🏽
All of Ed Brubaker’s stuff.
Love Brubaker
Saga was honestly boring as f*** to me right out of the gate. But I've been thinking about giving it another shot since the first time I read it was years ago
Personally ADORE saga but it’s not for everyone. Hopefully this try it’s more
Your jam!
Saga is so overrated but popular. Weatherman is cool. Lazarus Black Science , Chew and Weatherman
Deadly Class is very average, i regret buying all the single issues... overhyped 6.5/10

Black Science
Solid book!
