Pls do all of them. Second Korean War campaign is sooooooooo good.
I am just sad there's no REDFOR perspective of this campaign :(
I'm sad that there are no mods for this game. If this was moddable this game would never ever die.
Looks like I will be, overwhelming support! :)
@@matteobaldini9837 ash and shadows best mod tbh
Btw do not ever trust auto resolve in this game ever.
Same with the Total War games :D
I use it when I have the counter to something and I dont know if I will be able to win by points and units I should be able to and it should be easy but micro is difficult so I use it then
Omg fr, and I thought total war auto resolve was bad
Its a scam
@@nevergiveafuck404 TW games have much more reliable auto resolve
Omg dude this series is a lifesaver. I’m the kinda guy doesn’t get it till I get it, so I was desperate to watch someone else do this campaign cause I was struggling so hard TvT
Seriously Tysm for making this eries
im stalled on cherwon and i was forced to fall back to busan, every time i try to fight cherwon they use 6 a51s to kill whatever i have to either counter them, or fight their main force, and even when playing on slow or very slow i cant kill them all what do
Thank you for making these videos. I wouldn't say I'm a great RTS player but I've played other RTS games and they weren't that hard, but for RD maaaaan was I struggling with the first campaign. I tried following some of your techniques and although the AI didn't play the same way as yours did, your videos still helped a lot.
FINALY! You took your time to play the red dragon campaign. As someone who has played this campaign several times I must say that Eugen improved a lot from the ALB campaign. So im looking forward to more!
Only 3 years late haha.
The only thing that's bad about the RD campaigns is that you'll have to fight naval battles if you want to do well on some of them, otherwise they are excellent. At least as far as the AI's behavior will allow.
General advice:
RD keeps track of infantry and their transports separately, though you can only call in a complete unit of inf+transport. If you, say, lose a transport but not its squad the infantry will sit in 'reserve' until another infantry unit of the same kind dies, freeing up a transport to bring them into battle.
Those F86s are probably the best CAS you can get in the Busan side of the map simply because they're cheap and reload ridiculously fast, allowing you to counter AI spam with your own spam, especially in sectors like Uichang, where the enemy never has AA better than a few MANPADS and inevitably runs out of things to spam other than tanks after the fist battle or two (and you can exploit your air call in point to bring them in right on top of the enemy). Not so much in Daegu, where there are Shilkas and such, though.
And finally, Auto Resolve is pure shit. It is somehow possible to take losses in an auto resolve even when the only enemy units left are unable to engage the units you're sending to kill them (SAMs vs tanks) or are completely unarmed (logistics truck and CPs). I think it works by inflicting a portion, which may be modified by relative moral/cohesion/size, of each side's overall point cost on the other and then assigning those losses randomly across the battlegroup, but I confess to not being sure on this part.
It says in game it also takes into account units and counters but it's only a part of it
For naval combat i found it necessary to blob for anti missile gunnery and synchronize my firing to overwhelm theirs.
Yes, do more campaigns, watching this is both fun and helpful for new players (eg me!)
I absolutely would love to watch you play through these campaigns.
I like your take on the campaign so far. Hoping this sort of thing continues.
Cheers!
Nice Vulcan, I think a lot of people like this for a change. I enjoyed the campaign when I played it.
Yeah it seems so, I'm glad it's got such a good reception even though the game is years old now.
Key to this campaign for me was to garrison the right towns, get my armor up enough to kill their AA, and then push their command zones with helicopters to kill arty/commanders.
I also like placing all infantry in building zones pre game, then doing a mass unload at start
Vulcan-Yes please I love Red Dragon content thanks
You got it!
Funny that the street protests used as a pretext for this scenario really happenned !
literally watching this cause i couldn’t beat it
What I did for the first battle was I just deployed my K1 tanks in groups of 3- with the support of a fiat or OH-6 in the first battle and let them eat EVERYTHING. Have 2 groups defend bravo and deploy the third in Uichang, once the enemy attacks send your third group to flank across the bridge and destroy their artillery, then just focus on wearing down the enemy’s APC’s, infantry’s and shilka’s from a distance. Your K1’s are extremely chewy against artillery and F5’s which deploy napalms. If you want to wear down the enemies Airforce as well I recommend using your anti air regiment in the battle and deploy K163’s
wow that's a surprise
This looks so easy when you do it. I'm losing every battle. They said busan is easy
I've tried copying the placements on these videos and still not doing great
@@millsey456 Yeah ive tried to do the same and somehow i never get the same result, i mean there is rng i guess but damn the butterfly effect in the end of the mission is crazy, one small difference in the first battles outcome or any other battle and it all crumbles at the end
The Red Dragon campaigns may look pretty, but I think they're almost fundamentally broken. The WRD AI never managed to be a reasonable facsimile of a normal game and every tactical engagement has the AI bumrush you with everything they have, even if they're supposed to be on the defence.
no they play defense now
In wargame red dragon u do not lose the squad when u lose a transport. It is much better system than ALB
I do not get this at all. I did the same exact thing, but the enemy artillery smoked every single one of my positions, then dropped napalm, and then moved in an artillery barrage, stunning the troops and then moved the apcs in. I tried again, and that time they just used the artillery in combination with napalm, no attack was made. The AI in my gameplay behaves completely differently. Something had to be changed.
Unlike SD AI the AI in this uses arty semi competenly instead of charging like its infantry.
YASSSSSSSSSS FINALLY I HAVE BEEN PUSHING FOR U TO DO THE CAMPAIGNS FOR SOOO LONG. HYPEEEEEEEEEEEEe!!!!!!!!!!!!!'☺👍
thank you vulcan. please do keep em comming
let's see if I can finally finish Busan Pocket
dude, i'm deploying the exact same units as you in this same exact battle and none of my units engage the enemy - they just sit and get merked. what the f am i doing wrong?
You have to unload the infantry from their carriers
Oh my ! I wanted you to play the Red Dragon's campaigns so much !!!! I hope you will do them all :D
Please, sir, give us moar.
Damn I had no idea about the transport death costing you the assigned infantry in the campaign. That explains what happened to my missing ATGMs /MANPAAD squads in the ALB campaigns I just finished. Am just about to start Red Dragon and watched this video to get an idea of the changes, glad I did. Cheers mate for that key bit of info.
Hmmm AI seems different here in 2021 than what I am seeing here (I deploy almost exactly the same yet AI pushes further, survives more, I ended up having to use K1's here which put them back a turn). Still though, learned a lot even if that's the case. Very helpful.
Just bought the game not knowing it had practically zero tutorial. Teaching myself how to play by doing this scenario and just doing the exact same things you do lol. Helps that the AI is still just as dirpy as when this video game out.
i keep loosing everytime :D
Keep going with this series Vulcan!
I really would like to see you doing the more "offensive campaigns".
Planning to do them all in order so you will see them don't worry.
Don't you lose your infantry when you lose your transport? (Ps You are my favourite youtuber. Keep up the nice work😊)
박상혁 U do not lose the infantry in Wargame RD that was ALB they changed it. Much better now
Thanks for this video man until part 3, those 3 parts of the vid helps me defend busan until i captured seoul and and I'm going to the nearby city of it. I just followed your set up and it works for me
This look cool man can't wait for the next one
how the hell i did not know this game until now, it is so realistic to potray modern battle.
Yay love the campaign
How do you quickly select SINGLE units of a group for placement like you do????
The game mechanics are so totally different from SD44
Going to take me a little while to get used to for sure.
I do the exact same you do and still lose
I'd like to add my support for you to continue, plus the strategic theater is relevant right now. All RD needs is a few nukes!
It will get harder every campaign and more interesting tbh
12:32 you do lose the squad. Or at least there's a very high chance (70-80% from experience).
Luca Davidson no u do not that is ALB in Wargame Red Dragon if you lose a transport u do not lose the squad
nice playing dude you explain it nice and simple
I remember I asked about this along time ago and you said that Shermanator did them so you won't! I'm glad to see this - will watch it this evening.
I think possibly he was running through them himself at the time so I didn't want to be in direct competition.
VulcanHDGaming now I feel like playing the RD campaign lol
luv the campaign gameplay, would luv to see more
How to re-add volumes without adding them from above?
I mean in single player u can speed up the game in SD too so there is not rlly an advantage there.
that was great ! please do more of these please thanks . ky
Excellent content :)
19:34
That's three commanders the North Koreans have lost in the first 10 minutes. No wonder everyone looks down on them
Another great video, also reminded me, I am not good at this game xD
Why do you make this look easy, I get demolished by the AI
For some reason I cannot move my troops to any other sector
huh
I got bombed to the stone age ...
maybe the enemy just REALLY hates me
Or i thought i put them in buildings but i really just put cars outside buildings then rushed 1 of my recons straight to the buildings near enemy zone thinking "Lets get a view"
and my arti right in the zone my infantry was then got mad when i told them to fire and they "Ran away"
turns out they have a minimum range
Who knew
but i liked that
loved that even
When i tried Steel division 2 from a friend it just... It felt like i could cheese the enemy by literally just sending in tanks
Acabo de instalar el juego, me resulta completamente difícil entender que sucede y como lidiar con la artillería u.u
Are the episodes in wargame story reality (or semireality)?
They are fiction based on possible scenarios that could have occurred.
Ty
Its fun to wreck loads of enemys!
awesome
Wow Italian jeep in Korea unimaginable
play it again 2021
It's wild what just happened to South Korea lol
awesome!
damn, i didn't know some of this stuff was real.. i really don't know much about korea's history i guess.
this game is fucking hard
You'll get there! Check out some tutorials
hell yeah, more wargame!
as usual there were some "oh sh!t dawg wtf are you doing" moments, but since you won your battles and it worked out in the end I guess your way was just as good ;) keep'em videos coming!
IMO the only advantage SD has over WGRD is the LOS UI functionality, everything else is just boring or downright bad in direct comparison. Units are sloooow, AP mechanics are wonky, infantry feels impotent, the red/blue captured area mechanic makes scouting (note, thats not quite the same as recon) redundant, aircraft are practically magic spells, and even with the DLC unit variety is meh (and don't even get me started on the whole division idea). I don't think I've ever played a SD match or watched a replay that didn't make me think my time would've been better spent in WG.
The quality of like improvements in SD are amazing though, I miss them so much when playing WRD. Especially the ability to highlight my commands.
10:00
Can you play as best Korea?
I believe there is a campaign for China in Red Dragon where you will receive NK troops as reinforcement during the course of the war. Other than that, NK is featured as a playable nation in skirmish and multiplayer.
why is my enemy ai sooooo fucking agressive like his comes in all steady like but mine comes in all at once and i get overun
Same for me. I have not a single chance.
It's really bad the player can't pick up a side :(
yeessssss more of these pls
vulcan you shouldn't quad stack units it makes them very vunerable to bombing or arty
It's single player, what's the worst that could happen.
U̶t̶i̶l̶i̶z̶e̶ t̶h̶a̶t̶ a̶i̶r̶ a̶n̶d̶ n̶a̶v̶a̶l̶ s̶u̶p̶p̶o̶r̶t̶
Yeongdeok is hands down one of the worst maps in the campaign. It forces you to spread out your tank forces that you start off with in the sector, and the tanks the AI comes in with are so numerable (and the Chonma Ho V are BS) its impossible to hold without major reinforcements
Old comment but either reverse bumrushing with KIs and Phantoms from the Daegu sector or moving into the tree line with recon cuts them down well
@@natertatertot6777 I got way better since then. Ive learned to save up for the attack helicopter company and just waylay the tanks from a distance with them lol
Das ist light levels
save the korea plz
And this is nice timely Empire Files video related to this campaign: th-cam.com/video/-xMm5tLDD7A/w-d-xo.html
