That is an excellent method for stocking your wood supply. A great way to minimize the amount of time you handle each piece of wood. A very stylish box , you might want to design one for your front porch.
Suggestion: make a splitting block for the shop. I have seen concrete floors start to crack and disintegrate from being repeatedly hit by objects such as firewood. It would be such a shame to have the floor start to look horrible after spending so much time and money when a simple log or concrete slab can prevent the damage.
Evan you’re probably the most meticulous farmer I’ve ever seen. Your workmanship is impeccable. Your welding is pretty good too, I would recommend when you weld something and you need to grind it smooth. It’s best to let it cool off really well, if you don’t sometimes it makes the weld brittle and it could crack. I was a structural steel welder for about thirty years. Good work bud keep it up.😊
Install ceiling fans and run them in reverse for the winter. You'll be surprised how warm the shop will be when you bring all that heat down to your level. In summer, run them so they are blowing cooler air on the floor.
You have created a new standard for workshops. You are a real perfectionist. If you spend a good deal of time in your workshop, you want it to be comfortable and attractive, That, you have done, Evan.
That's what I call top of the line firewood storage. You did an excellent job designing and building it. Great that you can haul it to the wood storage pile and fill it all at one time. Very good time management. Thanks for sharing. Y'all stay warm during this blast of Arctic weather coming in. Have a Blessed day.
Beautiful job, Evan. That was well thought out. Those are the kinds of videos we enjoy watching-homestead improvement. Can’t wait til you get started on the kitchen on the other side of the barn!
Just to be fair, I rip you in comments sections on some of your videos. This one I think you hit a home run, I like your recycle project wood box, well thought out. Hope your new shop helps you prepare for your upcoming projects, so you are ready for them before you start. Good watch. Happy Holidays both of you.
Great Job...You make it looks so easy ! Really like how you explain all you're doing ....Thanks for letting us watch...Love you're dogs...Have a great Holiday Season !! Take care and see you again soon !!!!
I’ve been waiting to see you build this but thought you would use more metal. Love what you came up with and extra bonus that everything was scrap. Looks nice.
That is a great idea, my father and I have built 14 of what we call wood racks out of scrap house trailer frame that we have acquired over the years of farming. They’re 4 foot wide 4 foot tall and hold two piles. Which is one face cord. We burn wood as well as sell it. They’re super handy. We cut split and pile right in them and move them around with our Bobcat S130. We can even dump 4 of them in our 14’ dump trailer for deliveries. Great work!
In my wood stove days before I moved I bought some really heavy duty metal galvanised wheeled shelving gages as I split my logs 16 inch I stacked them and wheeled up the side of my house covered top with tarps made wood moving much easier I didn’t have a tractor but had a nice electric wood splitter was well under £200 probably £150ish I do miss my wood hunting/scrounging days when I first started was easy to get free wood delivered but needed plenty work
That's one of the NICEST DIY fireboxes I've ever seen!!!! Now I got an idea how to build mine. Of course mine will have to be about half the size of yours'. My garage is only about 30X24 There's not a lot of room with all my tools and saws. dirlpress, metalpress. and all the other thing my wife has tossed in my garage over the past 20 yrs. of living here. Plus everything I've collected and saved over the past 63 years... LOL!!!! So thanks for the idea... So merry Christmas to y'all and be blessed in Jesus name... BBE...
I think it turned out very nice for a shop wood box. Now you need to cut a thick biscuit off of a log and bring inside to use when you are making kindling.
Nice wood box I like it. Your shop is really nice, but it would be even nicer with a Double Barrel Wood Stove with a homemade heat exchanger. Or maybe repurpose an old 275-gallon oil tank into a wood stove. Make for great content and a nice wintertime project. Keep up the great work I look forward to your videos every week. JeffinMaine
There is a fan you mount near the ceiling with a tube that circulates the warm air back to the floor that made a huge difference in a friend's shop with high ceilings like yours.
That is not just a practical thing, it's almost furniture! Have you looked at some of those more efficient wood burners that people fabricate on TH-cam? You are handy enough with your fabricating skills to make something. Merry Christmas from Australia!
I really enjoy your videos. I wish you could double them up per week and I'm sure you wish you could too. Something about having to work for a living. . . A lot of us know about that.
"Outdoors with the Morgan's" is a great channel that does firewood type stuff. They have a sawdust Firestarter they sell that is infused with wax. A tiny bit (1/4 cup) is enough to start a fire. Maybe you could try something like that. I really like the firewood box! Great job!
If you ever get stuck in the snow just take a bunch of your ashes out of the stove and put under tires and spread ahead of them you will get right out thank you Tom from Nebraska
Looks very good Evan, I like that you put Wheels on it. That will definitely could in handy. It goes very good with the work shop. It's going to get dangerously cold tomorrow. Hope you guys are ready and stay warm. Thanks for sharing see you next time
Great idea for the wood bin. You may find it hard to roll after a while. Those little caster wheels just don't hold up. I would eventually change them out with 4" casters with a higher rating and possibly sealed bearings due to mud and dirt out at the shed! 👍👍👍 I would install a damper on the chimney to produce more heat inside and less up the chimney to the outside!
Wow...how the pups have grown! Or is it all winter fur?! Notice one had a little teddy bear toy. So cute. Imagine Maggie has her own collection. Happy Holidays!
Great job on the fire wood box, Perfect for your needs.... I was wondering when you were going to work on your tractor again, it's been torn apart for months, really like to see it all painted and up and running again.😀
That is an excellent method for stocking your wood supply. A great way to minimize the amount of time you handle each piece of wood. A very stylish box , you might want to design one for your front porch.
I notice there is one there now, but more labor. Load up the truck, then unload onto the porch rack. Be nice to have a similar setup as the garage.
Evan, you should burn your logo into the side of it country view acres with like some kind of Branding iron
Nice call
That is the prettiest firewood carrier I have ever seen. It makes mine look so utilitarian!
When you painted those screws it told me that you're the type of guy who pays attention to functionality AND beauty! Love that wood box! Nice job.
Minus 22 in my corner of Canada at the moment, and there is about 2 feet of snow. I converted the temp and snow depth to USA units. ~ulrich

Use one of those stumps that you cut away around the firewood shed. :)

Such a great video with great comments! So fun to watch! Thank you!!
One fine looking wood box.

That firewood box turned out great. Just shows how much you care about everything you do. I hope you all have a a safe and wonderful Christmas!
Love the fact that you are using supplies that were simply laying around. GREAT JOB.
You have created a new standard for workshops. You are a real perfectionist. If you spend a good deal of time in your workshop, you want it to be comfortable and attractive, That, you have done, Evan.

Wow it looks a smart piece of furniture I like it.x
nothing beats a wood fire
Good bit of kit, you can use it for other things when it is not carrying wood like bits of heavy machinery or tools about the workshop. Somerset Mike.
Well done Evan. I like your idea and the result.
The wood box looks great
That is a great addition in the shop.
Evan, put you a damper in your stove pipe. It'll help a bunch in keeping the heat in your stove instead of going up the flue pipe.
I’ve been waiting to see you build this but thought you would use more metal. Love what you came up with and extra bonus that everything was scrap. Looks nice.

Dude that is awesome- great job.
Great job on the Wood box, looks very nice!👍🏻
Really nice job on the firewood box, Evan.👍🙂
Seems like this would make a great idea for the front porch to? It looks great could easily go into the home. Susan

Very good idea Evan looks awesome.
With windchill it's-41 to -47c. That's cold weather even for here in Alberta.
Firewood box looks great. It works as good as it looks
I must say, when you build something, you build it to last!
Good job. Enjoy all of your videos.

Made out of stuff lying around, great box!
Use one of the large uncut logs from the tree felling and use it to chop your kindling on, rather than smashing your beautiful concrete floor :D
Wow, very nice work!!! 🗜🔩
Evan, I think the wood box is gorgeous. Well planned and built. Be proud!
Fun practical project. Thanks
I. Love. That. Box! Way to go. Awesome job. First time viewer & subscriber.
There is a fan you mount near the ceiling with a tube that circulates the warm air back to the floor that made a huge difference in a friend's shop with high ceilings like yours.
Very Nice.

I really like the firewood box! Great job!
The best firestarting byproduct is noodles! They stay nice and loose, with lots of airspace, and light right up!
That worked out well.
Turned out good 👍

Very nice job Evan! Enjoy watching! Merry Christmas y'all

Happy Holidays!
You're the man!!! 👍
Good job, it looks great 👍
All of your heat is going to end up in the ceiling - get yourself one of those Big-Ass ceiling fans to push it back down.
Great job on the fire wood box, Perfect for your needs.... I was wondering when you were going to work on your tractor again, it's been torn apart for months, really like to see it all painted and up and running again.😀
Very nice build.
That's a good idea! It should definitely haul more than the bucket.
ALL-IS, ALL-IS, ALL-IS, ALL-IS, Winter has come! Time to work on the Allis!
Awesome job.
I’m not sure what you envisioned, but that’s a spiffy wood holder. Probably better than what most people have. 👍🏼👍🏼
Such a cool idea, it rolled like butter!! Great job!!
Nice to see that you us an axe from Fiskars, they make great stuff.
