Welcome bacKKKK I know it's been a while since I last posted a penpal with me video :') but I'm very excited to be sharing this collab!! Kelsie has been a good friend of mine in this community so ofc we have to make a vid about it. Do you have any tips for people looking to start penpalling?
Yes!! I think it's always good to start with someone you know, like an internet friend or a childhood friend you want to get in touch with again. But if you want to meet someone new, that's ok too!! I recommend starting with penpals from the same country. Shipping fees are cheaper and it also takes less time for your letters to reach each other. It's a good way to test out whether you think this would be a good hobby for you or not^^. When choosing people to be penpals, don't be afraid to be a little selective! So much of the snail mail process is the connection you have with the other person, so it is important to chose someone you think you'd vibe with. And lastly, please don't be convinced that penpalling is all about stationery, it's not!! The most important (and the only thing you need, really,) is the letter. Stationery is definitely something you can collect over time if you'd like to, but there's no 'threshold' of the amount of stationery you need in order to start penpalling. When I first started, I just had lined paper and a pen!

Okay so I’m new to pen-paling, actually writing my first ever pen-pal letter now as I watch this. But I have a question involving the Q&A sheets. I see people make them but I haven’t been able to find someone explaining how to use them. I mean, yes they are kind of self explanatory but at the same time I’m somehow confused. So, I’m assuming that the answer sheets you make & include in your letters is answering the other person’s question sheet correct? If so, does that mean in the first letter sent it’s not to be included bc there’s no questions for me to answer? I’m just trying to figure out what to do bc in the “how to pin-pal” or “how to make the first pin-pal letter” videos I’ve been watching they all include the answer sheet but never tell me what I’m to do w/ it
yes, so in the first letter, you send questions (theyre not required btw, it's just a fun way to learn more about your penpal!), and in the reply letter your penpal sends, they would add answers to your questions and questions of their own. you'd then answer their questions, and so on and so forth.
