Only legal thing he could try to justify this disgusting act would be contempt, but it wasn’t even during official proceedings. He should be removed from the bench and have his law license suspended. Period.

A Judge tries to help a troubled teen that is acting out in a very inappropriate way and they paint HIM as the bad guy? He even offered to personally mentor the teen. Do you know how valuable a judge's time is? He offered her solid gold and they turned it down. Unfortunately, she will DEFINITELY be seeing him again. Only then will it be for REAL. This mother should be ashamed of herself for not teaching her daughter respect, withdrawing her from a program trying to help her, and most of all, rejecting his mentorship. It is behavior like this that causes our poverty-criminal complex.
2 tier justice system on display: Trump could fall asleep, fart, etc. and everyone makes a joke of it. But if a kid does it, it suddenly becomes a serious situation. The comments here are so revealing of people's inner evil. They said the teen doesn't have a bed to call her own, but people automatically resort to calling her a "troubled teen". No where is she described as a "troubled" anything!

The girl is homeless, instead of bullying her maybe he should have offered her a hot meal and real mentoring by taking her to chambers and talking to her about the law and give her a tour of the courthouse and set up a tour at a local university law school. Contempt of court is a crime. Disrespect of the Judge is contempt of court, and unfortunately for this girl, what is considered "disrespect" is completely up to the preciding Judge.

That judge had a perfect opportunity to ask the young lady to approach the bench and give her some words of support and encouragement. Instead, he chose to act like a middle aged bully on a power trip. People like him are one of the things that’s wrong with the judicial system.

A Judge especially should know better. She was chastised in public unlawfully detained, humiliated publicly on Facebook live. What happened to due process? She was never charged with a crime, never appointed a lawyer, so he just blatantly violated her rights, she was seized hand cuff, forced to put on a jumpsuit and brought out and completely disrespected by a Judge while she was on a FIELD TRIP. Judges from the 36th district court are a whole other breed. They have entitlement issues. I’ve been a defendant in both the 36th district court and frank murphy (Detroit circuit court) and the difference is night and day. I’ve had the book thrown at me multiple times for petty citations in the 36th. But I’ve been shown nothing but respect when going before circuit court judges, for felony crimes.
