Why are they standing in the room when it discharges? Doesn't this type of system use nitrogen, the same gas that can suffocate you without you noticing?
would have to be a lot of nitrogen in a room with minimal oxygen. Good question tho, helps anyone else wondering the same. most nitrogen deaths are from scuba divers.
Hi ! the Vortex uses Nitrogen and Water (not a lot), the oxygen level drops from 20 to around 14% after full discharge, so it's harmless to someone traped in the room and to 1st responders entering the room. Also when someone is in the room when fire's detected and tries to escape, or when 1st responder rush in to help chances are they'll leave a door open : it does not affect the efficiency of VORTEX as video shows, doors could be accidentaly open and system still be efficient, the cloud does not escape the room as you might expect. The components are low pressure and non toxic before, during and after trigger. This system is really impressive to see in real life. Contact you local Victaulic partner if you need to know more.
