    I've bought two of them, and coming from dual 1080p 60hz monitor I found them great for the price. I couldn't find any other monitors that was curved 1440p 144hz for a cheaper price, plus I plan to eventually go to a triple monitor setup by adding the G7 and having monitors with the same curve would be great. I aggrege nothing special but a good addition to the budget 1440p 144hz curved monitor line up.
    Edit: I also do recommend a monitor arm, but I would put an arm on almost any monitor regardless of quality.

      I've got two of what I assume are the previous model, the Odyssey C32JG56. Started searching for a third, going for flight and space sim (esp. Star Citizen). Couldn't find a third JG56, even as used, and was gonna order this one (I have been wishing to find a JG56 to maintain the same curvature, 1800R, of the monitor setup). G5 is more curved (1000R) than I'd prefer. But, then I came across the Gigabyte M32QC. It is quite similar in specs, only better. Or, so I've been reading. And less aggressively curved (1500R). Price is about the same so I am now thinking of choosing Gigabyte over the G5. Besides, the G5 design does feel cheap, just like the JG56. I only got two of the JG56 as the price was right, Black Friday deal a couple of years ago.

      Is 2560x1440 2k?

    • @bardavidson2102
      @bardavidson2102 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rodolfotsang4327 Technically not but many people refer to it as such but 2k is a term only referring to the number of horizontal pixels so any resolution with that number at or close to 2048 is considered 2k like 1920x1080.
      also 1440p ultrawide 3440x1440 and 1440p super ultrawide 5120x1440 are more demanding than 2560x1440 (which is the resolution people typically mean to when they say 1440p)
      Resolution is the number of horizontal pixels multiplyed by the number of vertical pixels, fo 2560x1440 is at about 3.6 million pixels while 5120x1440 is 7.2 exactly double the pixel count, for context 4k 3840x2160 is 8.3 pixels meaning running a game at 5120x1440 is nearly as much demanding as running a game at 4k.

    What you said about the response time kinda worried me about buying the monitor. I personally am buying this just to do schoolwork and competitive VALORANT and maybe some other FPS games like Cold War/Warzone. I have a budget of $250 and just looking for a 144hz monitor that is 27inches and the rest doesn’t matter. Would you recommend getting this since it’s on sale rn, or something else?

      it has 1ms response time, which is top tier for the price. Its also 229 now on bestbuy, I heard samsungs shipping is sus so I bought it from bestbuy instead plus protection plan if you need one. Im a console player tho so these specs are perfect for series x I think. Freesync to match game fps and hz higher than 120 which is the max of the series x anyway.

I game but not competitive I usually play single-player experiences. I usually use a calibrated Samsung TN panel or my big 4k VA hdr tv for media editing and content creation. I guess I'm getting this mostly for gaming and utilizing the full capabilities of my console and PC hardware.

      In my opinion, the nipple is the best form of navigation. A lot of monitors don't label the buttons from the front so you have to guess which button does what. Also it's always a pain in the butt when adjusting the picture. I can never remember which button is up, down, or select. The nipple makes it easy because it's pretty much a d-pad.

    I just bought the 32" 2k 144Hz G5. First impression was pretty good, amazing curve, good 144hz, nice overall. Then I entered a dark area in a game...
    When moving in a dark/grey scene, the screen is TOO BLURRY, completely unplayable. I was playing Metro in BF3, when I go to room with poor light, cant play, is like being drunk in GTA.
    I have tried everything to mitigate this.
    I am very dissapointed with this G5, is a shame bcs i love the curve, but this HUGE amount of blur and ghosting is not acceptable in a 400$ monitor.

    Hey Bijan! I've been subscribed for a while but I just wanted to say thanks for the great content. One thing I wish you and all content creators, critics, reviewers etc. would include are your biases or context. In other words, you can put something in the Description of your videos about yourself, how you typically use the type of products that you review, and what you are not or not into.
    For example, you can say that you used to be a diehard FPS gamer and almost went pro, you typically game and edit videos on monitors, you're not a spec freak like HW or GN, and you're not that concerned about certain secondary features like viewing angles (seriously, why is this even a consideration on any monitor below 32"?!).
    Context like this will help your viewers better judge what you're saying and showing against their own biases and contexts, especially viewers who are not familiar with you. For example, wouldn't it be nice to know what games a game reviewer usually plays in their personal time, and what factors matter and don't matter to them?
