In this video I'll be taking a look at the newest guitars in LAVA Music's range - the LAVA ME 4 Carbon and the LAVA ME 4 Spruce. The spruce sounds so much better! I wasn't convinced about the sound of Lava, but this model may change that! 1 question: Why does it sound so much thinner when plugged in? Doesn't make sense to me.

Awesome review…love the way you explain and demonstrate ❤ just miss the price aspect and if it is worth spending more or less for what- just guiding light ! Is there any cost to register on the App. How does update work ?
I think it could be great for learning and great for recording. I think eventually, getting to a traditional acoustic will still be a goal for most players. Longer neck with a cut out would be great.

I've been wondering if it's possible to get a nice warm kind of jazz tone from the Lava Me 4. I can't find an example in any of the reviews.

I agree. The spruce top is better tonally. The plugged-in tones are not as good as the previous models. As always, Dave, a great and informative video.

The spruce guitar sounds really really good! They both do, but the spruce is breathier and has wonderful low end. If I didn't see it I would never know it looks the way it does either. Nice review Dave!
Both guitars have EQ control. The wooden guitar is going to sound more familiar unplugged but with effects, you can fine tune it to sound literally like whatever you want
I don't know how to play the guitar but I'm looking to get this. Based from your video. The spruce sounds better but I like the looks and style of the carbon

I personally prefer Yamaha transacoustic guitars or standard guitars with Tonewoodamp installed, if you like acoustic guitars.
I think the spruce sounds much better. My main guitar is my taylor 414 ce special v class. Im just wondering if i could be happy with the carbon as my take everywhere guitar. Plus side is I dont have to worry about the carbon. The spruce can still warp.

Spruce sounds better, but all I see on TH-cam is reviews of the lava range, nobody seems to actually record with it out of choice, except to review it.
Same thought. I have not seen a video with them unless it was specifically to highlight the guitar.
But that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't good. My thoughts are that it's a jack of all trades but master of none.
Anyone who really cares about the the sound output has better options with bespoke gear and guitars. But for more casual players it can be useful to have everything in one place.

I suck at all thing's tech, so not my cup of tea!, but the tone of the spruce was more pleasing to the ear, also you are giving off some serious Billy Jack vibe 's with that hat Dave[ you young folk google him]

If you can use an iPhone or android phone you’d be fine. It’s an easy touchscreen navigation. Lol
The Spruce one sounds better, yet still is quite twangy? Placement of air hole could be better. I.M.O.
The “air hole” placement doesn’t matter. Barely affects the sound. Some guitars have them on the sides, some have multiple sound holes. Literally barely affects anything.
It sounds different because it’s made of a different material.

Hi, I am a beginner and I simply do not know what guitar to buy? I found over internet some of the guitars I would like:
- Lava Me 4 Spruce
- Lava Me pro
- Enya Nexg 2
- Enya X4 Pro
From your experience, which one could be better for me? I would like to add that I want to use the guitar mostly with headphones …I do not want my neighbours to hear me :-)

My biggest question is the difference between the Lava Me 4 Spruce vs the Lava Me 4 Play... in essence the spruce vs the HPL... is there that big a difference? I've scoured TH-cam for a head-to-head comparison but can't find one.
If you have enough money then go for Lava Me 4 Spruce.
Cool review. Sadly like all things Electric and modern they make things look ugly.
Ugly? I don't think so. Not beautiful, but not hideous. I think the only weird thing about it is the smooth headstock and weird placement of the sound hole.
I'm curious, why do you think it's ugly?
