You are so lucky learning guitar in 2024. I am 61 and been playing 48 tears. Back in the day the only way to learn a song was put on an album and stop the needle every 5 seconds. We had no TH-cam, online training, digital recorders or anything like a Lava guitar. If I was you I would join an online guitar sites which are so freakin cheap and go through a course. Whatever you like (Blues, rock, jazz, country, country etc). I would also 100% learn the CAGE system. Just go on YT and search it out. You can learn in one year what took me 25 years. I would also highly recommend learning basic theory. Major minor, inversions, scales, arpegios, etc. And 100% learn the blues. The 1 4 5 progression is the basic for all rock. Learn pentatonics. Good luck my friend. And remember the more you learn on guitar the more you will realize how much you don't know. Have fun!!

Yeah i suspect the product designer was superdrunk when he designed the headstock - easily the ugliest you’ve seen. So bland, boring and tasteless. Change it! They’re lucky I could still like the guitar because there’s loads of convenience packaged in with it. And it has a convenient grab and go size unlike my other acoustic / dreadnoughts, so it got picked-up first most of the times.

I owned the 38" lava me 3. And i've been using it mostly ( i have also another martin D35 & taylor 414CE ). Reason : its a cool fun guitar and seems easier to grab and playing it. BUT, i disliked the stock 0.12 string gauge that comes with it. The tension restricts my playability and feel. So i experimented and restringed it with a 0.11 and then further to 0.10 gauge. And have since stick to the latter. It still sounds excellent and now i can enjoy both heavy strumming and do lovely finger picking on it.

I wish the Lava came with sounds such as found in the Line6 Variax acoustic 700 ( among others: 12 string, jazz guitar, banjo, sitar). I wish also it had sounds such as found in the electro-hamonix pedal Synth9. Even though I love Lava features such as reverb and looper, I find the sound capabilities limited.

You are talking about very comfortable playing on this. i have the spruce in 41 and for me the playability is the most problem of this product. This guitar can hardly be adjusted, despite the truss rod you can't get a good string action, which unfortunately makes the product not really good. i am not a beginner and have different guitars, this one is really hard to play. i will have to return it, even though i like the innovative concept of lave.

    - Enya X4 Pro

      @GadgetyRon ปีที่แล้ว

I have the Lava Me 2 and the Enya NexG 2. I much prefer the NexG 2. I feel the Enya has more versatility, and unlike the Lava, when using headphones the Enya is nearly silent (makes no acoustic sound, as the internal speaker turns off when you plug in headphones). The Enya is also less expensive, and includes earphones, and the deluxe version even comes with a charging stand and a wireless mic, so you can use the guitar as a portable, self-contained PA system.

I love the concept to this guitar and their technology, but I’m hesitant for the fact that I can’t go to my local music store and try one out. Features of what it can do are one thing, but I want to hold it and see how it plays and feels. I wish the company had a way of letting people try their products out. To much money to Hope it feels right. I have 5 other friends who play and said the same thing. They would probably buy one if they can try it out first. Good reviews don’t really equal out to a person personal feel on what they are looking for. I’ve contacted the company asking them how I could try one before I made a purchase and they said to go to their site and look up deals. The closest that I found is over 2 hrs away. Not happening. So as much as I would probably like to purchase one, I probably won’t just for the fact that I can’t play one first. Just my opinion. Not knocking the product.

      Hey,
I can totally understand your thoughts, it's always better to play the guitar before you buy it.
One thing you could do is ordering one and make use of the 30 day money back option, so you can try it and if you don't like it you can send it back within 30 days. That's a good option if you don't have a dealer near you.

The cool thing about Carbon Fiber in general is that it creates such a stable tone that unlike wooden guitars where 10 of the same models of a guitar might have slight differences, and what sounded good at the factory might not sound the same depending on where they ship it; they will all pretty much sound the same. So you know for sure you’re getting the guitar just as the QA guys heard it. The biggest draw is of course the onboard effects though. From my experience they’re pretty comparable to high end guitars and anything they lack “unplugged” is easily handled by the effects.

Yeah to each his own. But if i can help you in any way; lets just say i owned 2 martin, a taylor, and electric guitars ( gibson, 3 fender, ibanez ). And i could still enjoy my lava me 3. In fact i am now somewhat spoilt by it, that i realized, its the guitar that i often grab these days to play. The tension ( 0.12 gauge ) to me is however too mechanical and rigid and affects my playability ( perhaps the manufacturer's intention is to maintain and enhance it's sound quality). But i replaced them with a 0.10 set. Loving it ever since.❤

I had my ME3 battery fail within the warranty period. Unlike every other similar device, this DID NOT have overcharge protection. I kept it in the charging station and at some point it would not turn on. The battery had swollen and bent the circuit board. I did get an offer to ship it to a repair site or be sent the replacement battery. I opted for the new battery and an install kit. I do say that it was a VERY fiddly process to replace the battery. Once that was complete I checked online for a replacement battery, should it fail again. The battery is a standard FGB/T 18287 readily available from various sites. HOWEVER - the LAVA has a battery pack which has some sealed circuitry, so you would have to open that up and hope (maybe?) that you could replace the battery. Not worth it in my book. All that said, maybe the new model, ME4 takes care of the issue, but I personally would not chance it.
PS: I see one of the feature of the new model is a faster processor. I found that on mine, the touch screen was so slow, I could not ever conceive of playing out with it unless I had it set to a template and stayed with it. They keep pushing these things out for free to reviewers and not too many who actually use it apart from the demos that they post.

They have better sounding effects plus amp, cab, mic placement, etc. Sure there's some things the Lava can do that Helix or TMP can't but not enough to pull me in yet.

I just bought the ME4. The FX are not like an electric, sure.. but they have a unique sound and they are super cool

I must say i beg to differ. With effects, even with great guitars like Martin or RSP, Gibson, anything can sound ridiculous if you dont know what to choose and when to stop. So same goes wuth the LavaMe guitar. My fav is using their Chorus, Delay or even Tremolo and finger pick them. It sounds great and lovely. Your playing actually comes alive within the guutar itself, seriously.

I'm waiting for the version with 9 volt battery, ...such a stupid move to use rechargeable batteries, ...yes, they send a link on how to change the battery yourself 😂, ...they mean destroying your guitar🤬

The acoustic sound is horrible, it's more an electric guitar with pedals built in

Better to tune the guitar before recording the video, listen from 2.50 and at 3.02! Tune the guitar! Awful. Sorry....

My problem. I will not be "part" of this community. I do not want that this company use my Data. It is not posible to use this guitar without giving access to my information. If I pay for the guitar, let me use it without "control".

The same could be said for TH-cam yet here you are.

@@DanSkinny nope, it is not the same. TH-cam is a service, I can use it or not, my choice. But if I buy a gadget, like a guitar is. I do not see the point to be forced to register. Makes no sense
