Great question! He’s Not paralyzed but extremely stiff! His syndrome affects all aspects of his life- growth/ physical characteristics, mental development and range of motion in his joints. His body is very stiff mostly related to low muscle tone and directly related to his syndrome. Therapy helps a ton with mobility in the body but he will always have to work hard and stretch to have good mobility in his joints!

Hey Steph! When it comes out, you should watch Inside Out 2 with Sebastian. It does a beautiful job of showing how anxiety (the new emotion introduced) is really trying to help us and protect us. I’m also an anxious person when it comes to my routines and loved watching how they framed anxiety in positive way in the movie, and how it can be helpful. ❤ Thought I would share from one anxious sister to another! 😊

Sebastian is so amazing. Looking at older videos and now, the progress he has made is phenomenal. You guys see so much more than we do of course but these past videos have certainly shown he has grown up so much. He is very active and talkative now which is just a blessing to see and hear. I'm not sure Sebastian is a morning person. He seemed a little cross at being woken up 😉. He knows where his food is. That's why he's rolling towards the wood. He's headed for the kitchen! Look at him sitting! Even though it was a hard decision, Stefanie, Geo and you made the right call in sending him to school. It is enriching his life and he's getting stronger. Even the way his feet he places his feet has improved. He's making progress with movement overall. He's doing great and it's because of Geo and you. It's cool seeing him doing a little head bopping. Some people need structure and routine. I'm glad you're recognizing that changes in routine aren't the end of the world and are doing things to cope. That is awesome! Congratulations - that shows wisdom. Now you can enjoy your time with Geo as your reward!
After watching Sebastian eating, u can tell how much u guys have been working with him and strengthening his muscles. The earlier videos u were asking what u could use 2 hold his head up. Now his doing it all on his own! Not only his head but all his muscles. I do think he is using his muscles in his little face alot more talking and talking. Great job mommy Stephanie and daddy

U both do a great job and r always so patient. I love love how u r constantly talking to him, asking him questions, getting him used to conversing! In my ICU patients who are sedated, paralyzed, medicated, I always come in to the room and speak to my patients just as if they were having a conversation with me. I tell them what time it is,the weather outside, even reading the funnies and horoscopes! I truly believe it helps encourage verbalization and really stimulates them! He has light perception vision. So, the “picture” isn’t clear but he can see shadows and movements. But from the tests we have done and what we think we know from those tests- his vision is blurry but he can see some things! I wish we knew more too of what he actually sees!

This episode is fun! Sebastian sings his morning song at the beginning! Eats breakfast in his nifty low chair-those straps really seem to help hold his head up. Some floor rolling going on. Then extended drum play, dancing and beatboxing! The boy has mad skills! Mama Stephanie you look so trim and slim in your cute shorts! Anxiety is so tough and we know you have a great routine for your little guy. But I keep thinking about your Mexico vacation where your schedule had to be more flexible, and he seemed to do so well. All that stimulation seemed to bring out great reactions in him. I hope school will do the same. Maybe his curriculum could include music, movement and dancing. Then during dinner he added a little drama when he had to wipe away a tear. After watching Sushi Night, I realized Sebastian has developed quite a fan club. This episode is fun! Sebastian sings his morning song at the beginning! Eats breakfast in his nifty low chair-those straps really seem to help hold his head up. Some floor rolling going on. Then extended drum play, dancing and beatboxing! The boy has mad skills! Mama Stephanie you look so trim and slim in your cute shorts! Anxiety is so tough and we know you have a great routine for your little guy. But I keep thinking about your Mexico vacation where your schedule had to be more flexible, and he seemed to do so well. All that stimulation seemed to bring out great reactions in him. I hope school will do the same. Maybe his curriculum could include music, movement and dancing. Then during dinner he added a little drama when he had to wipe away a tear. After watching Sushi Night, I realized Sebastian has developed quite a fan club. Noticed that he already has a fashion stylist and hairdresser! Gio and Stephanie, you made a beautiful little boy together! He’s a rockstar! 😊❤
