He was the love of Tanya’s life . I don’t think she ever got over him. Unfortunate that the drugs & lifestyle hurt the romance . But as far as talent , they were great as a duo !!
Just a lovely couple and sad that it didn't work out. My own marriage was almost ruined by booze until he saw the light and sobered up. We had many more happy years before he died in August, 2019. I miss him every day.....
Such a beautiful remake. I can’t get enough of this song, especially with Tanya and Glen belting it. I’ve always adored Glen and his amazing and extensive talents. I also have more appreciation for Tanya. Luckily, they cleaned themselves up. Terribly saddened when he passed, but thankful for everything he left behind. One hell of a picker, and such a beautiful man.
Even though all we hear is about the turmoil these two experienced during their time together, they sure look in love and they sound great together. Let's face it, sometimes, love is not enough.
On this day in 1980 {August 1st} Glen Campbell and Tanya Tucker performed "Dream Lover" on the NBC-TV network late night musical variety program 'The Midnight Special', they were also the show's co-hosts... Their covered version would reach #59 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart... Exactly twenty-one years earlier on August 1st, 1959 Bobby Darin's original version was at #29 on the Top 100, seven weeks earlier it had peaked at #2 {for 1 week}, the week it was at #2, the #1 record for that week was "The Battle of New Orleans" by Johnny Horton...... May God bless and watch over Mr. Campbell...
In Glen's 2008 recording of 'These Days' he sings "Please don't confront me with my failures -- I have not forgotten them". The 80's were a very hard time for the older generation of country. Very few actually made it through. Glen is very lucky he found peace with himself, got himself clean and that we get to see him shine again.
In her most recent interviews Tanya said she would always love Glen Campbell. I think they really loved each other but they fought all the time. Tanya told Larry King, she hit Glen Campbell in the head. They fought each other. It wasn't Glenn just hitting on her. They were great singing together. I still enjoy them after all these years.
Tanya was not ready for long term .plus she snuck away to do a new song. They did love each other just not the right time.any hoo we lost a great man and guiter and singer.love u Glen.
I love this song, always have. And I like this video alot, too. Tanya and Glen look so happy together there. I remember when they dated, that he was quite a bit older - seems like about 15 yrs - i don't know but i don't think that he was a perv - that's not freaky. think i'll go check out her "hangin in" video....i used to like that alot also.
Glen was born in 1936 and Tanya in 1958. So it was like a father and a daughter age different. Too bad they were drinking and abusing drugs too much, so their personal problems were transferred to their professional. That was the final collapse of the incredible duo in 80's. Even after all those years they sound great together. But, you can't stop the time...
They both were pretty strung out during their time together; always high on something. Drugs, booze and SEX. Tanya was crazy about GLEN though. I don't think either of their EGO'S could deal with one another. Gasoline and a blow torch don't go together.
Good song, but I'm sorry I don't know what Tanya, who was 21 when she met him, even saw in him. he treated her horribly, was nothin' but a "druggie" then,I don't know about now,and she's too beautiful to be treated like crap. All that aside, they sing great! Love Tanya Tucker!
@cookieman38111 Do u speak from experience? I think Glen looks very sexy with a beard; do you know how much weight he lost? That is the past; and, honestly, I am so glad that he got off that losing, addicting choice and came "back to the fold." Glen, you are such a witness of what works and what doesn't to other people on a downward spiral. I really appreciated your testimony during that interview. God Bless you and your family!
Tanya is looking great here, and imo she had one of the Top 5 female singing voices of all time.

Truly great duet! I miss him, too. Tanya's always been terrific. Thanks for sharing this.

That one little swing, holding the talent equivalent, of about 6 people!
Never cared for Glen Campbell, but thanks to Tanya this is one of the all time greatest duets.
They made beautiful music together!

I think at the end he said, “love you”. 💞
Too bad they didn't stay together. Tanya would've loved all his kids and ones they may've had had. IMO.
Love shows on both faces. Sad he died alone without her.
Really nice duet. He's holding her instead of a guitar.
Amazing how wonderful they sound together, especially sitting in a swing. That is not easy, although they make it look that way. Flawless. Thank you.
Tanya was not ready for long term .plus she snuck away to do a new song. They did love each other just not the right time.any hoo we lost a great man and guiter and singer.love u Glen.

I love her glance down at his crotch at :23 when she says "dream lover". Aha!
What city is this in the opening?
Too bad they didn't last!
did they date?

@packerbacker4ever1 No, never done cocaine. I have read her autobiography and he had a wild past. Sounds like he has it together now though.
I was told he was very abusive to her thats why they broke up....If thats true she needed to get away!
Joey Lauren Adams.

He has a beard to hide his loss of weight from coke.
