    Hey, Stanley, know to know a helpful and handy trick for turning on concrete without wearing out tires and leaving black marks?
    Sprinkle a little fine sand as they act as ball bearings...

    • @manuelorellana3646
      @manuelorellana3646 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Love that new ( for me ) trick. Live in Colorado and put it on practice next summer when doing concrete, since is winter here an off season.
      Thanks Paul.

    Stan, super important question- How well does the Case do donuts and how many can you do before you chuck your cookies?

    • @Dirtmonkey
      @Dirtmonkey  8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +Gravel Back Mechanic The Case's wheel base on this machine is to far apart to do great doughnuts. Skid steers with Short wheelbases will make you chuck cookies in about 2 minutes-they really whip around. These big bulky machines are more like steering an elephant in a circle- I could probably last 4 or 5 minutes before I got bored- or chucked cookies :)

    I don't think it's wise to reach in and try to turn a machine off on an operator. If he doesn't know you're there, you're way too close to danger. If he does know you're there, he can turn it off himself. Also, as I understand, it's bad for the turbo to shut off the engine with the RPM's up. I've been taught to always idle down before turning off a skid steer. The turbo needs time to cool before getting shut off. You can almost always hear ok with it at a low idle. You might have to grab whatever rattling plastics are in the cab though.

    • @Dirtmonkey
      @Dirtmonkey  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I only reach in and turn it off if the operator hasn't done it yet and sees someone in close proximity. They should know automatically to shut it off if someone is in the danger zone.

    Did you know that that is the exact same machine as a New Holland L230, just different paint. Case and New Holland merged a few years ago. you must watch out for the regen system and exhaust. It gets very hot and in dusty conditions it will catch fire. We had some at the farm and had to send the new one back a week later. it would catch fire everyday, we had to hose it down after every use.. FYI

    • @Dirtmonkey

    Hey Stanley keep up the good work. We run 3 Case skidloaders on our Virginia dairy farm. An SR250, an SR220, and an SR200. Did you know that you can actually adjust the sensitivity of the controls and the hydraulic flow to the booms by pressing the right sequence of buttons on the right hand control panel? I know they're not big red buttons, but it's not as hard as you think! Also these skidloaders ride better in my opinion than any others I've operated except late model JCBs. Keep up the good work:)

    I'd be pissed if you reached into my machine and turned it off, not only that but it is dangerous.

    • @Dirtmonkey
      @Dirtmonkey  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its more dangerous to leave a machine running if someone steps into your bucket.

    • @MrFakit
      @MrFakit 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Never step into a operated machine's bucket, I would not like to be on a job site with you as your actions sound aggressively dangerous.
      If you want to talk to an operator flag them from a safe distance and only approach the equipment when the operator either shuts it down or motions you to approach.

    I've rented Bobcat brand and worked for a company that had CAT and hated both. The Bobcat dies every time you try to push into a pile and are very jerky. The CAT was impossible to see the attachment plate without leaning wayyyy forward in the seat which made switching attachments a pain. I own a Case SV250 and love it. Their new DL550 Minotaur looks awesome.

    I own the SV340 and have had nothing but problems. With 350 hrs it has had 8 break downs, almost every time I go to use it it goes down. The door is a problem if you want to git in and out with the arms up even a little. It is super slow to get operating with several buttons to push with a time delay between each one. Long story short it was replaced with a Takechui. In all fairness to Case I also have a 450 Skidloader that I will never sale because I love the earlier versions.

  • @timd46
    @timd46 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I’m surprised case doesn’t get more respect. I own an SV 300 it came with solid demo tires which I hated. They where the wrong application for what I was doing. I switched them out for a taller bar patterned pneumatic tire and the thing is unstoppable. I’m going to go against the grain here and say I like the machines low stance it gives it a low center of gravity and makes it very stable. I have yet to get stuck, since the new tires. I agree 100% about some of the finishes could be better, but the machine is a tank!

  • @dankruger2890
    @dankruger2890 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did you buy a new machine? if so what did you buy? and why? Maybe make a new video. Any more, all the new machines feel like a tank compared to the old ones. Ya, the buttons have changed a lot and designs from machine to machine really do vary. I just bought a Cat 226d and its the smallest skidsteer in the cat wheeled line up. My advised for a business owner who makes his living sitting in the seat is to try the three big dealers in your area and try them out on a job before you buy. Each manufacture seems to have good and bad points. Do your research on line before sitting in any machine so you have tech specs. I bought the cat because the ride control was a button you didn't have to hold down it was either on or off and you could control the speed the ride control came on. Case has a button that you have to hold down on the joy stick which I didn't like. Small machines need ride control, it flat out works great. I got a small machine because I do a lot of driveway replacements and small is good. But don't let the 226d trick you. Its a tank that gets with the program. Try out different brand machines, try out different sizes. Make sure that machine makes you money, it doesn't have to be new. Thanks Stanley for all the good info, helping small business owner like myself.

    I got a chance to try a John Deere 270 rubber tire skid loader man would that thing push when you are scraping up sod and grass you had to be careful it would come over the top of the bucket and in the cab with you that thing was not stopping first skid steer I ever saying that would push 3 to 4 scoops in front of it without stopping

I am only going to run them in summer not in winter (I run snow tires) and wondered if taking front drive chain off is really needed, then I would have option to switch them to another machine quickly if I ever had a breakdown.

    Thanks for the review - did you feel like the lift cylinders were quite long compared to other vertical lift machines? Appears the bracing and frame over the engine is plenty stout, just seems like a lot of ram length for a machine that routinely takes a lot of stress, often with the arms at least partially raised.

    have you ran the new m series bobcat's? really fast bucket. you can flip boulders up in the air like you did the dirt. the s570 and s590 are really powerful for the frame size. like to know how you compare them to the case. just bought a s160 for a steal of a price. wanted new, but got this for $18,000 with forks, bucket, snow plow. thanks for your video.

      +hollamby75 I have tried the M series but not extensively. Can't say anything about them good or bad. How many hours and what years was that s 160?

      Hollamby75, 18k for a 2004 s160 is not a "steal of a price". you paid too much.

      +MCequipment your not in my market, nor saw the machine. Had mulitple attachments, new tires, zero rust, complete maintenance records.

      +hollamby75 my market is all over the country. sounds like a nice machine, but a good deal would have been 14-15k range.

      +MCequipment Agree. plow sold for $2,100. purchase price at $15,900. then new bobcat severe duty tires (brand new) at $330 a piece plus foam, lastly $2,200 service from dealer with 20 addition hrs from service. then the best part, residential vs commercial use. Peace man
