is it just me who uses this for ankle and foot support when scooting/bmxing? believe it or not it works because my foot and ankle are both prone to injury on that foot
I am trained in SFA, only. A few years ago, I witnessed a hit-and-run and stopped to help. The victim had his foot hanging at an odd angle off his ankle- straight, not bent at all. When wrapping the wound, should I have bent the foot back into the correct position?
No position found. If pain is unbearable carefully move to position of comfort and reassess circulation (ie. distal pulses and cap refill). Then needs splinted for transport
As a patient for over 6 years and learning from a Vein Dr specialist, this is mostly wrong. Too often starting wrap at toes allows end to slip out when walking and causing a risk of tripping. Start closer to heel and wrap down to just before toes. DONT wrap little toe, will cause pain. The wrap around ankle was good. The figure eight needs to be twice or three times higher in X wrappings. Don't worry about exposed areas. They get covered as you move up the leg. Lastly and most important wrapping needs to wrap just q/2 inch below knee crease to lock in wrapping preventing roll down and forming tight ring in leg causing severe pain and final wrap down to either top or side of shin area. Use only single ended or double ended Velcro ace on top of single or double wrap of wide kurlex. Don't use metal Ace clips..they cause open wounds.
You’d never get a sock on let alone a shoe or boot. Also the toe end of the bandage would roll up like the ring on a condom. Pretty uncomfortable to walk or stand on and would leave a red rut around the foot. I’d use Coban and less of it and tape at the toe end of the wrap to hold it in place.
You will never get a sock or shoe or boot on over all that. I can do a lot better job using Coban using a fraction of all that bulky dressing. and don't cover the heel. it is adding more bulk.
I always want my bandaging techniques to look like this ❤️ nursing is an art
PTs does it too :)

Perfect job.

Good demonstration
I did the same exact technique but had like half of the material
Most of the Kerlix are shorter. The length she had is ideal for support.
Very easy understanding
thank you
what position should the foot be while applying this?
90°

Most of what you said makes no sense and has either no effect or is counter productive.

Very helpful though you have to suffer through the horrid midwestern US accent.
