Splash Mountain holds such a special place in my heart. It was my first “Mountain” at Disneyland, and I wasn’t afraid. I fell in love with everything. My sister and I rode it back to back, the weekend that Indiana Jones opened. Close to closing, and it was pouring rain. I have never seen rain like that, since. We were about 8 and 10 years old at the time. After the first two rides, the Cast Member just let us stay in our log, without having to run through the queue again. A core memory, for sure. RIP Splash Mountain. I will never forget.
Everyone out here with their subpar Splash Mountain closing videos. Not Provost, he pulled out the big guns and got THE VOICE of Splash, Jess Harnell. Good stuff!
I'm going to miss Splash Mountain so much! I can't believe that Splash Mountain is closed forever now. What a fantastic video Chris. What a special treat to see the man behind the character's voices. I got to ride Splash Mountain for the last time on Memorial Day. The average wait time was 2 hours. 🤗
As I recall, when the ride first opened, when you went past the cave where the snores come from, the mailbox actually said "Rufus" on it. (People may remember that when you entered Bear Country - as the area was called before Splash Mountain was built -- you could hear the snores coming from a little hill beside the walking path.) Sometime later they changed it to Br'er Bear, and (I think) added the houses for Br'er Rabbit and Br'er Fox as well. The particular thing that got me the first time I rode the attraction (aside from my delight at seeing so many of our old friends from "America Sings!" -- I hope they are able to keep some of them for the Tiana version) was that second drop, the one in the dark...and the fact that after you drop, you actually go *up* for a moment, something I'd never experienced in a flume ride before! Caught me completely off-guard.
Going to miss Splash Mountain so much 😢 thanks Chris for bringing secrets revealed and letting us see it one more time if we couldn’t get there. RIP splash mountain.
Splash defined my Disneyland memories. It was my first thrill ride and I went on it with both of my parents in my pre-teens. Many good memories about this ride, I'm sad to see it go. But I'm glad I got to say good bye properly last week. Thank you for this video!
Splash Mountain holds so many memories in my lifetime, it was one of my top favorite attractions in the park. My favorite part about the ride was going through the How Do You Do scene and that song was my favorite as well. This was the very first Disneyland attraction I ever went on at the age of 4. Thank you for all the memories Splash Mountain and they will never ever be forgotten!!
I remember when they showed you your photo when you were still on the ride. The owl with a camera at the end showed it on a screen while you were waiting to get off.
Has been my favorite ride at Disneyland since 1990. I don’t love the dark ride part so much but the outdoor water ride part, all along those lovely little channels with the charming music and little birdhouses and such..also the view and the sense that you’re alone in the park, no crowds, only gentle floating along. It is still my happy place when I watch POV videos of it. So, from a little old lady who has loved it for decades - Thank you Splash Mountain!!! ❤🌟💦🌊❤️
So sad. I haven’t watched this channel for very long, but it brings back so many memories. My wife and I were there last week and we’ll never forget our last ride on the beloved Splash Mountain. BTW - if Chris was from Provo, he’d be the Provost person ever! 😂
Splash is my favorite ride at MK! I can't believe it is gone. This has been my favorite video of PPP so far! Your joy is contagious. Keep spreading the positivity and sharing your knowledge!
I stayed til closing last week and rode Splash as my last ride of the day. Sat outside near Pooh’s corner for a little while afterwards and got another set of the Splash pressed pennies before saying good bye for my last time :’)
I still haven’t been on the Tokyo version but the original will always be my favorite ride. I first rode it with my dad the first year it was open and I was amazed!
I loved your video because I absolutely love Splash Mountain! My family went there during the summer of '89 and we were all stoked up for it because we had watched Ernest goes to Splash Mountain several times. My brother and I ended up riding it 6 times that day we went. Thank you for this video!
Loving the "reunion prof. Andrew, Dallin, Cameraman Greg, Jimmy B. Good, Jess, Chris + family. Lots of care ans detail in this attraction. Few parks have attractions with such loyalty of fans. Thanks for a great video!
I’m from AZ. I went to Disneyland last week. Splash mountain is the same age as me! 34 😊. Always one of my favorites! So glad I got to ride it 4 more times last week before it shuts down. ❤️👍🏼
It won't be the same at Disneyland without the original Splash Mountain. I'll miss Splash Mountain and always cherish the memories I have made with family and friends. I'll never ride TBA at all!
So many memories with my kids on this wonderful attraction. I hoped to ride it with my granddaughter but didn’t have the chance 😢 Thanks for the memories SM ❤
This video was a great collage of your Splash moments over the years, and it had me emotional about my own Splash experiences... This ride is amazing, but it's definitely the people who ride with you that make it so wonderful! So many sweet moments and treasured memories from this ride that I wish I had recorded... Thanks for honoring this ride and our memories of it with this video. 💚💙
RIP Splash Mountain...such a great ride...I will definitely miss it. Unlike many other closed rides, we'll still have the physical structure...the "Mountain" still remaining that will remind us of the old ride (among other elements.) Excellent video as always, Chris!!
Thanks Chris for Documenting this great attraction. We love Splash Mountain almost as much as we love us some Provost Park Pass. That was amazing getting to ride with the legend himself who voiced a lot of the ride.
So sad there will be no more “Splash Mountain”😢💦 Thank you Chris for sharing all your wonderful memories and all the great information on Splash🥰 What a sweet video🤗😭
I'm only liking this video because there's not an option to LOVE this video... I love this video and love Splash Mountain. It was my favorite ride. I'm absolutely devastated by its closing. Thank you for doing such a nice video to honor it.
How fun to meet the guy who does (so many!) voices of Splash Mountain! We often don’t even think about who’s behind the voices, so that was fun to see. Thanks for sharing!
One of my favorite Disney memories was explaining to my 7yo son in the Splash Mountain line how it's a rite of passage to have an in-ride exit because the ride breaks down so often. We got all the way to the end, right next to the final Brer Rabbit animatronic, and the ride broke down. So now there is a framed picture of a soaking wet Jack standing next to a relaxed Brer Rabbit in our house. It feels weird. I've definitely been to Disneyland a lot for an Australian, but I can still count the times on both hands. I hate big drops so I didn't have a lot of passion for Splash Mountain as a ride. But I'm sad it's closed now, it's such an iconic part of the park. I hope the retheme does it proper justice.
Splash Mountain is such a special ride for our family and one of my Daughter's first thrill rides. She absolutely loves it and it made me a little emotional seeing your son grow up riding it in your montage. Looking forward to creating new memories with my family on Tiana's!
The one and only time I ever rode it, (in Florida) I almost lost my hat on the big drop! LOL! But the most amazing part was when we reached the bottom, because the Briar Patch was absolutely COVERED by a flock of seabirds! (some kind of small stork) And it was beautiful! =D
I was there on opening day for this ride with lots of great memory and it is very heartbreaking that I can not be there for it’s last day.due to its on a day I have dialysis.
I had no idea the voice of Wakko also voiced so many characters in splash mountain! Love this video for that segment especially but this was a good video I'm sure I'll come back to many times over the coming years.
OMG these facts are SO MUCH FUN!!! I love that Jess gets excited to hear himself!! The vultures are my fave. I am so glad I got to ride it the day before it closed. We rode with with birthday hats and party favors for my cousins birthday on Monday!!! (still waiting for Disney to upload our photo). Our best photo was all of us sleeping. Good times. Anyways, I spent a while on Saturday the 27th recording people's reactions on that bend coming off the drop and put it on my Instagram. It is so much joy. That drop after the bears bum gets you WAY worse than the big drop. I have so many great memories over my lifetime of going on the ride. I really look forward to what they do with it as the bayou cause Princess and the Frog is my fave!!! Thanks for doing this video!!!!
Let me start with I enjoy all of your videos 👍🏼 But I must say you did an even better job on this video! I can still remember riding this when it was brand new, it will greatly be missed 😢 RIP Splash Mountain
😭i wish i could have rode splash mtn one more time, so many fun wet memories. how cool you got to ride with Jess the voice over guy what an awesome experience to end an era. i sure do hope they keep some of the characters and place the carved critters and critters sign somewhere else as homage to this ride for memories... those items are epic. thanks for doing this for us one last time 💦🌊
I enjoyed this trip down memory lane. Your video with Jess was one of your coolest! I'm glad I was able to experience it through PPP since I never got to ride it.
Our family had the privilege of meeting you in the park a couple weeks ago (we're from Phoenix). Thanks so much for taking the time to say hello! 😊 We rode Splash 5 times in a row to say "goodbye" to our family's favorite ride. We even brought a backpack of dry clothes and shoes to change into after the drenching. Wonderful memories!
Thank you so much for sharing and explaining the story behind splash mountain. Im glad I got to ride splash with my 7 and 10 year old before it closed. Both my kids did not like the last drop at all but I know it's a core memory, and of course the picture with their face of pure terror they'll have forever 😂
I was there for the final day but I didn’t see you there, wish I did. It was amazing to see how much of a line formed. 4 hours by the end of the day, yesterday was just a little too cold for me to ride splash mountain again and I didn’t feel like waiting for 4 hours. It’s a ride that will be sorely missed
The fact that I can’t hear zipadeedoda while I’m at Disneyland anymore is insane to me. I’d even be happy if they kept it as a song to play as you walk around any land. It represents just the Disney vibe to me.
Thanks for a great tribute Vlog. Brings back my memories off first trip to Disneyland in 1996. I am now looking for my ride photo . Again thanks Chris ,Family and Team
Hey Chris! Mark (firefighter) from Chico. First off, let me say it was an absolute pleasure and honor to meet you in person at Universal last week. I must say, you taller then you appear in your videos! Lolol I'm most definitely gonna miss Splash Mountain! America sings was one of my favorites as a child! So it always made Splash Mountain characters even more special to me. 😢 This was just an absolutely awesome video you did on it! As always, thank you for all you do and for always lifting us up in life! You too my friend are just an amazing friend and your family is just as amazing and special! Love you guys!
You forgot about the photo op owl at the end. The figure was just past brer rabbit's last scene. The owl would chat, comment, and show your splash picture.
RIP Splash Mountain! Riding Splash Mountain with the voice of Br'er Rabbit is the coolest flex I've seen in awhile. LEGENDARY. Also, if anyone hasn't seen America Sings, the full show is on YT!
I saw AMERICA SINGS in 1976 when I was 10 and I remember the eagle w/ the Uncle Sam hat. Did DisneyWORLD also use characters from that show for its Splash Mtn?
I remember in the beginning, Disney was having a challenge that the boats tended to overturn when testing empty. They discovered the boats were stable when you had some weight inside. Road it with mom at 10 pm because of the closures… And on the fear sign, one time a lady was scared of Soarin' because you can't see inside the theater building. Coaxed her inside, somehow lost her (should have held her hand for good measure), but when we met back up outside, she was overjoyed with one of the most gentle rides in the park. Only challenge is for acrophobics, and it's the best ride for them with which to face their fears…
I was the last employee to test ride splash be for soft opening to the public.. I was the only person on the ride..the ride works said they had to wait for me to go through the ride before they could let anyone on..
Great video Chris! Sad to see Splash Mountain go but hoping Frog Mountain is great too. Hope to see you at Universal Hollywood on the 9th or Disney on the 12th.
Thank you for this great video! I will miss Splash Mountain, but the memories are unforgettable! Love how you highlighted all the good times this ride has offered!
That ride holds my oldest Disneyland memories. 😢 We we’re very verrrrrry poor as kids but ONCE we went on vacation (tax returns) and we went to Disneyland and stayed with my step sister. I have only a few memories of that trip but I remember Splash Mountain, Country Bear Jamboree and It’s a Small World.❤
For many years, around 27 years, we collected photos of the family falling in the log (Disneyland or WDW) for each ride. Last April 26th, we climbed with my daughter and son-in-law for a last ride at 10pm and I finished totaly and absolute soaked in the worst way possible in comparison with my many other rides; even the bills within my wallet needed a dry. The return to the hotel in Escondido, around midnight was totally fun. Thanks for the memories Brer Bear, Fox and Rabbit. We also miss America Sings but now ready for Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Greetings from Mexico
If you loved splash mountain, please “like” and “share” this video! We would appreciate it so much. 💙💚 thanks for being amazing!!
I have America Sings from April 1986 on my channel.
❤
I never give it on splash mountain because I care for it not Tiana’s bayou adventure!!!
Splash Mountain holds such a special place in my heart.

I love how this ride has fake out drops and happy songs and vultures that mock you as you await the tall final drop.
