Yeah, we hear about these famous FBOs in Australia. Here we get a club house with a fridge full of soft drink with a 'honour system' with a jar to pay into. Maybe clean toilets, maybe, and usually a 4-5mile walk to the main centre of town.

I've always hated misleading thumbnails trying to get me to watch the video. At least you're not that guy.
All these comments calling out your FBO mistake are wrong. The original abbreviation, invented in 1906, stood for "Fortuitous Bathroom Option". Read a history book.
I went to an FBO once, they made me pump my own gas, there was only some kind of atm that only took money, and the building was so small it only had room for a hose and a spool of steel cable. The only saving grace was the modern open air concept of the bathroom.
I am torn, the vieo was great, but I can't help but think real FBO reviews would make fantastic videos. What do I know, you are the smart one on youtube. I just have a lousy day job. My suggestions are probably terrible.
I've been toying with the idea of spending up a second channel just reviewing FBO's so people know what amenities they have and can help decide where they want to stop while doing cross-countries

Back in the day (80s) at my field, one of the open air hangars that backed against a T hangar had a modified oil barrel with kitty litter in it. That was it for facilities. Now it's quite posh. They're building air conditioned full bathrooms among the hangars, and a nice commercial ice machine.

I never knew what a FBO was. Just call it a fboo. Thank heavens for this video. Now I know it is a really crappy looking building with a rusty door knob and behind that facade some sort of a time portal to another world. Glad you got back out. Don't want to get stucked in another dimension.

That's the most mortifying FBO I've ever seen...why was there no "piss bush" behind the hangar?! And what was with all the carpeting?!?!! Thank God for the little bistro bar. Keep the raccoons away from MY sandwich that I saved in the back of the C152 for the past four hours.

LOL. That FBO is a real craphole. Funny note, the owner of that airport had a cow when we were based there about people walking across the runway to get to the cafe. Or just to see what's on the other side. One day, I saw three brick sized chunks of asphalt or concrete at the north end on the runway. I called the owner to report it and he said if I came to his office he'd give me a broom. I politely reminded him that we aren't allowed to walk on the runway and hung up. So glad we are at Denton!

Did this FBO have a dedicated phone for Flight Service? I didn’t see the glass case with engine oil or the fuel prices posted. Was that somewhere else in the facility?
Absolutely disgusting conditions. I think you should stay there longer, and fully document how bad it is.. We wouldnt tolerate those conditions in Oz, at least ours have a rusted patina corrugated iron thunder box that is situated in full sun so that you get to experience the full atmosphere of the installation..

Serious FBO reviews would help, too! Wish all FBOs had the public bubbly urinal. I’d rather use that than the non flushing sideways curtained potty on a cabin class twin after it’s been had at by a 300lb linebacker the morning after that 5lb barbecue rib dinner.
Embassy suites are such a nice hotel chain. Some of the best breakfasts.

Hi Brian/Bryan/Brhyan/Brian/Bhryan/Brian???,,,, Mr. Super studly pilot! (That's it). That Foundon, Base, Over-priced outfit looks kinda rough. I think I stayed there once. Here at KTOA we have a few businesses but no FBO as one would know it at all! Shucks, for a thousand a month you get a stainless steel toilet with a lizard in it (really), potholes in the taxiways (we have a few missing planes after they landed) and sometimes the lights and access gates even work! I'd say be happy for watcha got, even if it's a bit rough 😂. Keepbthe reviews coming!

That FBO looked just like the one I stayed in Houston.
To me it seemed at least somewhat adequate and minimally tolerable.
I was always told that FBO was Fixed Base of Operations.... not Flying Business Office. :)
Our local airport has a new concrete 4000’x70’ runway, a really nice fuel farm that works 2 out of 4 weeks and our fbo is literally a port-a-potty.
Such a nice runway/taxi’s and all they provide is a portable toilet lol

@@k5sss I agree! I just wish the town would provide an fbo. No courtesy car, expensive gas, and a portapotty. Missing out on our airport generating traffic to our neat little town.
My local field is pretty nice. Landscaped taxi ways and landscaping around the hangars. Air conditioned full bathrooms among the hangars. Commercial ice machines. It helps that the current manager started as a line guy.
