I love both grinds however the BPS full grind is great if your going to also use the knife for food processing. There is more for a knife than just carving. I use my knife for cleaning fish etc... By-the-way, BPS is a Ukrainian knife company and it supplies the Ukrainian Army with knives for FREE. I purchased three knives for myself and my sons to help support them and they are awesome knives. I did purchase the bushcraft knife adventurer, but I like this one and I'll probably buy this one for us as well. Thank you from your friends in Florida 🌴
Well brother,I’ve never heard of this company or it’s knives but I have now. I will be ordering at least two of them today. Thanks for letting us know about new products,we appreciate it.
So pleased you brought BPS Knives up. In October I got delivery of the BPS Knives HK5 full tang w/ wooden scales and the same sheath that comes with all their knives it seems. Inexpensive, my interest was in finding SOME item made in Ukraine I might buy, in the way of support... so for less than 40 bucks I figured I could not get hurt. 1066, by my hand on stones & hones, and by eye is, naturally, softer than 1095 so re-profiling the 'factory' scandi-grind to the broad radiused edge I prefer was no problem with hand tools, seated in a chair. I presume 1066 will be rather tough. The *one size fits all our knives* sheath was, in my opinion, stiff and dry but all the leather items I buy feel stiff and dry, so as usual I saturated it with my custom leather oil compound and let it sit for two days. About a month later I bought the Savage Bushcraft as you did (though by then I had given the HK5 to my nephew). My Savage arrived Dec. 9th and there was little for me to do since a full-flat geometry is another one I like though I favor an asymmetrical edge where, for a Right-handed person, the knuckle side is as flat as I can get it with no bevel and essentialy no micro-bevel either. This results in a geometry resembling a Japanese sushi knife for a Lefty which is flat on the thumb side, then I put a significant bevel on My thumb side. This is a trick I learned decades ago as a line cook in the 70s. This shape on the thumb side helps the edge kinda slide over and not catch the fingernails when you are moving fast. More juice for this sheath and I think I will hold on to this one for a while. I feel that this is an excellent way for a small-fry like me to help out.
Hello Dave, I agree, BPS Knives make good stuff. I ordered three different models of their product line. And I can tell they are worth it, like them. Good value. Thanks for showing! Grüße aus Deutschland! Torsten
Sharp video and your audio was well polished! Thanks for all the great info. Those were some top notch knives and the price was a real “steel” 😂 looks like you have a real handle on all of these matters! Keep grinding away my friend, you’re carving out some great content! 😉 🔪 🏕️
Lol...I own 5 of these. I found them about a year or so ago while looking at European makers. Cannot beat the value fir money. My favorite is the bc1. It's a copy of the Condor bushlore which I own aswell. Half the price and I can't tell the difference. Oh Bog oak is oak that has been sitting in a wetland submerged for a long time. Pretty cool. And yes a great video as always. Stay safe out there
Bought one of these (BK06) about 2 months ago, came with sheath and Ferro rod. One the best sheath knives I have ever bought. Quality is top notch. Feels good in your hand. I thought balance was good. Dangler/belt loop sheath is outstanding. Thank for showcasing a really good product.
I’ve had a great experience with all of my BPS knives so far, I’m glad you gave them a shout out, I think they are just as good or better than a lot of my “mainstream” branded knives. My favorite is the HK5 ,my girlfriend even thinks it’s cool! Thanks David and Nick!
I’m not one to usually watch reviews but I have to say, you have a way of even making a knife comparison demonstration an adventure 😁…thanks for sharing! Be well! & Stay safe! 😊
Hi Dave! As usual, the paces you put these two knives through is fluffless, practical, and helpful. Brother, you are the go-to place for straight up reviews. As for me, I am partial to the BK06 camp knife. Blessings to you and Nick.
I like both knives but I feel better knowing and seeing that my knife is full tang. In a survival situation I would feel better also knowing it was full tang but if I was just camping I would have no problem with the BKO6 camp knife. I'm like you I never baton with a knife and never have because that is not what they are for. Here in Texas I can always find plenty of wood on the ground I don't need too. Your right the full tang is what sales. Great review and thanks for making it. Kelly from Texas !
Nice job Dave, I appreciate it very much! Over the years I've had a bunch of knives and I still fall back to my Randall as my main carry knife in the woods. But I've had it for 50 years and they're not inexpensive. Stay safe keep the faith brother
I have 2 of the BPS knives. Mine were both around $33. Full tang. Exposed tang at the end. Extremely sharp blade and 90° spine. Excellent thick leather dangler sheaths. I wouldn't have got that camp knife you bought. Not full tang. Good video Dave. HK15 and HK5 are the ones I bought. That Savage looks like the handle is rather wimpy and undersized. I don't know why they didn't make it a little beefier.
I do rough work with axes and machetes so, Im easy on knives and dont beat on them. Scandi grind is usually my first choice. Im glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
I have the BPS knock-off of the Mora HD. It is full tang, and except for its tendency to rust, it has become my main neck knife. I blued it, and I put beeswax on it as maintenance, and for my use, it is ten out of ten. :)
Scandi is the winner hands down! Great show. Thanks for sharing Dave. My wife asked if you can gather some of that rotten wood termite free for her hugelkultur garden 😂
Love BPS knives! The adventurer is a full tang with Scandi, and is superb. They also offer excellent customer service. Another great video! Thanks for sharing!
BPS knives are great! I have 3 of them, none of which are one of those lol. I can't remember the model nbrs other than the Adventurer, and I have the one that looks like the Condor Bushlore, and the one with a slight recurve. 1066 is ok, but nothing special. It's fairly tough, but won't hold it's edge for long. It sharpens easily, and if you don't let it go entirely dull, it strops back to sharp pretty well. I've enjoyed using mine. Mine are all scandi grinds, and I blued 2 of them to hopefully keep the rust at bay. I use my pocket knife for food normally, so I'm not worried about the bluing contaminating my food, but I did leave one of them raw steel. I may do a apple cider vinegar patina on that one. 1066 WILL rust if you don't maintain it. The scandi grinds work great, but I am thinking of getting the Savage too. I always enjoy your videos Dave. Thanks for the years of very helpful and educating work you have put into your videos!!!
Yes they are really good knives! I usually do the same and keep my knives stropped and rarely let them get really dull. I'm glad you like the videos and thanks for watching!
BPS knives are one of my favorites. I have 3 different kinds from a super sharp and love them, and I also have a couple of their sheaths for different knives that I have. I also buy a couple blanks and put my own handles on their super affordable great little project knife
Hello David. I bought the Adventurer, has the fire steel. Bought the bush craft. And then bought the sheath with the with the rod sleeve. I then did a forced patina on them. I used a coat of Obenaufs on the sheaths. Worked out well. The sheaths are great as well. Have a great weekend. TAKE CARE..
Been a fan of BPS knives for a few years now, got my first early in 2021. That HK5S has served me well as the all around camp knife; carving, notching, and even some light battoning of kindling. The 1066 blade is 1.2" wide and .11 thick, so its quite a good slicer. Have a total of 4 BPS knives with blade lengths of 3.5", 4.1", 4.5" to 5.1" and all have the Scandi grind and are 1066 carbon steel. The smaller ones live with the "kitchen" cooking stuff, the 4.5" is a spare buried in the bottom of my main pack. Back when I went hog wild buying them, BPS knives were between $21 and $35, all with sheaths that were worth the price of admission by themselves. 1066 seems to hold a decent edge. If used as designed, a good stropping is all that's needed at the end of the day. I do have 'bigger' toys for harder jobs; just like in any tool box, use the right tool for the job and you will not be disapointed. But you already knew that.
I have several of the bps knives with the scandi grind. The one I have are all 1066 carbon. I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a better knife at their price point. Great video.
I picked up the BPS Adventurer, it's kind of like the camp knife you are testing, but with a full tang. Also, the sheath has a small ferro rod on it. Liked it enough to buy another one and then the Nighthawk version. It's the same as the Adventurer, but it has black scales and a black sheath. Of course my wife claimed the Nighthawk. lol The scales on the Nighthawk were just a bit to small and the tang stuck out in a few spots. For $42 it isn't realistic to expect perfect fit and finish. I was going to just hit it with the belt sander, but I contacted BPS to just order a new set of scales. Instead, they explained that a small batch of wood was having an issue with shrinking so the sent meva new set, that fit perfectly, on their dime. That kind of customer service is what will keep me coming back.
Thanks for another exciting video Dave! People can always trust what you say about gear because you don't get paid to pretend something is good if it's not. 👍
Hi bigmonkey the bps adventure is scandi grind stainless steel and full tang and it beats both of them in my opinion same price same company great video as always peace and love from 1 leg UK England
Great video and review Dave, and I liked the looks of the brown handled one the best, and I think after your review they may start making it in a full tang since you said that's what most of us want in case we're batonning for toughness, and those sheaths are very thick sturdy leather and very well made too. Thanks again and we will see you on the next one.Oh and you had that block of wood smoking pretty quickly doing that with your hands and not a bow.Take care.
Thanks Dennis, Im glad you liked it. I think I do like that knife the best with the scandi grind. I personally like batoning with a machete or splitting with an axe but a lot of folks love batoning so they will want a full tang. Im guessing I could have had a fire with that wood! Thanks for watching
Hey, Dave! Wow, you've got two killer deals in your hands right now! I checked Amazon and you can get both knives for the same price of $40, or both of them as a bundle for $73. Now, I've always been a flat grind sort of guy, but once I started watching your videos, I saw the value of a Scandi grind, and here's why: The flat grind knife is easier to maintain a good edge on because the angle of the grind is more acute and thus is already angling to an edge, but the trade off is that the steel of the blade is weaker and more prone to breakage, so in the bushcrafting world, it's not as versatile because I'd never trust a flat grind knife to burrow holes in wood like you would for making a hand-drill or bow drill for making fire, but the scandi is beefier and less apt to break. If it sounds like I love both knives, I do! Haha! I believe I'd use the flat grind for curls and slicing veggies and such and the scandi for the brunt of the work load, but if I had to only have one, it'd be the scandi, but that's me. (I am never above having more than one blade on me at a time, though). Thanks once again for making my Friday start out with some wonderful video watching, Dave. You really make the Fridays you're on here with something new really cool! Rock on, brother!
Good comments! I pretty much love scandi grinds for all woodworking and bushcraft chores. Full flat grinds are better for skinning, filleting and cook duties. I'm glad you like the videos and thanks for watching my friend!
Hv 2 of the hk 1s.. Over a year now with no regrets. Peeled some Brazilian pepper wood & it puts a nice dark patina on em. Skinned out a few hogs too.. So far they hv been the perfect size for my need's..
I am a new member of your channel - I am a huge nerd and love to learn things and have recently been researching these sort of things. You are frigging awesome at explaining things to a newbie like me. I have some requests that I would like to send your way, but can't see how.
Most questions can be posted on any of my videos and I'll usually see them and answer them. TH-cam had a private messaging feature years ago but they did away with it. I signed up for Instagram right after that for messages no one wanted in the comments section. I'm under the name Reallybigmonkey1 on Instagram
Thank you very much for the review on these knives. I totally agree with you about the different grinds being good for different things. If I'm going out to do a specific task I will grab the knife that works best for that job. With that said it's also nice to be able to use the different grinds for what they're not designed to do. So you're proficient with all for those just in case moments. Thanks for taking your time to share your knowledge with us. It is appreciated. God bless and stay safe to you and your family.
You are very welcome Rich and Im glad you liked it. Good point, learn to use any knife for any task and youll always be prepared. Thanks for watching and may God bless you too!
Flat grinds work great for pocket knives and cutting rope...outside of that in a survival situation I prefer the following.....CPM3v or Elmax A full tang ( not rat tail ) a 1/4 blade thickness with a sharp 90 degree spine ( must strike a ferro rod ) blade length of at least 6" and 7" would be perfect ( better for battoning ) and finally the most important feature on a Survival knife which I feel there is a difference between Bushcraft and Survival and that is your knife grind in my opinion needs to be convex. Yes I like SCANDI but I find SCANDI only suited for small tasks whereas CONVEX has more versatility and holds an edge longer especially if you are splitting wood. For my scandi grind brothers out there yes they make curls like crazy but in survival your tasks will encompass so much more...give Convex a try. Very nice bushcraft knives Dave. I am sure you will love them.
Thanks for the comments! To me theres three different cases for knives, 1.survival 2. bushcraft 3 cooking skinning filleting. Im glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Good morning, Dave. Great show. Thank you. I like Skandi-grind, but I'm not a fan of rat-tailed tang because some can twist in the handles down the road. (especially if they've gotten wet and dried out a few times). But that's just personal preference. I don't know if they make a skandi-grind in full tang, but that's my favorite. (Please send some of that good weather up to Maine) 😂 Have a blessed day, my friend.
Hi David, I was watching this again because I forgot that I’d already seen it, but it was just as good the second time! I was going to tell you, I saw a Stromeng KS9 the other day that was just like yours from Norway! What a beautiful knife, I can see why you like it so much! Going to have some coffee now, hope you’re well! ☕️☕️☕️👍🏻
Dave, my better sense tells me I shouldn't be doing it, but it is getting late for an old man. I watch your videos nonstop some days. Today I was watching another of my Favorites, Cowboy Kent Rollins. He had 2.4 million viewers, let's pick it up Dave.. No really, He has loyal viewers and so do you. He's a cook, you are a bushcrafter and you are both excellent. Don't let the count get you down. Keep being the same, and I will keep following you.
@@Reallybigmonkey1 I hope you are on the sweet spot with all you have to do. I have loved every story and education. I especially liked your summer tarp experiment in your back yard. Come on over! :) Thanks Dave and Nick.
Their leather goods are SO nice, my Garberg & my Terrasaur both live nicely in them with uberleben ferro rods in the attached holders! Highly recommended, let your fingers walk @Amazon! Great show Dave & an honest, boots on the ground type of testing that proves you do NOT need to spend mega$$$ on one very essential piece of kit, yer naff...! Happy trails and ❤️ ya Brother!
Interesting! I can’t help wondering about the final bevel on that full flat knife. I’m itching to look at it with the 10X loupe from the bench next to my 2x72 belt machine - then maybe alter that angle a bit…🙄
Another excellent knife testing video from you, done with that unique understanding you always seem to have when it comes to cutting tools. I went to order one of the other knives in this company's collection, but out of stock just now. Not unexpected really,in the circumstances. Can't believe the price compared with other brands, and still with such quality. Thanks for sharing this video as not heard of this company before. Great video and watch. Many thanks, and, as always, stay well.
You are very welcome Spencer and I'm glad you liked it! It doesn't surprise me they are out of stock. I'm hearing with their prices they are a very popular company! Thanks for watching my friend
Consumate artistry, Dave! -- with the knives and camera both. As it happens, I picked up the flat grind model recently, and one of their full tang scandi grinds previously. The flat grind excels for food prep tasks too, as well as game processing like you mention. About the most savage cutting I'm likely to do is sawing on a hunk of meat or block of cheese! And I completely agree with your appraisal of their "category" -- since I don't own any fancy blades, these are my premium cutting tools!
Thanks Robert! I gotta agree with you. That Savage is more of a meat skinned filleting cook knife. The scandi one is pure bushcraft. Thanks for watching brother
Mtn man here from the smokies of nc setting here on Friday night watching fun in the woods 🐺 all ways good to watch ur vids U being out side rain gone be down in the 20 tonight here 👍👍
I absolutely love bps... so much so that a started a review channel 2 years ago specifically to get more information and exposure to this humble company. That 1066 is some of the toughest carbon steel I have ever used, and I prefer it to 1095 and the likes for its superior deformation resistance. They have quite a few designs that I prefer to your choices, and guessing from your channel i would say that the bs2fts is probably the best model for your needs. Anyways, thanks for getting more exposure to these guys. Amazing products at a super fair price and outstanding customer service. Get em while they are still cheap
I love these knives thank you for reviewing the flat grind I haven’t tried it yet. I have purchased several of thier knives I think my favorite is the hk5 full tang and skandi grind ( best of both worlds in my humble opinion ) these definitely are well made knives & sheaths !! And omg the price cannot be beat for what you get !!
You are very welcome and Im glad you liked it! The full flat grind is nice but I think its better suited towards skinning, filleting or cook chores. Thanks for watching
Way to show actual knife uses instead of just hammering it through logs, then complaining that a $30 knife didn't perform like a $300 knife. BPS makes a solid, affordable knife.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Tagging them guys wouldn't do anything I bet. Anytime I ever commented on there videos they never answered me so I stopped watching. Thanks for watching Miguel
Great demonstrations Dave, both seemed like really great knifes. If I had to pick one it would be the camp knife. I don’t require all my knives to be full tang, as a matter of fact it’s a advantage to me as a neck knife cause of the lighter weight. These days I like my gear to be lighter anyway. I’m not one for batoning either with a knife, but if I do I have tools for that. Bring old school I really like leather sheaths. I’m sold on these knives and will go shopping, other than a mora it’s hard to find that quality at that price. Also I really like the looks of the camp knife, it’s very traditional like. Thanks Dave.
Thanks Alan, Im glad you liked it and you think like me! Full tang doesnt matter because I dont baton and a scandi grind is my first choice. Thanks for watching
Thank you for the review. I've seen the name BPS for a while now. For some reason, I thought it stood for Bass Pro Shop. 🤔 I'll have to check them out.
My Opinel knives will do a lot of wood work, but they are better at slicey dicey stuff. My Mora will cut/chop food, but it’s better at wood work. The same with the knives you were using. As you demonstrated, both blade grinds can be used to do a lot of tasks, but each grind has its place. ✌️🇺🇸😘👏👏👏👏 Have a great weekend.
Dave, I have a couple of BPS knives and love them. I have the flat grind one that I would use more for food prep and have the BPS Adventurer Bushcraft knife (full tang) that comes with a ferro rod for $39.95 on Amazon. The Adventurer is my wood working knife as it has the scandi grind. I’m glad to see that you’re out there using their knives and enjoying the great outdoors. I, like you, enjoy trying different knives. I told myself a couple of weeks ago that I wasn’t going to buy another fixed blade knife. That lasted a whole week 😂. Bought a Hultafors and my excuse was that I hadn’t tried that companies knives. No kidding, I’m not going to buy another knife until I find one I havent tried. 😊
Very cool to hear that! Lol, I tell myself all the time I don't want any new knives but never stick to it. Is that the same Hultafors the same company that makes axes? Thanks for watching
Yes it is. It’s the Hultafors Craftsman, $12.99 on Amazon. It’s comparable to a Mora price wise. No square back to throw sparks, but I’m working on it. No luck so far. Still cuts wood really well and is a handy little knife.
Hi David, Very interesting comparison. When those knives first came out, I was told that the steel used in those knives was salvaged from destroyed Russian tanks. It is for this reason why they could be sold at low prices. I do not know how true the knife story is but it was the story tthat accompanied the knives as they opened the market in the US. I just thought that I would add this sidenote. When that war is over these knives are likely to explode in cost and collectibility. I have been thinking about adding two or three of each style to my collection, just as an investment. One to use and two to set back in pristine condition. The Slavic people have an intensely high interest in well made knives and really know how to make them. Svord brand knives are a highly respectable brand of knife made in Czechia. But every Slavic nation has great knifemakers. I suspect that because of the popularity of Swedish and Norwegian knives and axes, the Slavs will much more pronounced in the near future. Their knowledge of knife, sword and axe making, even warhammers, is very old going way back in time to when the Romans ruled. The Ukrainians have a very proud history of knives. The Cossacks of the Ukraines even do knife dances with incredible throwing accuracy as they dance. There are videos on TH-cam of both Russian and Ukrainian Cossacks dancing and culture. Theirs was a warrior society of many tribes. Their horsemanship and blade use on horseback is nothing less than stunning. Look them up on you tube and sit back on your couch with a nice mug of cold sweetened iced tea and relax as you watch how they handle a four foot long steak knife or rather sword and how they throw knives at each other's feet. There is incredible beauty in their culture even dancing without knives. Well, God willing, I'll talk at you later and God bless you and the ones you love ! A friend always !
I like the Adventurer, 5" and the BS2FTS, 4". I put the BS2 in an Esee PR4 sheath with a plastic insert, it rides better on my belt. The 1066 steel seems fine to me. No complaints. Thank you.
Another fine review! Testing the two knives side by side was most helpful; I have seen people explaining their preference for one grind over another, but this was the first comparison I have seen with knives from the same steel, and I expect same heat treat. You showed the utility of the two grinds very well. I have the BPS 1 with scandi grind, but have not put it to use yet. Think I will buy a BPS with a flat grind because the Scandi looks lonely. By the way, tell me about that axe, please. Looked very useful, though the handle looked a bit long for strapping to a pack. Please keep your videos coming. I have a lot of your videos from before to catch up on, but I would like more to keep me going well into future. McCoy
Thanks McCoy, I'm glad you liked it. Both these knives worked well but I'm thinking the full flats grind would be better for cooking chores rather than wood carving. That axe is a German Oshenkopf and it's going to be on another upcoming video. Take care and thanks for watching
I ordered a Savage, can't wait to try it out. You have piqued my curiosity about the Schrade that was almost unusable. Did you do a video on that one and I missed it? I'd like to see your take on the Ontario RAT6 in S35VN. It's another full flat grind but really nice price for a made in the US knife in a super steel. Love your vids.
I didn't do a video on the Schrade knife, I hate making an entire video trashing a knife. If I remember it was a sch56 something. Horrible knife. I love Ontario's but I'm not a huge fan of full flat grinds. I'm glad you like the videos!
Dave, thanks for bringing me along. :) BPS knives get mixed reviews, some are great some not so great. Kind of like condor. I do have an esee 6hm I like for yardwork. You should try a brisa knife, you can get a kit or a bare blade , I like them.
Mixed reviews and I noticed a lot of people batoning them and damaging them. For the price, they are great for cutting and carving. Amazing how years ago Condor never got bad reviews but now they do. Thanks for watching
HELLO! EVERYONE FROM HOUSTON TEXAS USA. I LIKE BOTH KNIFE'S BUT THE CAMPING KNIFE I'T NOT TO LONG OR WIDE IT LOOKS LIKE IT FITS GOOD IN THE HAND . OVERALL THEY LOOK LIKE FINE STEAK KNIFES THANKS DAVE 🔪
Have had the Adventurer for a bit over a year and a) re: the 1066 steel, it needs resharpening / stropped a bit more often than my 1095’s, but it is sooo tough I wouldn’t hesitate to baton it and b) I make leather sheaths for all of my knives, but this one was so good I didn’t. Love these knives 😊 Oh, and if you want to take the handle scales off to replace or add some rust resistance to your blade, the scale screws come off like a dream
I’ve had the BPS adventurer for about 2 years. I really like it. I’ve only used it a small amount. But I’ve been carrying it more. My only issue is I’m left handed. That’s the reason it didn’t get the use. I had planned on finding a left hand sheath but just haven’t . I really like how it’s grinded it is one of the sharpest knives I ever bought. I believe you would have more use for Adventurer or the BPS B1 they are the best designs I’ve seen so far.
I took a look and I only see the Savage as being in stock and available. They make several knives, but the Savage looks like the most modern design. I haven't purchased anything from Schrade in a while. I don't know if their blades are as good or have declined in quality, but I remember that a few years ago they were making some great knives.
PBS is bad about selling out of everything pretty fast. Yep, years ago Schrade was pretty good but the last few items I recieved were terrible quality. Thanks for watching
Hey Dave, I'd go with either one, but the only thing I'd do would be to modify the Camp knife with a hole in the handle for a lanyard. It seems to me the Savage would be more apt for fileting fish and skinning than bushcraft and camping. I like them both, though. Thanks for the review.
Seems similar quality to Moras. Flat grinds are not ideal for curls. The flat grind bites, and digs into the wood. Thanks for the comparison of the two! I'll stick with my 73 forge blades. Thanks for sharing with us Dave!
Hello Dave. You put these through more of a practical test than torture test. I understand the thoughts of, you've gotta use what you've got. But some guys take a knife that size, and go at it like they're gonna build a log cabin rather than survive a day or two. These both look like nice knives. It's a shame they are not both full tang blades, choice would be real easy then. Hey brother, great job on showing both blades. Keep up the great work and stay safe. God bless you and your family and have a blessed day my friend.
I'm glad you liked it Brian. I'm a big advocate of using the right tool for the right job for bushcraft or camping. For survival tho, anything goes! Thanks for the comments and thanks for watching
I have 5 BPS knives, my favorite of all of them is the B1 sometimes called the B1CS. It's full tang and is kind of like the Ray Mears Bushlore. I did file in a sharp 90 degree spine on all of them.
The BPS are good knives. I have the Savage and I modified mine. I sanded the wooden handles with 2,000 grit sand paper to give them a nicer finish and I also used gun blue on the blade so now the knife is all black.
Here's a link to view all their knives

Pls start a Rumble page.....
Thanks for the comments Richard and Thanks for watching Brother
Hello from Ukraine! Thank you very much to your people for supporting my people in such a difficult time! Thank you from all the people of Ukraine!🙏
@@andgar1812 🙏 Prayers for all of you!
Well brother,I’ve never heard of this company or it’s knives but I have now. I will be ordering at least two of them today. Thanks for letting us know about new products,we appreciate it.
Sounds great Randy! Im new to them but really like their knives! Thanks for watching
Thanks for the info!
Hello Dave, I agree, BPS Knives make good stuff. I ordered three different models of their product line. And I can tell they are worth it, like them. Good value. Thanks for showing! Grüße aus Deutschland! Torsten
Hello Torsten! I figured Id give them a try and Im pretty happy with these knives! Thanks for watching
Sharp video and your audio was well polished! Thanks for all the great info. Those were some top notch knives and the price was a real “steel” 😂 looks like you have a real handle on all of these matters! Keep grinding away my friend, you’re carving out some great content! 😉 🔪 🏕️
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! I'm very pleasantly surprised at the quality of these. Thanks for watching and now go enjoy some coffee!😁
☕️ absolutely! 😃
I bought one in 2021. Very good quality.
Great to hear that!
Good Morning from Boston. Great to start my day with you Dave!
And a good morning to you too Donna! Thanks for watching
Perfect timing. I just came in from the woods to find a new video from my favorite bushcrafter. Thanks for the review Dave!
Very cool to hear that Steve! Im glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Stay safe out there
Very cool to hear that! I agree, these are a much better value than any of the Condors. Take care and thanks for watching brother
@@Reallybigmonkey1 you to
Thank you for sharing this video! A great way to start the day. Very informative and useful comparison on the knives.
Thanks Robin, Im glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Fantastic to hear that Roger! Im glad you liked it, Its hard to beat it for value. Thanks for watching
What a great test Dave! So helpful. Thanks!!
Thanks, Im glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!
Hi Dave, thanks for sharing your outdoor fun in the woods. Have a great time, Michael
You are very welcome Michael and thanks for watching brother
Both Performed Nicely On Your Tests, Thanks Davey ! Hay Nick. Have A Great Weekend Friends. ATB T God Bless
Yep, Im pretty happy with both! Im glad you liked it. Thanks for watching and may God bless you too Terry!
I’ve had a great experience with all of my BPS knives so far, I’m glad you gave them a shout out, I think they are just as good or better than a lot of my “mainstream” branded knives. My favorite is the HK5 ,my girlfriend even thinks it’s cool! Thanks David and Nick!
Fantastic to hear that! BPS are definitely way above average for their price range. Thanks for the comments and thanks for watching
I’m not one to usually watch reviews but I have to say, you have a way of even making a knife comparison demonstration an adventure 😁…thanks for sharing! Be well! & Stay safe! 😊
Thank you! Im glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Hi Dave! As usual, the paces you put these two knives through is fluffless, practical, and helpful. Brother, you are the go-to place for straight up reviews. As for me, I am partial to the BK06 camp knife. Blessings to you and Nick.
Thanks, Im glad you liked it. Thanks for watching anf Nick says hello!
Always informative and thanks for introducing a new brand!! Seems well worth the price. Thank you for all you do for us! Blessings
Thanks, Im glad you liked it. Definitely worth the prices! Thanks for watching
Thanks for the comments Kelly and thanks for watching!
Nice job Dave, I appreciate it very much! Over the years I've had a bunch of knives and I still fall back to my Randall as my main carry knife in the woods. But I've had it for 50 years and they're not inexpensive. Stay safe keep the faith brother
Thanks, Im glad you liked it. A Randall made knife is a life long keeper! Thanks for watching
Well, I might have to try one of those! Thanks for another excellent video, Dave! 👍👍
Sounds great Shawn and Im glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Same experience with these grinds. Thanks for the review
Im glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
I always look forward to seeing your videos, great job.
Fantastic to hear that and Im glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
I have the BPS knock-off of the Mora HD. It is full tang, and except for its tendency to rust, it has become my main neck knife. I blued it, and I put beeswax on it as maintenance, and for my use, it is ten out of ten. :)
That's good to hear it's such a good knife!
Nice test, David. BPS is well worth the money.
Thanks, Im glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
I learn a lot from you. Thanks for your videos!
Fantastic to hear that Bill!
We love the pant chamo pattern! Excellent video, "Old Dave "!!! 👍😎🇨🇦📷🗡⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks Marian, Im glad you liked it. I think its a British desert pattern. Thanks for watching
Scandi is the winner hands down! Great show. Thanks for sharing Dave. My wife asked if you can gather some of that rotten wood termite free for her hugelkultur garden 😂
Oh scandi grind is always first choice for bushcraft chores! Im glad you liked it. Man I have no idea what a Hugelkutur is! Thanks for watching
Love BPS knives! The adventurer is a full tang with Scandi, and is superb. They also offer excellent customer service. Another great video! Thanks for sharing!
Oh I agree! I'm glad you liked it and thanks for watching
Fantastic to hear that!
Good review, never heard of these knives. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Im glad you liked it Kevin. They are pretty new to me too but I like them!
TAKE CARE..
Sounds great! Thanks for watching and you have a great weekend too!
Thanks for the comments and I agree 100%! Use the right tool for the right job! Thanks for watching
I have several of the bps knives with the scandi grind. The one I have are all 1066 carbon. I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a better knife at their price point. Great video.
Great to hear that Jerry and I'm glad you liked the video!
Of course my wife claimed the Nighthawk. lol
The scales on the Nighthawk were just a bit to small and the tang stuck out in a few spots.
Fantastic to hear they were good to you Rodney!
Thanks for another exciting video Dave! People can always trust what you say about gear because you don't get paid to pretend something is good if it's not. 👍
Im glad you liked it Ian! Yep, if I like gear, I actually like it! Thanks for watching
Hi dave. Thanks for the review and the knifework demonstration. Stay safe. ATB. Nigel
Hello Nigel! I'm glad you liked it and thanks for watching
Hi bigmonkey the bps adventure is scandi grind stainless steel and full tang and it beats both of them in my opinion same price same company great video as always peace and love from 1 leg UK England
Sounds like my kinda knife! Im glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
My favorite blade shape is a Warrencliff or a sheep foot. For tip carving.
I think I've got one of those
Nice one Dave, a great presentation and test of both knives

Hv 2 of the hk 1s..
Over a year now with no regrets.
Peeled some Brazilian pepper wood & it puts a nice dark patina on em.
Skinned out a few hogs too..

Fun Vid Dave, I have the BS1FTS for Camp Craft, and the HK5 for a field knife. Great price for an easy gift.
Thanks, Im glad you liked it Josh! Thats a really good knife
That bk 06 got the job done to me great video and test thank you
For bushcraft use, I LOVE that BK06! Im glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
The Savage is my current EDC and favorite knife....
Great review, sir

those two knives are very nice looking.
i am going to take a look at their shop.
thanks for sharing.
Sounds great! They have several good models available. Thanks for watching brother
Hello and Im glad you liked it. Id definitely prefer a full tang but a scandi grind is usually my preference no matter what. Thanks for watching

Hi David, I was watching this again because I forgot that I’d already seen it, but it was just as good the second time! Always great to hear from you and they are fantastic!
Sounds like a great idea Roy! Those sheaths are incredibly nice. I'm glad you liked the video and thanks for watching Roy!
Interesting! I can’t help wondering about the final bevel on that full flat knife. I’m itching to look at it with the 10X loupe from the bench next to my 2x72 belt machine - then maybe alter that angle a bit…🙄
I don't know what it is but if it was a bit more narrow it would carve wood better. Thanks for watching
THANK YOU - A wonderful weekend for you dear friend 👣🌲🌲🌲
You are very welcome and you have a great weekend too Ofer!
Thankn you brother. I liike the BK06 Camping Knife best. GOD Bless.
Im glad you liked it. Man that BK06 is perfect for bushcraft chores! Thanks for watching

Fantastic to hear that Shawn and thanks for the comments
Very well said! Knives are for cutting carving and slicing. Axes and machetes do that other stuff.
Great video great tutorial on pot having I wish you would have tagged the Dutch Bushcraft knives on the
Challenge
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Tagging them guys wouldn't do anything I bet. Anytime I ever commented on there videos they never answered me so I stopped watching. Thanks for watching Miguel
That desert camo works pretty well in the autumn/winter forest. 😁👍
Oh definitely! Woodland camo sticks out like a sore thumb in the winter round here
Great demonstrations Dave, both seemed like really great knifes.
@@vanq86 thanks, I’ll have to check them out.
Lol, that does make sense it could stand for that. BPS definitely makes some good affordable knives! Thanks for watching Mark
Very well said! Thanks for watching and you have a great weekend too!
Thanks for the info Peter, very interesting. And thanks for watching
I like the Adventurer, 5" and the BS2FTS, 4". I put the BS2 in an Esee PR4 sheath with a plastic insert, it rides better on my belt. The 1066 steel seems fine to me. No complaints.
Thank you.
Thanks for the comments and Thanks for watching
Thanks for an informative video.
Thanks for watching Jimmy!

Love these knives 😊
Oh, and if you want to take the handle scales off to replace or add some rust resistance to your blade, the scale screws come off like a dream
Thanks for the info Craig!
Thanks for the info Richard. I may get more knives in the future.
Well Dave, I don't have a scandi grind knife. But I'm going to be getting the one you just used it did a very good job 👍. great video. Thanks
Fantastic to hear that Richard! Nothing beats a scandi grind for wood carving. Thanks for watching
I gotta agree with you Tom. That scandi version is definitely more for bushcraft chores. Take care and thanks for watching brother
Seems similar quality to Moras. Flat grinds are not ideal for curls. The flat grind bites, and digs into the wood. Thanks for the comparison of the two! I'll stick with my 73 forge blades. Thanks for sharing with us Dave!
Very similar to Moras, except for wooden handles and leather sheaths. I love my 73forge knife! Thanks for watching my friend
That scandy grind is nice.....looks like the handle would be comfortable
Very comfortable handle, I love using it. Thanks for watching Kent
Sounds good to me! Thanks for watching
Thank you sir!
Thanks for watching Kenneth!
The BPS are good knives. I have the Savage and I modified mine. I sanded the wooden handles with 2,000 grit sand paper to give them a nicer finish and I also used gun blue on the blade so now the knife is all black.
Sounds good to me! Im guessing you wont have to worry about rusting with that bluing?
Great video Dave cheers. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Michelle, Im glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
That scandi grind for the carving you did today looks good. A scandi grind type knife along with a machete I think is a good combo.
Oh I agree 100%! Thanks for watching Doug
