Underwater at NH Collection Havodda Maldives Resort

A montage of underwater video recorded while snorkelling around the wonderful @NHcollection Havodda Maldives Resort in February 2024.
Most of the shark, eagle ray and sea turtle footage was captured at the northern tip of the island, around the post sticking out of the water that can be seen from the Surf restaurant, which can be reached by swimming left from the dive centre jetty.
The sea turtle / black tip interaction in the cover picture comes from 01:38, when a big black tip reef shark took an interest in the turtle with which I was swimming, before it decided to turn its attention to me instead...

Havodda has a wonderful reef, but equally strong currents. Make sure you are up to the swim before attempting it!

7월에 신혼여행으로 아마리하보다 (NH컬렉션 하보다) 갔다 왔는데, 영상을 보니 그때의 기억이 나네요. 풀빌라 비치쪽이여서 북쪽은 한번갔다가 물이깊어서 되돌아왔었는데, 좋은 영상 잘 구경합니다.

Great Video , thanx for snorkeling tips, we are going in 2 weeks, my 6 year old daughter (great swimmer) loves snorkeling, how are currents outside on northern tip.? doable or just too much for 6 year old ?

Sorry to have missed your comments at the time. I think that with strong swimmers accompanying a 6 year old, the northern tip is a decent destination. How did it go for you?

@@lindas2531 as with most Maldivian islands, there are sometimes strong currents, so if you're taking a 6yo out be sure you're prepared for a potentially hard swim. Most of the time I had no problem, but on one particularly choppy day I really struggled to swim back to the dive centre jetty from the northern tip of the island (where the best sights are). Take it slowly and stay within your limits, as always.
