I have worked with this band multiples times as main stage security... The lead singer was always stumbling blind drunk and drugged before the show.... To the point where you wonder if he was just going to pass out in the restroom. And every single time he went out there and absolutely smashed it. They are simply awesome live in ---in-the-right venue. And their drummer is fantastic.
It happens man. I know some bad ass musicians that can pull shit off and people never would have a clue. I am a recovering addict/alcoholic and I would do things all the time and people never even knew I was messed up at all.
They came to Marine Corps base out in 29 Palms as a celebration for a brand new MCX. A lot of ppl didn’t know who they were but I couldn’t believe my luck. Love this band. I remember telling my friends how good they were and rolling up to the stage, set up in a parking lot with a grocery cart full of beer, bought from said MCX.
Yeah. Those were the days. I remember when Much Music was actually such a great channel and used to actually have music on it. All the sick pop punk and punk bands were on shows like this back then. *nostalgia heightens*
He wrote the song from his ex wife's perspective. Scott Russo (the singer) explained in an interview that he realized he was a bad husband.. See his explanation at 9:03 in this youtube video th-cam.com/video/nvB7Tc0_4M4/w-d-xo.html
I was about 16 myself when this song came out and I was already a fan of Unwritten Law a few years prior with the songs "Holiday" and "Teenage Suicide " respectively. I definitely say Unwritten Law are underrated and underappreciated as a group.
I will NEVER forget seeing them live years and years ago without listening to their music before and they played this. It’s one of my all time favorite songs. It’s absolutely incredible

Yea Scott's on a sick one. It's sad man. This band was great. His addiction fucked em all up. I'm from North County San Diego. I remember them playing with Blink 182 and Screeching Weazil. Great band but damn Scott, pull it together. You're gifted
You do realize the band is still going right? They just released a single few hours back. He may not sound like he used to but he is still continuing punk.
Gotta admit, I was pissed when they made regular radio play with this song. Was like “Just great, Blink 182 all over again”. UL stayed the course though. Great music.
I’m with you brotha! Blink is great at being a sellout band! That was there main focus they wanted money when most of them were already brought up by parents that had money entitled fake ass band! UL kept it punk rock and never sold out! Had a couple opportunities but weren’t with it! They played for there fans and love of music not the money!
@@zacharyhyattt9257 Rob was let go due to a physical altercation on stage with Scott Russo, same goes for Pat Kim & Steve Morris, Steve & Rob are the only founding members of the band that are in the band are Wade he rejoined he left three years ago and rejoined last year & Scott is still in the band.

Stupid ass comment man! Most musicians have some addiction issues but that doesn’t change the talent or the person they are! And I’ve never seen you at his house I’m there all the time! What house and where I feel like your just talking but not walking!
Can you play the drums like him? Naw not even close whether he’s drunk, high,or sober he can fucking crush it on the drums! Misery loves company that’s what I’m feeling from you!
Where my skateboards at? Any 30 year olds grow up with grind? This song played when the skate team finally gets to compete, and it’s peak epicness.

Hahaha. What a back handed comment. No need to attack him as a person and then praise him as an artist. Big ol yikes for you.
This song is harder than it seems to cover vocally. The lead singer is so talented!!!
Ya he sounds great here
It's sounds like he really can't sing
@@america9704 try to sing it in that key
Scott's a stud. I do this at karaoke sometimes. It definitely isn't easy as you'd think. Especially not with the energy he sings it with.
@@FaceTheAshes it’s kind of a strange vocal range he hits for sure.
Great performance! This takes me back 2002.
I skip school to see if his performance. It was the best performance of my life
This was when rock music was still the most popular kind of music especially with kids

It was on 3 in the morning.

Wasn’t a big fan of UL until I heard this album. So god damn good. Miguel from Sublime produced it too.
I remember the first time I heard this song. Early May 2002. Elva was my soundtrack that summer
This brings me back to 96’ at SDSU!! You had to be there to know what I’m taking about!! Such good times!!!
I found unwritten law from watching the best movie, Grind
The 4 walking together to the final battle, UL starts with the opening hook...

I’d like to see this lineup perform again for a 20th anniversary concert of elva. With the exception of Rob brewer.
