The snake is probably based on the chinese mythological demon snake, who fell in love with a human doctor. There are many good movies about this. If you google chinese legend of the white snake you should find some results. Anyway hope that helps you fill out your head canon lol

Basically she was the master of Mount Yaojun (probably where Chenyu Vale is located) and her dearest friend was a jade carp fish adeptus who succombed to erosion (this references the tale of Lady White Snake from Chinese culture, as in some versions of the tale the jade-colored snake that accompanies the white snake is a carp fish). However the character story of Baizhu’s where this is mentioned also says that Changsheng has trouble recalling her past, which I would interpret as her being in a similar state to Guoba.

Now that i think about it, the reason why baizhu took in qiqi is because she is the test subject for many baizhu's medicines to see if a body is capable of handling the drug since its too risky doing test to mortals.
He tests them on himself though, they even said in the livestream that Baizhu will often test new drugs on Himself because he doesn’t want to harm others, so he most definitely doesn’t test them on Qiqi
If you ask me, he could have been finding a way to make qiqi normal, through doses unfit for the living, but for the living dead. That explains why hu tao and him has beef with each other, kinda
