Luckily I’ve only ever had one piece that was so bad you could see the nicotine running off as you washed it 😮 For that one, as well as washing thoroughly and stripping/sanding, I left it for a week with lemons cut in half in the drawers and that seemed to help a lot! I also primed a lot of it to keep any residual odours trapped!
First off, I love all your stuff! Second, just a fyi, Shellac is not oil based. It's actually a resign secreted by the female lac bug. I swear it's true! It's worth a google😊
Nothing worked on the actual vanity besides shellac but the drawers weren’t as bad. The vinegar and the rubbing alcohol worked getting them not to smell but the vinegar and alcohol lingered, even after they sat all night and half the day today. I’ve not heard of using cat litter, I’ll definitely have to keep that in mind for the future. I assume it’s similar to baking soda and just letting it sit for a while? Thanks for the tip! 😊😊😊

I have always heard using coffee grounds like you did the baking soda works, too.
