I owned an SNES and was drooling with most of these games from EGM magazines back then. Just bought this one with $10 sales just now. Awesome, I can play with my daughter during this lockdown.
Or a 90s and 00s collection, samba de amigo could be incorporated with the switch touch screen, Billy Hatcher and the giant egg, shemnue and knights could incorporate the joycon sensitivity. Maybe even the sonic adventure titles. I would gladly pay more due to the fact that they are technologically advanced compared to the mega drive.
I agree, There's so much they could do with them games today. Billy Hatcher is one game I haven't played but many have recommended. I must pick it up soon.

Dude that is an excellent idea and I totally agree . A buddy of mine my best friend going up got the Dreamcast when it came out and the only games I got to play. Was Jim Carrey's The Grinch stole Christmas. Jet set radio and crazy taxi.. they couldn't afford a memory card for your controller so you can imagine how that went. Lol. Beating the game just was an optional.. but here's what's weird googling it they say that in the United States jet set radio was called jet grind radio but I remember it being jet set radio
Great collection but it’s a shame there are some real gems missing .... Streetfighter 2, Echo the Dolphin, Earthworm Jim, Castlevania Bloodlines, Desert Strike, Road Rash II, Flashback, Ghouls N Ghosts, TMNT Hyperstone Heist?
We might be lucky and get some of those when the new Mini Mega Drive releases next year. I have all those games you mentioned on cartridge still. True classics. 😁

(Shocking, I know) I got Mania and it’s DLC on sale years ago, but I just didn’t feel right playing it without at least playing the other games in the Origins collection first without the context since Mania is a celebration and true sequel to all of those games, and I didn’t just want to not have no options to play Sonic 3 or not play Sonic CD outside of emulation, which I’m just not gonna do since it would suck on a phone and I don’t have a computer. (A decent one that won’t crap out within a month and even run simple programs like LEGO Digital Designer would cost more than a thousand bucks these days) So I’m glad that they’re finally not only re-releasing the original Genesis versions of Sonic 3 after all this time, but also remaking it as well. Some people would say it’s overpriced, and for $45 it does seem a bit steep for some, but I think it’s worth it if it means I can support the creators and if it can a message across to SEGA. The multiple versions to purchase are weird when it only needs two (The first and last one) since it’s only a $5 difference, so that’s kinda odd, but whatever. Just let me finally play these games in better quality matching Mania and in peace. *Lol*

Does anyone know why, when you play the Alex kidd Enchanted Castle game for the Sega Classics for the XBox, that for the level where you need to use the helicopter to get across the water, that when you press any of the buttons nothing will make the helicopter move up?. You can move left and right and fire, but can't move it up on the game I have, and I am very familiar with this game on the Mega Drive. For some reason the controls on the game I have won't let you move it up, could be something wrong with the game or the control pad. Anyone else had this problem?.
Form those 50 games 22 are a must play and 10 ill give a shot..the rest ill skip bit for $30 this is the best virtual console ish thing we have on the switch to date

I've heard of a few different versions of this. I think the switch version has less games than other systems. I'll find the name of that track for you, was ages ago when I made this. I've started playing a few of the rpgs as I wasn't that interested in them back in the 90s.

Nostalgia was a big reason for me buying this but I do believe there's something for everyone in this collection. Theres save states and rewind features to make the games easier to pick up and play too.

It's too bad Sonic 3 & Knuckles aren't part of this collection due to licensing issues, but this is still a pretty solid collection nonetheless so I can live with that tradeoff since I haven't played most of the games here.
It's such a shame that there are only games on here made/published by Sega. Sooooo many great titles not on here. Games like Aladdin, Robocop vs Terminator, Jurassic Park, TMNT the Hyperstone Heist, Splatterhouse 3, NBA Jam, Mortal Kombat 2, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Street Fighter 2: Special Championship Edition, Quack Shot, Castle of Illusion, Rocket Knight Adventures, Moonwalker, Castlevania Bloodlines, Earthworm Jim 1/2, Ranger X and Contra Hard Corps to name a few.
That is an amazing list of games. You've basically listed my childhood. 😁 There's mods on the Steam workshop that let's you download different games for free which isn't bad.
@@MrCageCat there might be another game or two, I'd need to cross check the lists. The steam version has all the different games classed as dlc. It's let's you buy what games you want. I picked up the full bundle on sale though. Best way.
As a Nintendo guy I bought this on sale for the Switch, the sole reason being the 3 Phantasy Star titles. Paying 5$ for each one feels fair as the games stood the test of time and are epic classics. Other than that Virtua Fighter 2 stands out to me as another great title with a big history that is fun to play from time to time. Street of Rage 1&2, Sonic 1&2, Space Harrier II and Super Thunder blade are also nice additions if one wants to dive into a early 90's atmosphere just for fun, that said, 90's is also the theme of the cozy room and the TV on which one can play the games. The collection also gives you some nice options - on sale it is a must buy if you don't own the Phantasy Star titles.
I wasn't really into role playing games in the 80s and early 90s so I missed a lot of classics. I was getting my adventure fix from the Legend of Zelda games. I've been catching up with some of the great oldies like Phantasy Star, Final Fantasy 1-6 and Shining Force. I missed some greats.

Worth it for the brilliant Streets if Rage alone. Great side scrolling beat em up with a magnificent soundtrack.

There is a newer at games version with an Hdmi output I use for recording. Being able to use my old cartridges is a big plus. 😁

Yes, there are save states anywhere you want and you can also rewind if you make a mistake. Loads of great features.

I've heard of a few different versions of this. I think the switch version has less games than other systems. I'll find the name of that track for you, was ages ago when I made this. I've started playing a few of the rpgs as I wasn't that interested in them back in the 90s.

Nostalgia was a big reason for me buying this but I do believe there's something for everyone in this collection. Theres save states and rewind features to make the games easier to pick up and play too.

I don't think so. I think they would have by now. SEGA has been adding regular games to the Nintendo Switch E Shop which is good though.

I'm not sure. The games still have their slow down moments like they did in their originals though.
It's too bad Sonic 3 & Knuckles aren't part of this collection due to licensing issues, but this is still a pretty solid collection nonetheless so I can live with that tradeoff since I haven't played most of the games here.
It's such a shame that there are only games on here made/published by Sega. Sooooo many great titles not on here. Games like Aladdin, Robocop vs Terminator, Jurassic Park, TMNT the Hyperstone Heist, Splatterhouse 3, NBA Jam, Mortal Kombat 2, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Street Fighter 2: Special Championship Edition, Quack Shot, Castle of Illusion, Rocket Knight Adventures, Moonwalker, Castlevania Bloodlines, Earthworm Jim 1/2, Ranger X and Contra Hard Corps to name a few.
That is an amazing list of games. You've basically listed my childhood. 😁
There's mods on the Steam workshop that let's you download different games for free which isn't bad.

@@MrCageCat yeah, I bought the PS4 version first and bought the PC version a few months ago. Was glad it had Sonic 3 and Knuckles on it.

@@MrCageCat there might be another game or two, I'd need to cross check the lists. The steam version has all the different games classed as dlc. It's let's you buy what games you want. I picked up the full bundle on sale though. Best way.

Same, I'd be happy with a Master System or Saturn Collection but a Dreamcast one would be pure gold.
As a Nintendo guy I bought this on sale for the Switch, the sole reason being the 3 Phantasy Star titles. Paying 5$ for each one feels fair as the games stood the test of time and are epic classics. Other than that Virtua Fighter 2 stands out to me as another great title with a big history that is fun to play from time to time. Street of Rage 1&2, Sonic 1&2, Space Harrier II and Super Thunder blade are also nice additions if one wants to dive into a early 90's atmosphere just for fun, that said, 90's is also the theme of the cozy room and the TV on which one can play the games. The collection also gives you some nice options - on sale it is a must buy if you don't own the Phantasy Star titles.
I wasn't really into role playing games in the 80s and early 90s so I missed a lot of classics. I was getting my adventure fix from the Legend of Zelda games.
I've been catching up with some of the great oldies like Phantasy Star, Final Fantasy 1-6 and Shining Force. I missed some greats.

Last Battle was originally a Japanese Fist Of The North star game, reprogrammed for the American Sega Genesis. It's a copyright issue.
