When I lived in Nara, Japan, I had a friend that worked for the Nara National Museum in the restorations dept. We talked a few times about this tomb, as she had colleagues that had worked on projects in China and a lot of the artifacts in the Shoso-in collection at the museum came from China. She said pretty much the same things mentioned in the video. Before the arrival of Buddhism, ancient Japanese buried their nobility in tombs called kofun that are scattered across the country. The largest ones look like keyhole shaped islands surrounded by a moat on maps and in aerial photos. The Daisen kofun in Sakai, Osaka, while not as elaborate, rivals this one in sheer size. As luck would have it, for better or worse, the museum was doing emergency restoration work on a local tomb that made for a good example. Archaeologists from the Nara National Museum had drilled a small hole in the burial chamber of the Takamatsuzuka kofun in Asuka, Nara and used a small fiber-optic camera to explore it. Mold spores hitched a ride on the camera and damaged the ancient frescoes of the Chinese zodiac that lined the chamber. They ended up unearthing and dismantling the entire burial chamber and moved it piece by piece to one of the museum's facilities to preserve it. Needless to say, it took a lot of time, labor, and money just to stablize it. That's without having to deal with poisons, ancient traps, and structural instability in a much more elaborate structure. She also mentioned how shockingly fast ancient things can oxidize when exposed to the air. She said in some cases you can actually watch things like paint and textiles wither before your eyes.

@@michellerenee92580 Ridiculous. Hazmat suits can withstand every known contagion, and that includes mercury. They're just being superstitious.
@@michellerenee92580 so what? heard of hazmat suits and gas masks?
@@Sarlyx its not just the mercury in reality its the reverence for Qin Shi Huang The first emperor of a unified China he was Huang di they practice ancestor worship so because of the disrespect it would be his tomb will probably never be open but I don't even think hazmat's would help the lake of mercury guarding it
@@michellerenee92580 wtf are you talking about
Wish they would allow a drone in there to get a look
i love how he clearly says that opening the tomb will expose it to air, leading to oxidation. Then the litany of genius fucks in this thread constantly type "send a camera or a robot" like those aren't mechanical, and as if those wouldn't require opening the door.
I was waiting for this comment
I wonder if he was inspired by travelers tales of the western country of Egypt?
Waiting for price rise in mercury no doubt
Bro couldn't have been that important if no one even knew where he was buried, ha
We humans need to keep our noses on our faces and leave some things alone. If it is meant to be revealed then Divine timing will take care of that.
Such a mystery that they couldn’t even film the outside of the huge earth mound?! 😂😂
What religious beliefs did they have? An army to protect himself in death and from what has me curious
They could enter the tomb with protective clothing and like space suits.
I think there being smart in waiting for tech to catch up
They really don’t know why the Great Wall of China was really built because the port holes for the archers are facing China not Mongolia
Unopened…? Allegedly….
How can scientists safely enter this tomb, if only we had invented remote operated vehicles or even has-mat suits
What if there was actually nothing inside that Tomb? hehehe we would all have waited for nothing..
Powerful Empererors..lost things too,
out in the field, riding . And aren't we lucky ..to find them..sometimes !!
("...Oops, I just lost my gold comb..." 🤔)
Well said!
They do not want to make the same mistake in the mummy movies.
They ain't scared... They probably prohibited to. They took no time opening any Egyptian sarcophagus
It isn't going anywhere.
Is it taken that these soldiers and the tomb were buried by a great flood or the sand deposits from something similar. Or was the tomb intentionally buried after the emperor’s death. Or is that unknown. No doubt said farmers lost there land during this honest act of calling officials.
If there was rivers of mercury then deadly to open. Xx
That makes it more interesting.
True, yet we've harvested mercury previously in history.
I've seen this place on a tour of China. They believe that if you open the tomb the mercury will kill the people that live in the area and poison the land.
سکائ.. آسمانی سیڑھی چین.... انجنرز 2012 بسم اللہ خان سائنسدان خلاء سکھر..... پاکستان زندہ باد چین زندہ باد....
They are scared because all the terracotta warriors are different legend has it because a great sorcerer turned his army into statues to guard his tomb and if disturbed they come to life again and are unbeatable immortal warriors. Maybe they are the great army of the east mentioned in the bible
100% they opened that tomb in the 70s when they discovered it
Well, I agree that something doesn’t compute here. If you know what you’re up against then you take the necessary precautions to get it to the two if somebody hasn’t already done, so, which it would be hard to believe if they have any after all these years and go for it otherwise you’re just gonna talk about this for ever in a day and no one will ever know just because you know, a fear
I don’t believe for 1 second they haven’t opened and looted that tomb🤷🏼♀️
Me neither
That's so obvious
Theres no way those corrupt buttholes ain't scraped it for more than it's worth .
Surely someone has tried. I call bullshit too✌
🐂💩3️⃣
Who would pay me to do this?
My days are over give me what I want.
Do archeologists really feel like they played tic tac toe in the temple because they showed that scribbled on the wall. I mean I guess everyone needs something to pass the time.
Is China named after him😊?
YES. QIN=CHIN 秦 (大秦帝国=The Great Qin Empire)
You can find Chinese car BYD Dynasty series Qin is the No1. second Han Dynasty thats why Chinese mostly are call themself Han ...
so everyone is mispronouncing the country named China. It is Chi-na, not Chy-na.
You forgot to mention that those same farmers were forced off their land because of this discovery
Seeing all the warriors, each one different made me imagine that they had all been entombed in clay as living/dead bodies.
Just a thought..🤔🤔🦘🦘
Crack it open!
