    If I heard you right, there is only a California law in the US. Does this mean it only works for Residents of California or against brokers based in California?

    Once you prove no company can just refuse to delete data and they respect the laws that oblige them to do so, well I'm in.

      In the EU/EEA, that's required by law. If the company has no legal reason to process your personal data, and you exercise your right according to art. 17 GDPR, they will have to erase that data and give you a feedback within a month.
      Otherwise, you can either submit a complaint to the relevant Data Protection Authority (there's at least one for each EU member State), OR start a civil proceeding in a Court.

      ok, let me rephrase that... Once it's working is such countries as China, Russia and India, well I'm in.

      lol ive been harrassed by trading companies for 10 years now, and they wont remove my info no matter how many times I tell them to. They keep selling my info to their affiliates, and this keeps going on for ever. Yeah they refuse to remove anything, cause they are not a branded company that you can sue. They change names every month. Good luck with that.
      Besides I bet incogni is a subdivision of data brokers themselves and play both sides of the game. How else would they have access to all that info, and have resources to do what they claim to do for you for only 6$? No way. They take your money to harass you less. Its like paying a sub to avoid ads. Smart.

    INCOGNI- does not work, at least for me ... I checked, I paid twice, because it's already using service for 2 months and what ... almost nothing.
    After 45 days from 93, progress 23, 70 is waiting, so I send a refund e-mail , and I got it, but only for 1 month, because it's over 30 days, well, yes, but Incogni makes you wait 45 days, that's how long it takes-give to others companies time to delete your data. Great work/never again!

  • @WraithTDK

    Generally I'm not a big fan of these services. The concept sounds nice, but the problem is you end up with these reports that says "this company whose name you've never heard of has your data! Shall we tell them to delete it?" Except when you say yes, you find out that while you nevere heard of that company, you've definitely heard of the site or service that they own/run, and by deleting your data, you also deleted your account with said site/service.

    • @John-Smith02
      @John-Smith02 ปีที่แล้ว

      Huh? Is that not obvious? The point of services like Incogni, DeleteMe, Mine, etc. is to delete all your data that they have on you. That should imply it means any accounts you have with that company. For example, if you have an Etsy account, but you haven't used it in years, and you don't plan on it, then you would request the service (at least for Mine since I've personally used Mine), to send an automated email requesting the deletion of your data.

    • @WraithTDK
      @WraithTDK ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@John-Smith02 Right. The problem is you don't know what companies are what. So you get your report and it doesn't say "Etsy." It lists the name of Etsy's parent company. But you don't recognize said parent company. You say "who tf is this?" and you delete your data. Guess what? You no longer have an Etsy account.

      @@John-Smith02 cool story. But I've done this before. I got reports for a few hundred companies and 2/3 of them I'd never heard of. I ended up fighting for a month to get accounts recovered because I told "RandoCorp LMTD" to delete my info only to find that RandoCorp was the parent company of three communities and a store I had accounts in.

    I have incogni for the year and it seems like a great idea. But only having 76 data brokers you contact on the first day of service. I don’t see why I didn’t subscribe for just a month. And I’ve also gotten back a ton of rejected responses. What’s the point if data brokers just reject the request?

Some one that enters like 3 years from now and pay 4 dollars will be deleted the same amount of data as someone entering now and paying 4 dollars for each increase and attempt, right? Thanks

    Hi, does Incogni delete accounts from social media or shopping accounts such as LinkedIn or Amazon?
    OR
    Does it only delete data that is publicly available ?
    So, for example there is a danger that Incogni incorrectly deletes accounts.
    For example, I do NOT want my data stored with the latest Crypto scam, however I DO need to keep data with my mortgage provider
    It is not clear what is being deleted and how Incogni distinguishes them
    I await your response
