By far one of the worst COD endings ever, when I beat it with my brother we just lost our shit at that, I’m sorry but he isn’t surviving a shot through the chest, and he sure as hell isn’t going to be better off than two solders who aren’t nearly as hurt, it’s been years and that ending still makes me annoyed, and to top it off that discount biker gang member should have drowned, and he sure as hell didn’t swim around just to get the jump on the guys who killed him.... ugh so glad that game never got its sequel

But him surviving and brainwashing Logan which is the nore popular theory would be really interesting to play. Playing as Logan's brother and having to kill your own brother or maybe save him. Honestly the ending is just the only thing that stuck with me from that COD which is why I don’t really enjoy it at all, because it wasn’t really impactful, I did like some things but overall the reason I hate the ending is that it took me out of the game so much that it just overpowered any other story beat in that game, and it threw away such a good twist, imagine this, Rorke dies (supposedly) and his troops show up, beat you and your brother half way to death and drag you away leaving your brother bloody but alive, in the sequel you learn that Rorke lived due to a aquatic unit of his army saving him and he pulls the strings leading to your brainwashing, that is why I’m mad, a simple tweak leads to an entire sequel whilst holding onto some logic
imagine getting hit, exploded, falling a good mile on water, taking a shot to the spine, getting washed by sea water and then being able to swim and carry a person
