I wish I could go back to Florida again this summer. I had a dream this morning that my family and I were taking a boat ride somewhere and saw two alligators sticking their heads up. I really LOVE alligators and crocodiles.
are you okay? I've lived here all my life and used to gig gators they are so incredibly stupid. I could still do it except I've aged out. just about impossible to catch if you know WTF you're doing (which I did). yeah they're delicious eating and I used to sell the hide. admittedly this was about 50 years ago though. yeah watch "Swamp People" those people are really nasty. But I didn't shoot them like they do.
Incredible footage. Highlights an important global issue too: that of the impact of non-native species on native fauna, in this case the Alligator. If it is now an established breeding population then it may well be very difficult for the authorities to do something about it. Nevertheless efforts must be made to a) raise awareness about the potential threat to native wildlife of releasing non-native snakes into the American wild and b) take every effort to try to remove them from the Everglades.
Maybe someday they'll also consider the millions of feral cats and our other four legged furry friends that have probably displaced more native species than any other introduced animals in the last 100 years.
@@ivanlazarevic78 Well you may have a point with humans but that's another conversation. Non native species are introduced species into an environment by MAN'S INTERFERENCE. In any ecosytem animals evolve over generations to have natural adapatations to help them exist, breed, avoid predation and strike a balance with other animals. When a non native species is rapidly introduced, especially an alpha predator it can wreak havoc upon the native wildlife and create an extreme disbalance as much as throwing a fox into a room with kittens. Pythons didn't swim from Asia and arrive in Florida. If that was the case that would simply be natural selection.
Cellworld Dream At this point, everyone wants the Alligators to win. They seem to be doing a better job at hunting the Burmese Python too. Unfortunately the Python keeps expanding it's territory though.
The alligator was not hungry and found the python an annoyance. Consequently, after rebuffing the python's attacks, it went to find a hopefully less irritating area to chill. When it's hungry, it'll come back to the aggressive meal.
Lol, he got his eye popped. Hungry doesn't mean that it won't go all out, in the beginning I thought the snake died because he got bit in the head by a fcking gator but still survived that alone tells me why pythons are one of the strongest and top predators. (I am a lion fan though)
"On rare occasions the Burmese Python can intimidate an alligator into retreat..." *BY PUTTING ITS HEAD DIRECTLY NEXT TO THE GATOR'S MOUTH* P.S: @1:05 How the hell did the Python survive that?
Alligators do have explosive power, but I recently learned that they are sprinters, and will ALWAYS lose a marathon. They can only thrash for a few minutes, before lactic acid builds up in their muscles, which paralyzes them. Think about times when you might have pushed yourself too hard physically, and your muscles tighten painfully, to the point that you can't really move them- this happens to the alligator's entire body. Surprisingly, in Florida, otters are known to exploit this weakness, actually killing alligators once their bodies freeze up; the otters are quick/nimble and can outlast the alligator. They basically use Muhammad Ali's "rope-a-dope" technique. My guess is that the snakes employ similar tactics, and just outlast the alligators.
@@quantumperception I think you're right, though snakes share similar limitations. Better endurance is probably the best purely physical advantage of warm-blooded animals.

@@TheNYgolfer that gator was tiny, probably 2 meters. a gator of that size would have around 1000 psi, not as strong. plus, the biteforce is only powerful for around 20 minutes, beyond that is too exhausting for the alligator.
Asim . I don’t think that alligator was hungry. Must have just devoured a wildebeest. Laying there and digesting his lunch.
JJ P. Must have been. He should have snapped the snake in half

When you accidentally move too fast in any stealth game.
I'm just surprised that the snake's still alive after those bites. If it was a human, limbs would have gone.
The dislikes are all the alligators that got intimidated by the pythons
intimidated

Python: "You wanna hang in the ring with me buddy, you better be ready to go the whole 10 rounds next time!" Alligator: "I'm outta here this guy is outclassing me!"
looks to me like the Python high tailed out the water first XD
Guy with camera: "Oh cool python and alligator fight, I'm gonna film it"
Me with gun: *Enter gunshot noise here* "Whelp, one python down, million more to go. Enjoy your lunch Mr. Gator."
let me get my ruger .45 i will help
That was fascinating to watch. Thank you!

Yes! 🔥 😂
It is human way of looking upon animals. So whtif it is native species or not,it does not have passport.Majority of people in America are not native
@@ivanlazarevic78
Well you may have a point with humans but that's another conversation.
Too late. 😷
They could put a bounty on them and distribute drones with infrared cameras. Fly them just after dusk they're bodies will show up hot.
The Cameraman needs an Oscar for his tremendous job💔💯🔥
Did anyone else really want the alligator to win I mean these pythons are on my turf back off
Cellworld Dream At this point, everyone wants the Alligators to win. They seem to be doing a better job at hunting the Burmese Python too. Unfortunately the Python keeps expanding it's territory though.

this was the first time I was on the Alligators side! Python has to fight a cockroach if he wants my support!
My favorite part is 1:20. The snake is like “AAAAAHHHHHHHH! Get me out of here!!!”
Snake was like "I'll bite your eyes out" Alligator was like "Oh shit. Then I'll really starve"
Python(whispers)- "i know John Wick"
Alligator..*****>****
Am i the only one who heard that cracking sound when the snake bit the croc's eye??
1:33 you mean you dont hear that?
I heard it too.
Croc: "OK, now I need to see a vet"

No you are not, 1:32
Alligator wasn't intimidated, it was just tired of the python's shit and wanted to be left alone lmao
He was already blind
@Lakshyakh it didnt survive. Vid creator confirms that it died from these injuries
@@KathleenBlackford-bd3lz where does he confirm?

"On rare occasions the Burmese Python can intimidate an alligator into retreat..."
*BY PUTTING ITS HEAD DIRECTLY NEXT TO THE GATOR'S MOUTH*
P.S: @1:05 How the hell did the Python survive that?
It seemed like the snake knew where to bite to do the most damage.. it went for the nose and the eyes.
Every alligator gangsta until a Python shows up
