I think the zipper design is very practical. So whichever shoulder you’re wearing the sling on, you can open the sling on either end depending on which hands you have free.
Been hoping for these design changes to be put in the 7l version. *Edit. I retract that, the venture sling is the perfect size for me and I'm glad I bought this instead of the smaller sizes

Carry Requirements: iPad, kindle, pen, notebook, jacket, beanie, water, nail clippers, light, bandages, self amalgamating tape, sunglasses, cloth, knife, sunscreen, and occasionally a laptop. That wide opening reminds me of ratchet satchel! All bag maker should notice and make this feature a standard. The way that the opening is not only stop at the top but also spilling to the side is a must!

What is the point of water-resistant zippers if there is a big hole at either and of the bag? There seems to be a lot of brands these days that waste advanced materials for the spec sheet only. I've lost count of the number of carry brands that boast of exotic waterproof fabrics but don't bother to seam-seal the bag anywhere. Or use Aquaguard zippers with gaps at either end and no zipper garages.

So here's the thing - I'm off on a holiday and looking to purchase an EDC to hold various small items including a Fujifilm X100V, small water bottle, and glasses. I purchased the Bellroy Venture Sling 6L and think it looks great but is a bit smaller than I imagined tbh considering the 6L size mark. For example, the Peak Design Everyday Sling 3L camera bag - yes 3L - (superbly made also) has almost the EXACT same dimensions, looks able to store pretty much exactly the same amount of items and is extremely well crafted with comparable weather resistance etc - BUT quite a bit cheaper. Why is the Bellroy so much more expensive and named 6L, when the Peak Design of the same size is 3L ??????? Is there something odd going on???
Hi! Thanks for your feedback. As for dimensions, the Bellroy Venture Sling 6L is bigger compared to the Peak Design Everyday Sling 3L. Both are made of premium materials and are great outdoor bags.🤘 -Joe
HI Joe, Thanks for the response. the Bellroy 6L may be very fractionally bigger but I just can't fathom the difference between 3L and 6L (PD v BVS) when they are very very nearly the exact same size / dimensions. If the Peak Design is a little smaller fine, but by a factor of two? @@RushfasterTV
