Elements of this lore were somewhat introduced in MK1.
Tanya often mentions Argus and Delia so they're definitely still worshipped.
Daegon appears in Takeda's ending, indicating the Red Dragons are present in the New Era as the ones controlling the criminal underworld, especially with Caro the Dragon being there too.
So maybe it's safe to say Armageddon might not be too inevitable.
About the elementals, the ones from Mythologies reappear in Sektor and Noob Saibot's endings.
Blaze would have been a cool Kameo for MK1.

He was... devoted to his part back in the og days, but tragically, it all went to hell for him once the wrong victor made claim.
Had I a chance to give blaze new life in a mortal kombat story. Blaze is indeed one of the most powerful. Therefore, he needs a new purpose fitting for his immense power but at the same time, make his circumstances much more aligned to his old ways in deadly alliance, deception on gamecube and his finale in Armageddon. His character is one I won't touch too much on, but heres my attempt at it.
" There have been many retellings of how the realms came to be... where those filled with prosperity and virtue flourished while other realms know only conflict and struggle. Only the neither realm... remains empty, without purpose and yet so vast that finding its borders yet remain to be found.. Shinnok in all his wisdom Tasks Delia, A sorceress akin to fire a means to light the darkness. Together with her husband argus, the two constructed a being named blaze to venture the depths of this unlit world. Devoted to his task, blaze illuminates the first layer of the neither realm by scorching the rock beds in seering flames and flowing lava, enough to unveil the nocturnal species of oni.. Carnivorous as their only nourishment was to hunt the other oni's. Blaze, though disturbed, was not threatened by these deprived creatures. Rather, he pursued onwards into the depths further down. It wasn't until he reached past the fifth sphere of the neither realm that he realized his link to both delia and argus has been severed... an impossibility.. his own instincts, however, too flared as he sees in the rock bed itself ores of an unknown metal of sorts capable of consuming blazes very magical properties, reducing his already immense power to now half. For the first time in his very short existence since his very making, he felt a very mortal chill run across his spine.. his fear a visable scent to the oni much larger here as blaze enters the boneyard... a throne was built atop the pile... a towering figure looks down to Blazes very glow as this creature took great interest. As the figure stood on his own two hinelegs to tower over blaze, the glow of the fire element began to flicker, showing him that blaze was running from him... a new hunt has begun, one that will change this realm forever... the desperation to escape his presence was palpable, his embers splashing on rigid rock bed gives blaze away as it glowed, the loud stomps behind him growing in impacts as he took his time with his new prey... blaze finds himself trapped in the maze of dust, unable to see the paths earlier made.. it was now dire as he had no other choice but to confront his persuer in kombat... Belokk... Elder demon of the neither realm, both the Alpha and the omega in his domain gives a realm wide roar to shake the foundations. Only in the dark, does one only here the shrieks of pain echo across this wicked valley, or feel the very grounds crack beneath. Blazes very fire had no effect on Belokk, for his form didn't once faulter. Belokk on the other, took sweetest delight on a idea that will haunt both argus and delia til their dying day... for tossing blaze around in his already weakened state.. Blaze fought well against this unforseen ruler, but even he was bout to be felled.. with one last blow from belokk to his very head, he alone has won a brief victory. Rather than kill blaze and take his wondrous power... he takes him away to further depths of the neither realm, turing his makeshift cauldron into his earliest furnace to contain blaze in a heat treated prison for the first set of forges... Slowly but inevitably, Belokk came to conquer the rest of the neither realm without opposition, enslaving the oni to build the castle like forges to make his weapons and armors that were infused with blazes properties... yet Belokk was far from satisfied... for like a good blacksmith.. he needed a quench of equal value to blaze... he needed what is the raw life blood of the realms itself to pursue perfection. He readies his armies to invade the realms, dawn in the hellish armory to have ever been designed... all the while blaze still within the very heart of the furnace remains trapped... for the last injury had cracked his skull severely... losing his memories, his purpose... only knowing the draining sensation of his being leaving him.. it is said that to this very day, he remains... dreaming of a day he would be saved... to live.. "
