I used a regular nail file with different grit sizes. Takes much more time but it works!! With everything going on in the world right now, this was the best solution.
Who else is here to get an idea of how to take the acrylic nails off during the stay at home order? Here is my quarantine modification since I do not have the products in the video and the stores are empty (apparently I'm not the only one in my area having to do this DIY at home): No pretty salon grade acetone - found the last metal quart of acetone in the paint dept. at Wal-Mart. No drill - Using light grit sandpaper. No fancy tool to scrape off the gel - Using a slot head screwdriver. I do have cotton balls and aluminum foil and like this idea!
if the acrylic is sticky then the shop you went to used something an illegal acrylic called mma. ema is healthier for your nails and legal to use. mma is illegal because it’s poisonous and not fda approved.
Courtney wilder i was just about to say this about MMA. You can tell because the acrylic was gooey and it’s not supposed to be that way. Check to see the color cause i believe mma is purple
I have learnt a secret to acylic nails that doesnt damage my nails or make them thin... Do not file them before sculpting. Just wash your hands, dry and apply the primer and the hydrator. Apply the acylic. They will fall off on their own no need for acetone or any other because they dont glue tighter to the natural nail. Stays dor 10 to 14 days then 1 by 1 they fall.
You "file" to make sure they stay on LOL. Otherwise you might as well not have acrylics, just go with your own nails. It's really ugly to have like 3 nails left.
The process of removing these seemed pretty smooth.....but the natural nails seem to be awfully thin and clear looking! Was this because of having the acrylics on so long? Artificial nails are so beautiful, I adore them, but they have caused my own nails devastating damage! I hope your method gives better results! Thanks for sharing!!! ❤️🇨🇦
Jazzy leBas ......ohh ok. Gotchya!! I think it’s time I invest in one of those nail files....lol I’m tired of destroying and shredding my natural nails while removing acrylics......thanks you!
Omg I ripped half my nail off of the nail bed today and I’m wearing acrylics so it hurts way to much to do all of this to it and idk what to do😩help please
My nails are the same but since i work on a keyboard all day and have a toddler the acrylic and gel help to keep them from breaking off or getting snagged on something.
When I did my own acrylics for the first time at home when I removed them yes my nails were very weak after but that’s just because I was impatient when removing and didn’t wait long enough to remove the acetone so I just ended up filing of the acrylic
Thank you!! I hit my nail off a desk and got an avulsion under the tip of my nail. I couldn’t take a look at the damage because the gel on top. It’s soaking now so hopefully it will come off easy enough and I won’t need to hAve my entire nail amputated 🤢
God I tried removing my acrylics at home and my nails were fucked for a few months until they grew out. I guess I didn’t soak them long enough. I did then for like 20 minutes and then another 15. But she soaked hers for over an hour total
Those nails still did damage to your natural nails i can cleary see that now you have peeling and splitting nails with layers taken off the nautral nail plate
Natalie Naturopath no just give yourself an infill if you want to redo it. i do infills myself instead of going to the shop. just file down the top layer and you can add on a layer of acrylic powder to hide the growth, or i just use a few layers of a really thick gel or creme polish that can cover the growth and just paint over the nail like normal.
Just to let you know, If the acrylic is tacky, it's probably MMA, a subtanse that is banned in the US. Heres a video if you aren't sure - th-cam.com/video/g9rZvfJXZjE/w-d-xo.html
Tell em at the nail salon, shoving a plastic nail under it and ripping it off so my nail bleeds ain’t it. I could have done that myself, the point of paying extra for you to do it is to make sure it’s done safely.
Who has a drill at home laying around? .. not many of us 😥
Right!
OMG, that's the first thought that came to me...I mean REALLY?😏
I’ll just use a buff and I gotta go buy some aceitone
They sell it at family dollar for 7.99
You can get them for cheap almost anywhere. Lol
I used a regular nail file with different grit sizes. Takes much more time but it works!! With everything going on in the world right now, this was the best solution.
jackiechan Lee i used a regular one too but it was so difficult to get the gel off that I ended bruising my nail from it
Can I use nail polish remover instead of acetone
I tried this and my nails came out perfect, love this ❤️
nail polish romover it wrks for you, like i can use the regullar one?

How would u remove mma nails
Basically the same way
you can remove mma by TKO or Submission
Courtney wilder i was just about to say this about MMA. You can tell because the acrylic was gooey and it’s not supposed to be that way. Check to see the color cause i believe mma is purple

The burning. It’s real.

Damn, while under this federal mandatory lockdown i'm trying to remove my gel overlay. Where can I purchase this drill to remove the gel safely??
NaturalMystic71 try target, Walmart or even a local beauty supply if they didn’t close. Some of them have still been open.
@@ShaquilaN I'll try Walmart - all non essential businesses are closed. Thanks!
I just bought one at Walgreens.
Walmart I just ordered mine took 4days

your nail beds are GOALS !
The acrylic gel completely fucked up my nails. I'm never getting my nails done ever again

Yeah they file your natural nails till they become thin and tender

Hi, what's the name of the electric razor you are using in your head-shaving videos?
Your hands are BEAUTIFUL!
Thanks for the vid

Thank you. In Insolation and need to sort my nails out. Thank you. I do use electric etc but a nail file is great.

How is soaking your nails and fingers in acetone for 1 hour healthy? Is there any safe way to remove them?

go to a nail salon before it gets worse!
Quick update I was able to peel off the acrylic and clean the nail so it’s just heeling now😅
Guys let the break grow out past the fingertip and then cut your nails and acrylic and do all the process
Love this nia hope.absolutely gorgeous.Marry Christmas 😘
I have to try this. Will the glass nail file work as well....
Y even do fake nails wen ur nails are so beautiful n long
Avi I thought the same thing. My nails don’t grow long so I need these extensions but she doesn’t need

@@roxy_de_mulambo Your natural nails grow out underneath the acrylic nails.
They just grew out underneath, when i got mine done my natural nails were short and damaged and now they are super long
People dont push it just add acetone untill it comes ot itself so u dont damage ur nails
SO HELPFUL!! Tysm!!
The nails were like: How could this happen to me I've made my mistakes.
the nail looks thin. Is there a difference in the thickness of your nail after acrylic as oppose to before?
Nubian Neka I found after I removed my acrylics they were thin and weak. Never again! Took 5/6 months to recover
the file your nails about 5 times with the machine making them thin
The acrylic doesn’t makes them thin. The filing does
When I did my own acrylics for the first time at home when I removed them yes my nails were very weak after but that’s just because I was impatient when removing and didn’t wait long enough to remove the acetone so I just ended up filing of the acrylic

That's a lot of aluminum 😐
BlackRadiance you got some good eyes
Thank you for sharing!✨
Were forms used for these nails or tips? Trying to see the difference between how original nails look after acrylic forms vs using tips.
Those nails still did damage to your natural nails i can cleary see that now you have peeling and splitting nails with layers taken off the nautral nail plate
I literally pulled the gel nail paint out and my nails literally look the same
I miss my natural thick nails I want them back
Your natural nails are beautiful. Why do you put acrylics on? Genuinely curious.
Love it !
You can actually get clips to hold the cotton on instead of creating more waste with the foil...
Brea that would hurt to leave on for 30 minutes
@@Niah.in2it I got some off wish... They are not tight or uncomfortable... And reusable.
Thank you - Madisson Flores
For those who don't have drill they can use 150 grit nail filer
It's really cheap
Thanks.. this is very helpful.
Beautiful! 😍
I've been looking at buying a gel nail kit online so I can do it myself. Do I have to do this every two weeks when I need to re do them??
Natalie Naturopath no just give yourself an infill if you want to redo it. i do infills myself instead of going to the shop. just file down the top layer and you can add on a layer of acrylic powder to hide the growth, or i just use a few layers of a really thick gel or creme polish that can cover the growth and just paint over the nail like normal.
@@angelat5554 Oh ok thank you lovely ☺💗
Can you use nail polish to remove the fake nails?
Excellent
Warm your acetone NOT IN THE MICROWAVE lol it speeds up the soaking time
kinda sassy can you do it on the stove?
i wouldn't. just fill up a bowl with very warm water from the sink and let it sit for like 10 minutes or until the water starts cooling off
tyler burkes nooooo - do double
Boiler method. Warm water in micro wave to very hot then place bowl of acetone in water to heat it up
What did you use to do your nails?
I cant be the only one who tried this and ended up nowhere. I did everything in the video and I have all the materials and still it didnt work :/
your nails are beautiful
Thank you!
What was the Green stuff you put on
Basically set aside two hrs to remove your nails. Smh gotta do what you gotta do though.
Any nail polish will do?
Where’d you get your drill? I’ve been looking for a good one
Acetone people!
My only question is that if you do this are your natural nails gonna be weak or just the same as before?
what if the nails are already starting to lift from the nail bed up?
Girl I got the same problem
Does this also work to remove nail tips?
If u want your nails to be steog have vitamin d so if u take the acrylics of they will be not that weak
Cabinet use a napkin instead of cotton ball??
With or without acatone?
My nails have grown out even longer than yours in the video, they look crazy af 🤣
I’m about to do this now with a file because no drill🎉
thanks for this!!
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome!
I thought they were going to show me something I knew that!
This was helpful
Where did you get the drill from?
Faith Byrd amazon or eBay
I do be trying to remove my quarantine nails
So I can use any nail polish remover ?
Elenor it hat to have acetone in it thats the main ingredient that removes the acrylic
You can also use pure acetone
No it has to say 100% acetone and removes gel/artificial nails.
Will this help remove gel caps as well?
Do you leave the foil on for a total of 45 min 30 min the first time and 15 the second time or 30 min and the 45?
30 then 45

same 🤨
Acetone
Maybe it’s mma
I did it and now my fingertips are cracked and dry

i think i’ll take the ghetto route and do the old bite my nails off trick 😅
😆 🤣 lol ikr
Instead of a drill can u use a file???
Yes, is the same
Can I usr alcohol or do i have to use that nail stuff?
You have to use that nail stuff
Way too much effort. Just go to a salon and let someone else do it for you
Mona Chekchok Now that lazy! 😕
Why do her nails start from half of her nail ?
because they grew since she got them put on????
Salma Alsuhail Because your nails grow duhhhh. She took em off instead of getting a fill-in... 😧
