Get a longer screw for that wind vane. Drill a small hole through the tail end (the part that protrudes beyond the nut) and put a cotter pin or ring through it.
I always had faith in you Bros, I absolutely knew you were going to make it safely....... Mainly because this is the 3rd time ive watched you do it. And heres a heads up for you,, You make it all the way to Australia and its DELICIOUS to watch you do it. MANY MANY THANX XXX

Another adventure, new skills acquired, fantastic! But yikes, storm in the night, shepherd’s fright!!! 🥵🥶 Thanks for sharing, looking forward to seeing Bermuda! 😎
Well done lads! That voyage turned out to be a gnarly experience, such is the way of the sea! But you two faced it down like a pair of old salts... Rule Britannia 🇬🇧 !
I could feel the stress from you two, I couldn't have hacked that myself. Was scary just watching it. Now you got somewhere nice, have a break and relax and pig out on some cheese. That boat is blimming amazing
It was really super stressful. But we can look back on it now and smile. At the time it was quite terrifying but we are glad we experienced it. Back down in the tropics now for a nice long rest 🌅. Atlas is King 👑
I have experienced 6 days crossing the North Sea in a Force 9, wind never below 42 knots, thankfully I was running down wind and that was bad enough, couldn’t ever imagine beating in those conditions. Well done.
Wow Fantastic video really enjoyed it. the fact you show us all the emotions of your sailing adventure makes this by far my favourite saying channel well done chaps.
Every time you go through bad patches it increases your experience and gives you evidence that you can handle it, with a splendid boat and your seamanship you are doing just fine.
It is definitely made us better sailors David. You learn by doing and we are glad we experienced that weather. And of course we have the boat to do it ⛵
Conducting a daily walk-through of boat for Chafing, loose bolts, Shackles etc... and other issues will gives you peace of mind and will help to avoid undesirable issues. Admire your courage and BTW.... You Sailing brothers ROCK!
I did half a dozen October deliveries from Massachusetts to Bermuda and always got a spanking somewhere along the line. 50 knots for 48 hours once. Well done for keeping it real. Subscribed.
Fantastic video gents. A great passage through some clearly tough conditions but you both handled it so well - that’s the Welsh spirit!! You’ve inspired me to buy my first boat last month - 24ft, nothing grand, but enough to teach the kids on. Enjoy Bermuda!
Just super glad we were in Atlas and not in any other boat. We trust her with our lives. It was terrifying however we have learned a lot and grown as sailors because of it. Thanks Ricky ⛵⛵😁😁✌️✌️👍👍🧀🧀🧀
We would never have even tried that passage in any other boat. Atlas is King 👑. We have passed through the Bermuda triangle twice now it's always a bit nerve-wracking 😲
Yours is a real human story, inspiring all of us and providing life enhancing examples of genuine endurance and team work. Well done lads…….love the sailing too……oh and well done Atlas.
Brilliant job guys. Terrific video. Exciting and engaging. Really enjoyed the mix of piano music. Very happy to have found your channel. Continue safe sailing.
Without doubt the best sailing channel on TH-cam. You two are such down to earth blokes and such accomplished sailors. Between you and Atlas there appears to be nothing you can't handle. We're all living the dream vicariously through your adventures and looking forward to whatever comes next. Keep up the fine work chaps.
Thank you brothers for that handshake it means a ton to me. Double rum for you lads n pizza Supreme. Once again your courage was tested and humbly gave your boat full credit. Be safe n straighten up your fine boat. Rick

You really did have a lot to catch up on Paul. Thank you so much for joining our patreon it's fantastic to have you part of the family 🧀😁. We Believe our crazy adventure is not just for sailors to enjoy but for everyone ✌️
How do you heave too? Also when you heave to play some music loudly. It stops your mind concentrating on the wind howling. It almost seems like it is getting calmer. It really works.
Heaving to is accomplished by backing the headsail (i.e., sheeting it to the windward side). This counteracts the force of the main sail. However our boat will heave to very well just under the main sail alone. Music might help as it's the wind noise which terrifies you 😧
@@TheSailingBrothers The music does help and let me know if you try it. Yes i should have been more specific at how your boat hove (heaved?) to. Thanks for that. We hove to in the Tasman under a storm trysail on a long keeler. We pumped up the music to just reduce the sound of the wind. Thanks for your replies.
Tough weather matches by a tough boat and the 2 brothers who sail her you must be proud of her and yourselfs, would like to see you use your safety harness please be safe.

We definitely need to make an improvement as we do not want to lose part of our vane 👍
Up with the big boys now, sailing through a gale. Well done, Atlas, and yourselves. Love your trials and tribulations. Another very emotional video.
