Love everything you have planned. I'd say before you button up the ceiling (if you have not done so already) and walls, incorporate the speakers for your TV and maybe the sub buried in the wall somewhere like the closet. You're going through so much effort to make a gorgeous space, it'd be slick to minimize the intrusion of the speakers into the room. Teddy Roosevelt spaces don't need speaker wires and bulky speaker boxes showing, but if you're going to have a nice TV, the sound should keep pace. Look forward to seeing the progress.

I'm doing a similar room in my basement. I'm going to add a Winmau dart board and the wiring for a Samsung Frame TV to pull double duty as a TV when I want it to be, and a screen for dashboards that I need to keep an eye on whilst I'm working. Other than that, the cigar lounge feel is very nice. My room in question will also have a cold storage off of it. So I'll have floor to ceiling bookshelves with a bookcase murphy door to hide the room.

Love the idea for the new project! I hope this series gets better traction than the Casita (bad timing there…did I’d make the move?) Love the hidden door idea. The only thing I would add are a few Ethernet cable from wherever you keep your router down to various sides of the room, so you don’t have to worry about wifi dead spots and can record your podcast down there. Wired is always better than wireless from a performance standpoint. Eliminate that headache while you can.

The casita is still hiding out in the barn. It became a low priority when we moved and Covid hit. Someday I’ll get back to it.

I will be along for every bit of these projects. Would have even liked what you have done so far. Only thing I think of that might be cool would be a wall mural on the back wall. If you want to stick with a teddy Roosevelt styled scheme you might want to consider disguising or hiding the high-tech items. I am half way through doing something similar in my workshop. By day it is a stock standard woodworking bench and tool storage setup. It changes into nerd party mode with a few sliding and hinged panels. Fully functional in both modes. Win win.
