  • Blacksmith Boot Camp: Season 2 Episode 10, the season finale.
Most of the class had a rough start to their season at Heartland Horseshoeing School. Becoming a farrier here isn't easy. The standard is high. For some, it's also a frustrating end. But one thing all students agree on is that every drop of blood, sweat, and tear was worth it. No matter the outcome, their futures are bright having made it through this place. This is only the beginning.

Met Brant Walden, 2022 graduate. We crossed paths at the local Home Depot and had a great conversation. Reminded me of my youth over 40 years ago when I worked for a local Vet. and helped with shoeing and trimming of breeding stock and show horses. Brant seems like a very well rounded young man with great character. I think he will go far in life and in his Farrier services. Thanks for helping all these young people to be great productive citizens in our communities.

Hopefully you have a small feel for what it's like to become one of the best you can be. That's what happens at Heartland. Amazing to witness. Good luck, and in the words of so many Heartlanders, don't give up.

I recently bought a 17 hand Percheron and he was part of a team and put in stocks for shoeing and trims. There aren’t any Ferriers around so how would you recommend a 53 year old proceeds?
