@@jameswise3971 Bruh..... I think I know exactly what you're talking about. Laidlaw had Ex-BART Express 1988 Phantoms over in North Carolina and South Carolina back in the early 2000's.
@@That_Handle My friends own a lot of buses. We just restore them back into original shape and have photo shoots around town with them when we take them for joy rides.
Not a bad bus! Although it does need a bit of work, at least it runs and drives fine. How come it stalled out at one point? Those accelerations through the gears were just awesome! On the first one, how much throttle did he give it? I assume the second acceleration was full throttle, right? Loved that exterior revving in between the accelerations as well! Why did he have to rev it up? I thought you said the transmission was smoking a little in 5th gear. So what happened to this bus? Did your friend purchase it or not? If he did, would love more ride along videos on it, that 6V92T Detroit and HTB748 Allison sound just beautiful!
Agreed. It was running off of the red fuel canister at first. Yes 2nd take off seemed like full throttle. The muffler is completely rusted out and was blowing smoke into the interior of the bus. It could have potentially caught fire. Bus is still at this location and friend didn't buy it.
@@TheCRTman Ah, gotcha. Too much work for him to do on it, I suppose? Hopefully someone will buy it and keep it preserved, and maybe even do videos on it!
Thanks for this! I worked for Hertz at Logan from 1988-2003, and have driven this very bus more times than I can count.
Great to see it going again!
That is amazing! Do you remember how many of these Logan airport had back in the day?
@@TheCRTman If memory serves, about a dozen.
@@EmilGeithner Cool thanks!
It reminds me of the 1988 Gillig Phantom I rode to Wake Tech. The sound of the Detroit with the Allison Transmission is awesome!
Which agency ran it?
@@TheCRTman the fallen flag Laidlaw Transit
It ran well until January 2007. The motor blew

Nice. I'm also surprised to see Stratford 9745 still intact.
I think he still has it.
Awesome video! This bus sounds good.
Thank you! It does. Just needs quite a bit of work so far.
What are your plans with a bus?

I just love a 6v92t.
Best engine in existence.
