Where I live, Maine USA, the law is when you're 16 or 17 you can date someone up to 5 years older than you, for a 16-year-old that would be 21 and for a 17-year-old 22. I find this acceptable because the brain development around these ages isn't really that different, The prefrontal cortex is not finished until 25 so as long as you don't have anyone under 18 dating anyone over 25 it's not really a given that it would be abusive in nature or hebophilia. He dated a 25-year-old later on which says basically that he's not exclusively attracted to teenagers. I think they're trying very hard to cancel him and have no proof. There's Romeo and Juliet laws in many places, most people understand that you can't stop the 16 or 17-year-old from dating the boyfriend that's only a couple years older than them. Other than TH-cam making it hard for a lot of creators to monetize stuff, the field's doing really well. Loads of r/nosleep stories getting optioned for screen over the last few years too. Most don't pan out but it's cool that it's finally getting attention. There's loads of genuinely really good stuff in internet horror. The spike in Mr Nightmare's views were because it was October. The field absolutely pops off even more than usual every October, from pretty much the 1st of the month. And horror creators usually go extra hard on the content grind that month for obvious reasons.

This case really muddies the water of what it means to be a predator. I personally don't think a person in their early to mid 20s dating a 17 year old is predatory. If that person was in their late 30s it would be a bit different. Or if the older person was an educator and the younger was a student, THEN that would be effed up. But the situation at hand, I don't see any problems with. HOWEVER if he was truly abusive, then that would be a problem. But I'm not about to condem someone for that when I haven't got the proof.

Where I live, Maine USA, the law is when you're 16 or 17 you can date someone up to 5 years older than you, for a 16-year-old that would be 21 and for a 17-year-old 22. I find this acceptable because the brain development around these ages isn't really that different, The prefrontal cortex is not finished until 25 so as long as you don't have anyone under 18 dating anyone over 25 it's not really a given that it would be abusive in nature or hebophilia. He dated a 25-year-old later on which says basically that he's not exclusively attracted to teenagers. I think they're trying very hard to cancel him and have no proof. There's Romeo and Juliet laws in many places, most people understand that you can't stop the 16 or 17-year-old from dating the boyfriend that's only a couple years older than them. They often meet in school and one of them will graduate first and become an 'adult' first. Personally I think the Romeo and Juliet laws are fine. Have you ever tried to stop a 17-year-old from dating whoever they want?
I mean I think a 21 year old dating a 16 year old is pretty gross. that's a junior in high school and a senior in college, they're at completely different levels of maturity and independence.

My fiancé is 11 years older than me. I was 25 when I met him. A "power imbalance" is not always a bad thing. He has always been patient with me when I was going through challenging times and 8 years later I have grown and learned so much from him and in general.
We were equals in everything but maturity and education. I actually made more money until I went back to school, now I am more educated and one day will probably make more money.
This kind of age difference does not work for everyone, but it isnt always a bad thing. Real relationships are dynamic, power DYNAMICS are dynamic lol. Both people need to trust the other that when they have more "power" they wont be abusive about it.

Tom, creepypasta and internet horror still does massively well. I worked as the Creative Director/staff writer for The NoSleep Podcast until March this year, and it's more popular than ever. Other than TH-cam making it hard for a lot of creators to monetize stuff, the field's doing really well. Loads of r/nosleep stories getting optioned for screen over the last few years too. Most don't pan out but it's cool that it's finally getting attention. There's loads of genuinely really good stuff in internet horror.
The spike in Mr Nightmare's views were because it was October. The field absolutely pops off even more than usual every October, from pretty much the 1st of the month. And horror creators usually go extra hard on the content grind that month for obvious reasons.

This case really muddies the water of what it means to be a predator. I personally don't think a person in their early to mid 20s dating a 17 year old is predatory.
If that person was in their late 30s it would be a bit different. Or if the older person was an educator and the younger was a student, THEN that would be effed up. But the situation at hand, I don't see any problems with.
HOWEVER if he was truly abusive, then that would be a problem. But I'm not about to condem someone for that when I haven't got the proof.

speaking as someone who has had to prove abuse had taken place against me, it is such a vunerable and intimidating situation, I could not even imagine opening my mouth with an accusation unless I could back it up, it's already difficult and a shitty situation to be in to have to come out and talk about what someone has done to you, even if I was deeply disturbed by something someone had done to me, if i had no proof, I don't think I would even reference it publically, let alone make a public accusation. Not to discredit anyone, everyone is different and if it did happen, it's awful, but as someone who has had to talk about abuse in a public setting, I just don't understand why there was no evidence at all
