Much respect to the director of photography (or director) who paid a lot of attention to the set design. Not many film makers would think about small details like littering a firing position with tons of spent brass...and the fact that they represent detonations as black and grey clouds and not big orange explosions adds to the realism. Getting the gear correct (Soviet armor and small arms) is a huge bonus. There's nothing worse than seeing a Patton dressed up like a Panther in big budget movies.

That was the most realistic depiction I've ever seen. Enough so that I was a good minute into the clip before realizing that it wasn't actual combat photography. Other than the RPGs seeming a little too colourful, I feel that they nailed this one. That kid who squatted completely out of cover to dump a magazine in the general direction of the enemy? Yep, seen that happen. And that kid also survived doing something I'd thought stupidly suicidal.

Iraq had weapons sold to them by russia, China, usa, germany, Britain, we only had what shah bought when he was ruling like the F14 you mentioned american m47/m48 or M60A1s were also used that were bought from shah. But germany sold iraq his chemical weapons which they used to kill the kurds in iraq and wage an unfair war. Which ultimately ended in iran winning.

Yes but the frontline was 1600km long as the shared border between Iran and Iraq is longer than any found between two countries in Europe, thus most WW1 frontlines in Europe were tiny in comparison.

And the second soldier was given a grenade and the third soldier had to chase them and by killing the Iraqi soldiers they got good weapons like this Kalashnikov (this memory was from the beginning of the war. It must have been hell, please correct me if I am wrong here, Iran was not only fighting Iraq but the US too, the US wanted this war and provided $billions in state of the art military weapons and even had advisers helping operate the weaponry, What those Iranian soldiers must have faced was horror and as you said they must have been the bravest of men.
That was a damn sight better than Hollywood would do! The Iran-Iraq War started when I was in High School and there were many talks about who would be the preferred winner. Saddam Hussein's Iraq was the favoured. But I always told Class Mates and Teachers that Iran would just outlast them. Stalemate and an uneasy Peace would follow.
Politics and everything else aside, it was a very unfair battle, one side was completely isolated and had access to no new weapons while Iraq received simultaneous help from the soviets and the West at large. And they were supplied with and given the green light to use chemical weapons with international silence. Had it not been because of great human sacrifice, Iran would have been overrun in a matter of weeks as many predicted at the time...
Only part that annoyed me a bit was the guy with the RPG who just stood there while the pillbox LMG was spraying dirt up infront of him. He was way to calm and unresponsive to the bullets hitting right infront of him and it was pretty clear they were aiming at him, since he was aiming straight back at them.

Haven't seen this movie or even knew it existed. But if this clip is anything to go by the production values at least must be pretty damn good. Details like the track sprawled behind the disabled tank are excellent. There may be echoes of Saving Private Ryan here but so what? Practically every war movie since has been influenced by it one way or another.
Quite an excellent illustration of the chaos that follows after the assault takes place -close quarters combat, confusion, fear, smoke, explosions, death....
My Uncle fought in this war my father died in the Offensive to take Basra. My uncle has breathing problems from Iraqi chemical attacks to this day. It was Iran vs the world. I do not support the Islamic Republic in any way but this was a full on Arab invasion into the Persian homeland.

Looks like very similar to real battle footages of the war. I like it, very realistic. Maybe bullet sounds would be a little bit better. But in general, I like the scene. Congrats.
All the details in this from set, direction, how the soldiers fight (their tactics, training and lack thereof which you'd expect of conscripts & volunteers), use of artillery and tanks and the power of close in anti tank makes me think this film had some consultants who were actual veterans of this war and listened to them well.
The militia was so poor we couldn’t even afford a rpg-7 so we had to make a huge grande and when the Iraqi tank came close we throw it underneath so it could damage the tracks or the Engine.
Good battle scene, but when I watched it first, it felt like something was missing. Watched it again and I realized that the battlefield has no corpses on it, just vehicle wreckage.

Etc etc, all in all, there was no communist parties (it was against islam so most of them were killed)

the RPG propellant burns completely before the projectile leaves the barrel. So, no smoke trail behind the rocket travelling to the target.

I am surprised by the art of photography and the wonderful direction. This movie is of better quality than many American films. All due respect to the director and the cast.

Yes but the frontline was 1600km long as the shared border between Iran and Iraq is longer than any found between two countries in Europe, thus most WW1 frontlines in Europe were tiny in comparison.

A gun that overheats or jams after a few more shots. And the second soldier was given a grenade and the third soldier had to chase them and by killing the Iraqi soldiers they got good weapons like this Kalashnikov (this memory was from the beginning of the war. The war). I, the son of that father, as an Iranian, say without exaggeration that Iranians are really brave

Saddam Hussein's Iraq was the favoured. But I always told Class Mates and Teachers that Iran would just outlast them.

Only part that annoyed me a bit was the guy with the RPG who just stood there while the pillbox LMG was spraying dirt up infront of him. He was way to calm and unresponsive to the bullets hitting right infront of him and it was pretty clear they were aiming at him, since he was aiming straight back at them.

He still has PTSD, Depression, etc but he always tries to hard for us and I'm proud of him being my father

Haven't seen this movie or even knew it existed. But if this clip is anything to go by the production values at least must be pretty damn good. Details like the track sprawled behind the disabled tank are excellent. There may be echoes of Saving Private Ryan here but so what? Practically every war movie since has been influenced by it one way or another.

My Uncle fought in this war my father died in the Offensive to take Basra. My uncle has breathing problems from Iraqi chemical attacks to this day. It was Iran vs the world. I do not support the Islamic Republic in any way but this was a full on Arab invasion into the Persian homeland.

I knew an Iranian who fought in this war. The Iraqis, he said, were better trained and had far more and better weapons while the Iranians had far more troops. He told me he was the only survivor of his company.

All the details in this from set, direction, how the soldiers fight (their tactics, training and lack thereof which you'd expect of conscripts & volunteers), use of artillery and tanks and the power of close in anti tank makes me think this film had some consultants who were actual veterans of this war and listened to them well.

The militia was so poor we couldn’t even afford a rpg-7 so we had to make a huge grande and when the Iraqi tank came close we throw it underneath so it could damage the tracks or the Engine.

Good battle scene, but when I watched it first, it felt like something was missing. Watched it again and I realized that the battlefield has no corpses on it, just vehicle wreckage.

Etc etc, all in all, there was no communist parties (it was against islam so most of them were killed)
