- In this episode of the SubTonic Bass Build, its time to apply the finish and assemble this instrument. After applying a couple coats of Osmo TopOil, I was able to begin the assembly process. I bolted on the neck, installed the pickup and bridge, then completed the wiring and strung it up. I can't explain how satisfying it is to see this guitar come to life. Its been over a year in the making and now the Hayley Guitars ST-4 SubTonic Bass is alive. Now I need to learn to play bass.

As a fellow left-hander, and bass player, it was cool to see a unique style build. I have always been a slave to whatever style and finish a brand decides to offer in their left-handed models, so seeing you build something unique was appealing.
Thank you fellow lefty! You said it perfectly. We only get access to what the big brands decide to make. It's frustrating and a big part of why I started building guitars. There are things I wanted but weren't made as a left handed model.
I love medium scale basses. I wish more manufacturers would make them.
I get the idea you are thrilled with your new bass. Beautiful guitar well made. Congratulations.
I like that wiring style. Pickup selector switch, vol, and tone. I really don't like the vol-vol-tone setup. It's really innconvenient if you get a tone you like and just want to turn the volume down. You either need a pedal, or you have to go to the amp.
Bass sounds good, pretty much like most humbucker-equipped basses. it's a good clean look too. Really well executed. Great job Jeff.
Amazing work, man! It looks great! 😃
Really well done!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Looks great Jeff. It is nice to watch another build video from you.
SUBTONIC!! Great to see it finished, dude! Looks great!
Looks really nice Jeff, bet you're well pleased with it😊
Congratulations! Very nice, cant wait to see it in person!
Nice set of strings you made man.
Great build. Good job!
Looks great Jeff. Nice Job.
Jeff that is awesome. Nice!!!!
Wow, great job.
Grreat video jeff , bridge pickup is to close to the bridge in my taste but it will sound like a ken smith probably he uses that close too.🎉
Nice
What song is it this time?
Oh, there's been a strange mix of songs. I don't even know where some came from. Lol. Its gone from Garth Brooks, to Metallica, to Glen Campbell. I don't know why. I haven't even heard some of those in years.
Is it a song, or voices? lol
