BTW, for anyone curious, you can calculate the distance from the bridge any fret should be with this: scale length/2^(x/12). X is the fret number. Also, you can subtract this result from the scale length to get the distance from the nut. For example, on a 25.5 inch scale guitar, to find the first fret, just type into the calculator 25.5/2^(1/12), and it's about 24.07 inches away from the bridge or 1.43 away from the nut. That's Dr. Brian May, I think you'll find.
He went back to complete his astrophysics doctorate after a short sabbatical... where he was Queen's guitarist for several decades.
While no doubt they were geniuses, they also took like 2 years to build it, rather than 1 day lol
I love how knowledgeable and experienced Simon is, just not quite in the right areas.
Yeah...
It's like asking plumber to do a gas piping work
Edit : high pressure gas piping work
Watching them make this guitar is reminding me of that feeling you get when you're trying to finish a school project at 3 in the morning on the day it's due...
ive been playing guitar for four years. i always put off learning about wiring and the insides because it seemed really intimidating. This video inspired me to build my own very basic guitar.
me too, i like using the router
The wiring in a guitar is literally as simple of a circuit you can get. It's basically just a potentiometer, probably 10k ohms
@@spartanguitarist6579 do you want to see my pee nis?
@@tonyvelasquez6776 for a second I thought you said something else lol
@@spartanguitarist6579 hi deer what r u thinking I'm saying?
"The time to be accurate with the frets has passed. The time for chaos is now." - Rob Scallon, 2021.
Spoken like a true chaotic evil.
I feel like it's more chaotic neutral, tbh. He's not inherently doing evil things. Just whatever he wants, because he can lol
“i played guitar for like 8 years and i didn’t even know what a truss rod was so i don’t think it matters”
i’d hate to see whatever guitars you were playing
I'm sure they had truss rods and he just didn't pay attention to them.
I mean I also went a few years without knowing what a truss rod was. I played an SG when I started and never knew until I took it in for a repair and the guy showed me how to remove the cover and adjust it
@@zerofox641 ya I agree I’ve been playin for a year or so and I know what it is but have never messed with it. I think he had one and just didn’t know what it was for cause u can’t play classical guitars for 8 straight lmao
@@ryanchalker8196 It's literally one of the easiest things to adjust on the entire guitar. Why is everyone scared of it. Set your neck relief, it's probably fucked.
Had my Gibson SG for 15 years, never had to adjust the truss rod since I got it. Come to think of it... I've only had to adjust 1 of my guitars to make it playable.
I love how the level of effort just drops throughout the video
The fact that this makes a single sound is incredible 😂😂
"The time to be accurate with the frets has passed, the time for chaos is now." 😂😂😂
when he said " this is two pieces of wood right? "
i spilled my coffe
I mean he's not wrong
Just finished watching the entirety of Rob's video with Schecter Guitars and wow........
This video tells a lot.
Great work guys.
It’s so funny how you can tell the exact moment in the process where rob loses his damn mind
This is so cool to watch. I just finished building a guitar/banjo/psaltery hybrid for my architectural capstone project and it’s fun to see him running into the same problems I had!
...this is the most metal guitar ever. It will chug, but it will take your blood.
I'm wanting to get into making guitars since I want to really have that special feeling of playing something I made, but I'm afraid of not doing a good job. Seeing you guys fuck around and not know what you are doing makes me feel like I'm not alone.
This gave me strong The Office vibe when Michael was making his own company
I've known both of these two most of my life, and seeing both of their skillsets and unique brands of crazy working together is fantastic.
Rob Scallon creates the most metal guitar ever.
Brand name: Tallon = Taylor Scallon.
Sounds more metal to me.
