Feed the world was the greatest part of my childhood, and ever since RedPower shutdown, I've been trying to get back those mods you used. But this is the greatest thing I could've gotten for my efforts. I wasn't looking for the fun and expansive mods, I was looking for a new beginning, like what you sought when you started FTW.
The worms from Actually Additions are used for farming. If you right-click dirt or grass with them, you place them on the block and they will till the block and the surronding 8 blocks. If you plant something on these blocks, they will speed up the growth. They can not be placed right next to each other. I'm so happy to see AA make a return. Canola Oil is one of my favorite ways to produce power.
1. You can make ladders derectly from wood 2. /home for fast travel is ok until u get access to waystones, because the more u run, the less we get :) 3. It's good to use copper hammer early game to double ores (especially iron) 4. Worms are used for farming, they tilt, wet and speed up crops in a 3x3 area
The food and cooking mods have always been really intriguing to me. You should definitely try to make a kitchen that utilizes as many fruits, vegies, meats, and other ingredients. I appreciate that you are asking for input as to how you would like your series to progress.
Love to see a farming series back sjin, not sure what I want from this series but I definitely like the slower pace and showing how you building your farm in real time. O and home command is a bit cheaty but for your series it's acceptable. Keep them coming sjin.
22:51 the iron bars you needed for the suply camp xD , love the video that it's all natural with less edit that you can enjoy .. not only cut parts and half of the stuff you don't see!
This is even better than the Jaffa cake factory. I love both of this. Don’t tell me are you gonna bring back an old friend? Here’s a hint 🍓🖐️. If you guess it then you’re a genius If not, enjoy the show !
Finally! We deserved a good homenage to the OG. Also oh my god sjin. An fabulous idea for a future series about this modpack would've to add an space mod and make a farm (or colony) on the moon. That would've soo epic.... Not only because it would've way more hard (because you would need to generate oxygen). But also because i've never saw you really focus on a space mod. Also about the set home and home commands.... I think it's absolutelly fine. I mean, it can save you a bad time. Which is already good enough to call it ok. Also for the worm item... It's use is, as long as i remember, to how land for you. So you can use a bunch of these to do the howing work for you
I agree with this, add on that it would mean less editing because of being able to skip the return trip in early game. As long as he doesn't abuse it like I do. "I wonder if I can /home before I hit the ground..."
don't forget some trees like the paper white and sinamum tree require you to bonemeal the trunk not the leaves. place worms spread out on crops, helps the crops grow. use the home command.
One thing I'd suggest is watching out when you're going for a swim or hopping into a boat in All the Mods 10. The version of the pack I've been playing in features a mod called Living Things, which adds sharks to the larger bodies of water. These are an awesome source of bonemeal, as one of the drops from them (I don't know the rates) is 1-3 shark teeth per kill, which can be crafted over into bonemeal at the same rate as actual bones. But watch out, as I've had a shark bite me, even when I'm in a boat, as well as chew on my boat until it popped, and it was the version with a chest in the back, and that was pretty full as well. I'd also be careful what kind of shenanigans you get up to in actual villages, like looting the houses, as there are new priest villagers added by the version of Iron's Spells and Spellbooks, and each one features sixty hit points and can spam a homing attack at the player that hits for six hp per shot.
22:24 villager trade and the discounts you get from healing explorers and a pulpit to recruit them as a librarian turning one into a Fletcher and leaving the other unemployed to play with a villager trading on Easy actually makes dealing with zombie villagers more difficult which has no other functions for you!
Worms you place on farmland and they help the plants that you plant grow a little faster. I found this out through a different modpack that had that mod in it...But yeah basically you'll see the worm just moving around a bit on the farmland to show that it's working. essentially it's a "Make this grow faster" like the watering can...I'm not sure if it's just on the one plant you put it on or if it has a range, after all i haven't used that mod in a while...But yeah they help with farming by making plants grow faster ^_^
I think using /home is generally fine if You go out for a quick resource grab, it's day and there's a lot of walking. Just saves on time. Also, I think as a side focus You might want to explore some of the different dimensions. Haven't done that in a while. Might be fun. Also also, craft some rope. I find it very useful during exploration pre flight.
ah yes a classic comfort series renewed! and as others said, i'd say the teleport is no problem especially in circumstances where you'd basically just be wandering back over territory you've already been on. (and ofc i, ever the plant collector irl, am curious about mods in relation to that. honestly i just love more visual mods as well, like create over mechanism for an example)
The worms make it so you don't need water to make your farm. If I remember correctly, the worms make a 9 block square that you can plant in without using water because they keep the land hydrated and farmable. Also, the "Home" option is always nice to utilize when you go on long trips and don't really want to walk all the way back. Using it for quick teleports to save a lengthy run is always acceptable.
Hey Sjin love to see more in depth story telling and lore, but as for mods pnumaticcraft as ypu cam get a mini gun amd missiles. Also love to see you go full hobbit farm and aesthetic
Love the location, I was skeptical of the tall tree biomes since everytime I start in them I get annoyed by the lack of terrain just free for digging immediately.
Wow Sjin, its been a minute but golly am I excited for this new playthrough! I watched every episode of the original FTW 11 years ago WTF. (PS: Tai-Guh is correct )
Can't wait to see how you progress through this modpack... It's an amazing pack.. A few hints Convert your coal so you get 8 small coal, that way you only use 1 small coal for each item you smelt / cook instead of wasting them. /home is entirely up to the way you play, I use it normally when i'm deep in the mine and just can't be bothered to run back, but that my choice.... The worm "used to" be on a 3x3 block and would hydrate the blocks without the need for a water source near, and also help with the growth aswell.....
It'll take some time to fill out an entire field with it, but it would be a good idea to use Rich Soil instead of just regular farmland to grow things because of several reasons: -Rich Soil is unbreakable, you don't have worry about running on it, jumping on it, or mobs running over it and phasing it back to regular dirt as it will retain its farmland form and keep seeds in place unless you break the block. -Rich soil makes crops grow a lot faster so you won't need to bonemeal crops if you're low or need a lot of crops fast. -Rich soil doesn't have a water requirement just like Phyto soil, crops will grow and grow fast regardless if there's a water source near it or not. - And most importantly, Rich Soil is portable, so if you ever want to move your whole farm or sections of farmland you can dig up the soil and place it back anywhere without any issue, all you gotta do is use a hoe on it and it's as good as new. The only downside is that it takes a long time for compost to turn to Rich Soil even if you put it next to a water source and place a mushroom on it, the transformation can take a few minutes.
9:14 An excellent mod. It's more than just a tombstone mod, there are powerful tablets, a leveling system with perks, a way of taking enchantments from enchanted things and putting them in books, and even seasonal bonuses like there was candy that dropped from enemies that you could trade for goodies.
Also, to make it more challenging, how about limiting Mystical Agriculture access behind something else? Such as, making a MineColony town focused on it, or having to automate it using Create?
Watched this series sooo long ago and just had a feeling to look you up, and here you are again.. same series, first episode uploaded just 2 hours ago! What are the odds? :’)
FEED THE WORLD! LET'S GOOO! Throwback extraordinaire! 39:29 ActuallyAdditions Worms at least used to be used on farmland to increase crop growth on that specific farmland block, might've been in a 3x3 area, can't remember, it also keeps the farmland tilled without water if it's the same as it used to be, it might be bait these days too, not sure. 42:00 If you wanna change so that you can use them to automatically water through fake players, there's 2 places you need to change, the mod specific config files and the teamsetting in JEI or what it's called nowadays up in the left corner.
I love to chilax and watch FTW. 🙂 /home = Yes, fine to skip long treks home or get back with full inventories from mining (I'm also OK with the /back once you've emptied your inventory). FTB Chunk claiming = yes at your main base (and force load that area for farm/machines).
Using magma blocks to explore flooded caves is actually a relatively safe way to grab your first handful of diamonds. The trick is to keep some magma on your hotbar so you don't have to rummage in your pockets while drowning.
Happy to see a new Feed the World! For mod suggestions, I've really enjoyed Just Dire Things (Made by a TH-camr so it has really good video tutorials), Evilcraft (great QoL stuff like a repairing chest that can repair almost anything and quickly, pretty early game flight on brooms, and a fun and intuitive in game book), and Irons Spells and Spellbooks is a straightforward, fun, and pretty useful magic mod. Productive Bees seems 100X more broken then mystical agriculture in this pack. I would say that mystical agriculture feels like hard mode more then cheating 😅. I say /home is allowed. You could go grab two waystones in 5 minutes and have basically the same effect and there are tons of cheap recall spells and technologies. Just switch to a legit way when you can. This pack takes hundreds of hours for us mere mortals to get to the endgame, why waste a few early on because of bad luck or poor planning. Thanks for reading! P.S. Less then a month till Stormlight 5!
That little bunker would have been perfect for a base. I would love to see Chipped, Farmer's Delight, and Pam's Harvest Craft 😊 If you're 10+ minutes from home base, definitely use the home command
The only thing that hurt my heart from this video. there was an empty bundle bag in the second lot chest in the tower that was left. With inventory at a premium, it can at least hold 60 items till you get back to your chests to dump stuff in.
Oh the worms, if they are the same as before than they are a kind of bonemeal. they water, plow and fertilise a 3 x 3 patch, no water needed. Maybe you can cook them, too... but not sure on this ^^
Feed the world was the greatest part of my childhood, and ever since RedPower shutdown, I've been trying to get back those mods you used. But this is the greatest thing I could've gotten for my efforts. I wasn't looking for the fun and expansive mods, I was looking for a new beginning, like what you sought when you started FTW.
Holy smokes thanks!, yeah there’s a nice bunch of chill farming mods in this pack that I’m excited to just chill out with
Jaffa factory and feed the world we’re so back
I totally love the country rhythm you started with. 😊
@@staceylindermen5240i miss when they used sphax

We are sooo back

Now this takes me back. The original feed the world was my first series i watched from sjin
Ha Ha I was thinking the exact same thing.
the opening jingle hit me with an intense sense of nostalgia
The worms from Actually Additions are used for farming. If you right-click dirt or grass with them, you place them on the block and they will till the block and the surronding 8 blocks. If you plant something on these blocks, they will speed up the growth. They can not be placed right next to each other.
I'm so happy to see AA make a return. Canola Oil is one of my favorite ways to produce power.
"jesus fed a hill, and it was just bread"
the fish: tf am i then? XD
22:55 You splash the zombie villager with a weakness potion and feed them a golden apple. Then they will become a normal villager.
not only that you have evrything you need in this basement the splash potion is always in the brewing stand and the golden apple in the chest
This was introduced to explain how you could turn zombie villagers back into normal villagers
1. You can make ladders derectly from wood
2. /home for fast travel is ok until u get access to waystones, because the more u run, the less we get :)
3. It's good to use copper hammer early game to double ores (especially iron)
4. Worms are used for farming, they tilt, wet and speed up crops in a 3x3 area
the banjo returns, havent heard that in a while glad to see this return
Home is fine if you're safe, unharmed, and just cutting travel time, imho.
I agree
28:09 That cutaway as Sjin is burning, then fade to topside with a new death waypoint right under him.
he's doing a farming series not a survival not all deaths are worth recording
Its nice seeing Sjin back on my recommended. I remember when I was watching you when I was 12 years old, now im 22. Glad your back!
39:41 Worms will automatically till and hydrate the 3x3 area it is in. It will also cause the crops planted around it to grow slightly faster.
Didn't know thanks!
The food and cooking mods have always been really intriguing to me. You should definitely try to make a kitchen that utilizes as many fruits, vegies, meats, and other ingredients.
I appreciate that you are asking for input as to how you would like your series to progress.

I mean if he doesn't use home command, it'll just be a jump cut to after he walked back. Might as well save him the personal time.
Set homes have been around since tekkit lol, it's nothing new and saves teleporting mods.
Wow minecraft has come a long way it’s so beautiful.
"See if you can find a boat" had me laugh out loud... Such a throwback
Loving how the series is starting out! I think it's great to see the process of setting up and getting ready in a new world, it feels cozy!
22:51 the iron bars you needed for the suply camp xD , love the video that it's all natural with less edit that you can enjoy .. not only cut parts and half of the stuff you don't see!
There's nothing quite like going back and binge watching a bunch of Sjin.
Holy shit. I practically grew up on feed the world.
I know i am so late but that intro brough back so many childhood memory of your original feed the world series from years ago i used to watch

At the beginning of the game, I believe the "home" commands are fine. Once you start getting other means of travel, it becomes kind of useless.
I agree with this, add on that it would mean less editing because of being able to skip the return trip in early game. As long as he doesn't abuse it like I do.

We are so back!!! The original TFW series was one of my favorite minecraft mod video series
Always a pleasure to randomly discover a new sjin series
Peaceful music while fire fighting and being defeated by mobs. “This is a nice place”
Loved the "cake" reference. Seems like no one else spotted it. Loving the start.
I got so excited the second I heard the music!
you could always steal the iron bars from the hidden basement to make the supply camp

Hearing that Banjo intro and Exit was Nostalgia all over again, so hyped for a Feed the World Series!
woah. im following this series now just for the seed alone. what an awesome lake
One of Sjins mods here guys and he isn't even watching for Sjin. Only the seed. Yup... that's our man Toodles lol.

It also waters the soil without water, if memory serves.
Where the zombie villager is, you could've grabbed the iron bars for the supply camps! I know you DID find a bed, but the supply camps are awesome!!

Jesus fed them fish and bread. And it was for those there.

A few hints
Convert your coal so you get 8 small coal, that way you only use 1 small coal for each item you smelt / cook instead of wasting them.
/home is entirely up to the way you play, I use it normally when i'm deep in the mine and just can't be bothered to run back, but that my choice....
The worm "used to" be on a 3x3 block and would hydrate the blocks without the need for a water source near, and also help with the growth aswell.....
Just a small tip, if you shift + scroll with your vein mine you can change the shape.
The worms make plants grow faster on a 3x3 area and also tile the soil
Worms are free passive bone meal, right click in the middle of a 3x3 square and theyll help grow em!
It'll take some time to fill out an entire field with it, but it would be a good idea to use Rich Soil instead of just regular farmland to grow things because of several reasons:
-Rich Soil is unbreakable, you don't have worry about running on it, jumping on it, or mobs running over it and phasing it back to regular dirt as it will retain its farmland form and keep seeds in place unless you break the block.

nope, totally didn't have a massive nostalgia trip the second the intro music started or anything, don't know what you're talking about.

Using magma blocks to explore flooded caves is actually a relatively safe way to grab your first handful of diamonds. The trick is to keep some magma on your hotbar so you don't have to rummage in your pockets while drowning.
