Turning 22 in two days, it feels like the last 3 years flew away in seconds. I remember realising my life could be so many different things and that I didn't know what path I should "settle in". At the time I said to myself, it's okay, you're 19, you're not supposed to know everything *yet* Today I feel like I made progress but more questions arose, different ones. Is it always gonna be this way? My thoughts aren't organized clearly on that topic. I think you've managed to express it pretty well and concisely. Thank you for sharing your reflections!
I'm 28 and I feel like it is a time for self discovery, I'm feeling so happy. If I have to give an advice for people entering 20s would be, compare yourself only with you from yesterday, treat yourself with compassion and patience, exit from social media so you can stop comparing yourself to others, don't expect a perfect partner/relationships, that doesn't exist, nobody is perfect, learning from different people makes you bigger, study about your anatomy, how your body works, hormones, and every system in your body, and lastly don't be afraid to apologize to yourself and others.
I'm not worried about you based on anything you say in your video - its all perfectly normal. Your 20s are a time of alot of change and growth. As you become older, I am very sure that you will be more comfortable with so many more things, including yourself. I have known soooo many people in their 20s who are unsure about things (I used to work with alot of graduates) but are then very different by the time their in their 30s. You don't realise (yet) how well you come across and how well put together you are. That penny will drop in time!
I'm currently 23 and every year since I've been 18 has been an emotional rollercoaster for me. Especially this year happened so much that I'm afraid what 2024 will bring. The weirdest thing is that although statistically I haven't even lived 33% of my life, I fell as if it was already coming to an end.
this is so relatable, that being said, I hear so many people telling me the best decade of their lives was their 30's because they are more financially stable, they feel more together and still young. That's something to look forward to :)
From experience, I'd say that you can feel lost at any stage of your life, not only in your 20s. It can happpen in your 30s,40s,50s and even beyond. Life changes, whether career, location, relationships, health issues, family issues, personal stuff etc can all have a profound effect on how you feel. The massive advantage you have in your 20s though is that you have sooooo much time on your side and you don't (usually) have a ton of emotional baggage or hurts from life (it's not all unicorns and rainbows I'm afraid). You should have a think about what's most important to you and focus on those things - forget about others and ignore the malign influence of social media comparisons - and walk your own path that's true to yourself. Hint: you need somewhere to live (ie house), money to pay the bills, some sort of purpose or role (this doesn't need to be profound), and most importantly quality relationships in your life.
100% agree with this. The only thing I would add is that with regard to the 'travelling thing', I did alot of travelling in my 20s and looking back, I wish I had done less of it and instead spent more focus on things that would have set me up better for the future ie putting down a deposit on a house, as you can easily spend a fortune on travelling. It also depends if/who you're travelling with and what you can learn / relationships you can build as part of that experience. I did alot of solo travelling and it got to a stage where it felt aimless at times because it can be so transient. How does it build for the future?
Thank you, Lucy! Another video where every word was in common with what i experience. For a lot of time i thought there's something wrong with me. As an international student in a different country with different language, conservative people and community, it is pretty easy to lose yourself- i was so happy to finally hear someone speak about it. It is like a constant change of characters. You try to be your true self, but every expression is taken differently as if it was going to be taken in your home country in your already familiar society. And yet i have not found solution to it. I find it interesting because it is like if we are still small children learning our mother language and behaving like every person we see, but in this case the amount of energy we give is enormous. That leads to being socially tired and yet not feeling fulfilled, because you couldn't be 100% understood from the others. I try and will continue trying being myself when talking to people, but i find it difficult. Thank you again for making this video! ❤❤❤
Thank you for making this video! I’m 24 and at times (a lot of the time!) I feel like I’m behind even people who are younger than me. Trying to stay grounded, enjoying simple pleasures and focusing on what I enjoy 😌 so nice to hear other people going through these emotions because it normalises these fears and doubts- which almost almost removes them in a strange way! loving vlogmas❤
this is so nice to hear (that i'm not alone, not that you're also feeling this way haha)! i think support from other people going through it is so important ❤
You're wise to observe these things now, because that's the first step of growth and change. Most people die by 27, we just bury them at 72. Our world is set up by the way others expect out of us, and there's very little regard for depth and purpose. When I make my own content, I keep that in mind. 20s is an opportunity to be intentional about our choices and explore things that aren't conventionally "normal." The first step is figuring out where we want to end up. Knowing where you want to go, that’s going to shape everything we do beneath it. Great video:)
please make a video about minimalism? You addressed this topic a while ago on your channel and I miss it 🥲 maybe an end of year reset? cleaning cupboards, papers, shoes, makeup heheh we would love it!!
ohhhh Vlogmas day 7 is a vlog where I use no technology for the day, maybe that will answer your questions! But honestly, I'm a big cook and so sometimes it's as simple as taking my time with a nice meal or just going a long walk with music on :)
It’s really great that you talk about it. I think many people will see themselves in it. I just thought of a nice book related to this topic «The Why Cafe» by John Strelecky, maybe you will like it ☺️
That's the one motto I took a long time to have adopted which is the gist of this video. "Do that thing you want to now, because why not?" For most of my twenties I was just crippled with stuff but now I've really started to see life and seek it more slowly and have a minimalistic outlook, I'm just trying to do things I feel I should've done long ago for my fulfilment and live life slow and intentionally and do that thing, because why not? Thanks for the video. 🫶
have you ever felt lost💥?
In my 26 >.

Ah, I almost forgot, now that you don’t have social media, what are your “pass time” activities? I could also make a video “what’s on my phone?” hehe

Thank you so much!! I'm gonna immediately order it, it sounds so relevant to how i'm feeling :)
What camera do you use?
I jump between these two cameras:
Canon G7XII for vlogging
Fujifilm XT4 for nice shots
DJI mini fly for drones :)
