I don’t like reading books with spice either. Sometimes when books have so much spice it just ruins the book. I’m so glad you read Better Than The Movies!
i agree! i absolutely loved the book verity but OMG THE SPICE! it was too much and added absoluetly NOTHING to the book. if it wasn't for the spice it wouldve been a 5 star. I personally find that spice doesnt add much to a book unless its a book that is purposely meant for that kind of realtionship like 50 shades of grey.
omg yea like all the booktubers are always suggesting romances with spice and it just feels really uncomfortable (like you can't regard the characters the same anymore 😭😭) it's like some authors are just adding it because they know people want it...
@@abbyfrye01 I love better than the movies, the do over, I hope this doesn’t find you, lovely war is more of a historical fiction type of book but it’s still heavy on the romance, promchanted, Wyatt( it’s part of a series, read them in order and they are all clean), Tokyo ever after, the davenports, and twin crowns.
i’m just watching this and i loved you talking about autoimmune and invisible illness during tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow!! i also have a couple autoimmune diseases and am in constant pain and that description was beautiful! 🥺 i think i need to read it now
yes pls make more videos of 5 star reads! (and with haley tooo i watch her videos religiously you guys are so cute) this was so funn, ive read 3 of the books here, also rec'd by haley and they are honestly so good and i agree with both of ur ratings
I loved this video I feel like I am friends with you and excited about the same books! I LOVE better than the movies but none of my friends read so it was exciting to be excited with someone else about a book I love. Thanks girl!!!!
Yess so happy you mentioned TATBILB bc I eat that movie up every single time and it’s a comfort movie atp, it’s cheesy but such a good type of cheesy and very wholesome ugh I just love it sm and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it eleven times now so I’m excited to finally read better than the movies now 😁
My name is Sadee, and it was super weird but also cool that two of the books had Sadie’s as their main character. I kept wanting to respond every time you said Sadie 😂. Also I love your videos! They always feel very aesthetic and refreshing 😊
12:41- 13:43 Honestly this part of the video is SO relatable!!! I hate having an autoimmune disease (rheumatoid arthritis) as well!! The term “invisible disease” is a perfect description for it. People just don’t understand unless you tell them you’re in pain and even then sometimes they still don’t really understand it. Especially when you’re younger it’s harder to explain it to people. I’ve had way too many older people just not understand and grasp the fact that even someone my age (27) can be in intense arthritis pain. It’s not just older people who experience this “invisible disease”. I was diagnosed at 13 and it’s been a hard journey and often very discouraging and depressing for me. The way you described this being discussed in the book and how it related with you personally meant something to me. Autoimmune disease truly suck! Also, you’ve now convinced me to try reading Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. 😊 Btw as someone who’s new to your videos…what kinda of autoimmune disease do you have? Also, I’m a subscriber of your bestie Haley Pham. 😅
No because I had the same exact feeling about Better Than The Movies. My best friends all told me it was a 5⭐️ and I had tried to read it and couldn’t, tried again and ITS LITERALLY SO CUTE🪩
I really appreciate what you said about being sick. I too suffer from an auto immune disease as well as other medical conditions. Thank you for what you said.
Oof, miscommunication trope but the mom reminding you of Lorelai Gilmore makes me more excited now and I just love that your naming things I love so now my hopes are higher than they already were and I think I’ll enjoy this regardless 😌
Ur my fav ❤! I also think better than the movies is cheesy but that’s kinda what I love abt it bc it’s kind of unrealistic and I can forget abt the real world around me lol
if you want a romance w/out spice in it, I recommend Melissa Fergusons books! She's a Christian Romance author and all of her books are rlly good and have no spice or bad language in it!! Hope you make more bookish related videos!! I loved this one!!!
Such a cute video!! I also have been reading tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow for seven years now lol I keep DNFing it and then picking it up because it’s so hyped up and I want to know why hahah 😂 I also LOVEDDD Hello Stranger!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
You like when the calendar date lines up with the book you're reading...I feel that so much, lol. I'm currently reading, "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder" and the murder happened on 4/17, which is today!
Hi! I agree with you about Wes and Liz from Better Than The Movies. I am glad I am not alone in thinking Liz is obnoxious. Wes completely stole my heart and is one of my favorite book boyfriends.
If you liked Hello Stranger I feel like you would also love The Bodyguard!! Same author :) It's the book equivalent of the movie The Proposal. Super cute with a fun twist. Katherine Center is good for no spice romance
I felt the SAME EXACT WAY about better than the movies! I started it out thinking i would hate it and I couldn't put it down after a few chapters so CUTEE 🫢
Yea I usually don’t like quick romances with no slow burn which is funny cause one of my fav series is quick romance Greek mythology fantasy but it makes sense for the genre I guess
I feel the same way about spice in books! I dislike when books have those scenes and I’ll skip through but it does kind of take away from the book in my opinion. I wish it could just be a fade to black, like it’s implied but not described
I highly recommend the Montana Marshalls series by Susan May Warren. It's a romance series with some mystery, and it's Christian without taking away from the romance. No spice, 5 stars. You should really read it!
Autoimmune disease or “syndrome x” is caused by a diet of sugar. I know how much that sux because the power is literally in your hands and no one else’s to cure and it’s a huge addiction you need to overcome to be healthy. The best intro to this for you would be to learn about Mikhaila Peterson. Right here on TH-cam she will explain what autoimmune disease is and her horrible experience with it and how she cured herself. Good luck.
I wish people would stop calling if spice. It’s sex. Not spice. You’re talking about sex scenes. Spiciness the tension and will they won’t they is why we love romance. 💝
I love the way you described that feeling of sadness of not being able to enter all the worlds of all of the books because there are too many books in the world 🩵
This confirms that we’re still best friends (based on how you rated these books 😇)
WE’RE BESTIESSSSSS😍😍😍😍
Hi haley!! Love your channel sm!! You motivate me to read so much more ♥
Why did I think she edited herself into Haileys room 😭
HAHA I thought this from the thumbnail too 🤣

It’s so nice to see other people that don’t want to read smut. I wish there were more authors out there that didn’t want to write smut
