Great to see you both at Sandown, I had a great chat with you both during the day and at the end of the day as you were on your way to the car park. Top knowledgeable guys. Great informative content thank you. Charlie Lavington
Any workshop with a Kaizen board, is someone I would take my vehicle too. Excellent video keep up the good work. You obviously care about what you are doing.
in the early cars it would be in the same place and the same colour wire, like a manufacturer fault, might just nick the wire on looking or something. I’m sure to be honest
I am in the trucking industry. Working in the milk industry. Our trucks goes through a hoop wash system every time coming in to factory. So basically the wiri g remains wet. These high resistance point you just had on this volvo. ?? When its dry like yours it wont conduct. We are partially lucky as the chemical and water let it co duct in the kohm range and when we shake the wiring we can se the deflection on the multi meter. I normally do a voltage drop test to confirm the actual wiring fault 8m chasing. Once i know 9ts high resistance i connect the ohm meter. I have never got this working on a dry high resistance green crusties. It only works when its moist. Strangest way of finding it as throughout learning auto sparky stuff it should not work but seems the moist harness wet green crusties make it conduct. Isolated industry problems. And yes we have huge problems with our wiring because of the wetness. Auto sparky dream job. I honesty loving it. Loving your channel mate. You doing a great job.
Yup mate. What i do is with multi meter and test light. I use my test light across the multi meter leads and observe both light and change in voltage on multi meter works like a charm. Just a two step verification with one test. .
@@rmsdiagnostics yup mate thats one of my favorite tools to use. Works a charm to. Just been caught out once or twice on high apparage circuits where the load pro could not load it enough to flush the high resistance. Then I use the lamps of hight draw across the leads. I have done similar with the power probe. You use. Just load across the voltage measurement. I find it good for my brain to see the dim in lights and the digit change on the dmm. A few times the light will be bright enough to fool you but I see the drop on the dmm as high enough to cause the problem.
I see you use the power probe alot..... I had a wire scan years ago, works with all power probe equipment.... simple device.... just a little expensive.... I'm so miss mine......but in my game soon gets nackerd......
Really good video....are the short and open circuit detectors rubbish just wonder why you don't use them to find the open ? I don't no much but I'm trying to get better at electrics just wondered why.
as it was a low voltage the signal would have gone right to the end, that green at the fault carries current and signals, and if the line splits in different directions it throws you off. I have 3 of them and use them for a few mins if it’s a full open circuit but if it don’t point be direct I give it up
Question mate , was the 11volts that the cem was showing for secondary battery on your scan a minimum voltage the cem was able to show in data , cheers.
@@rmsdiagnostics it was interesting enough to watch it right to the end, and a good insight into what can be involved in finding something as simple as a broken wire.
yes could have done, this was 6 hours @ £75 per hour.as for making a older car uneconomical to repair unless the car was fit for the scrap yard I don’t advise customers to buy another car over repairing the car they have,if they are thinking of changing cars in the next Month or so that’s a good reason aswell, but the if the options are buying a £2-3k car and have a unknown car.or pay 1k for the car you have known for years, better the devil you know so to speak 👌👌 thanks for watching

Love it .👍You will never be out of a job with the unreliability and complexity of modern cars.
EVs will bet better
the build quality is still lacking

Great to meet up with a fellow tech,🥕🥕
Another brilliant job, love watching the fault finding 👍
Love the videos, thanks .
Glad you enjoyed it🥕🥕
very very clever man..one of the best channel on you tube
Wow, thanks! glad you like the channel 🥕🥕
superb logical diagnostics a reflection of modern teccy and the art of fixing cars
thank you mate
thank you mate
Good diagnosis. Nice repair. Impressive Bob 👍
thank you mate🥕🥕
Excellent diagnosis, well explained! Jobs a 🥕
thank you. 🥕🥕
A great video yet again Rob. Keep bringing them on.
will try mate
Top work, love the channel. Keep up the great work Guys .
thank you mate
Channel is getting better and better , jobs a carrot 😊
Glad you think so!🥕🥕
Again, another enjoyable video
thank you
First class diagnosis and result. Enjoyed the video. Amazing what cost a broken wire entails.
not easy mate

you have a good eye,must eat carrots😂
Great work Rob loving the case studies 👍🏻 I’m patiently waiting for the Vauxhall Meriva power steering pump or rear door lock 😮😮😂
I would be swearing far to much for TH-cam😂
Love your logical thought process!
Thank you!🥕🥕
Another great video, that would have been so easy to just run another wire through but i am glad to see you only Repair vehicles correctly. Well done
thanks for that,a lot of people think we are just trying to get more money from the customer 🥕🥕
This definitely beats strictly come dancing ! 😂
I love strictly 😂😂 sorry
Superb work. Thanks for sharing.Do you think cheap, Chinese wire is to blame? We’re seeing a lot of that in audio electronics😢

Great stuff I’m glad I found your channel
Welcome aboard!🥕🥕🥕
Fascinating🥕 all seems so logical😉 when you know what you are doing. Electrics on cars are a dark art and you are a wizard 😂
well thank you🥕🥕🥕
Love it. Where was my mate Barney
he don’t like you😂😂
Nice job, shows where your time goes for billing
or people think it takes the 15 mins they see in the video 🤭🤭
Like the blade probe method. Show us how you seal the cuts. Carry on with the case studies please.
a tiny bit of black gasket maker type silicone and tape,or nail varnish if we know the wire won’t shake at all
Excellent job enjoyed it
Thank you very much! 🥕🥕🥕
nice 1
thank you
love it love it love it. 🥕 wouldn't mind seeing the man cave ? 👍🧑🔧
have a look down my video list, home workshop

So true!🥕🥕
How do you get hold of the wiring diagrams 👍🏻😀

Can you help with citroen/peugeot common electric handbrake issues
I don’t see a lot of handbrake faults on them.but can help if needed

what’s the wire scan?
Do you use those broken wire detectors that you run along the looms
if it has a slight connection the signal travels through,we have them but only use them for a few minutes,I will show on a video soon
what do you use to shrink the sleeve?
I run the iron across most of the time or a small blow torch is it’s accessible

Do you prefer the blade method over a piercing probe?
try it mate, far less intrusive 🥕🥕

it looks like it yes, as soon as the wire was repaired it showed around 11.7v is before it started then 13v ish. but yes must default to 11v
@@rmsdiagnostics Thanks mate , not that much UK diag stuff like you are doing on TH-cam , really enjoy watching yours now you started them ,👍
I like to know how to read wiring diagrams. That could be a video for you. 👍🏻🇬🇧
that would turn me into some sort of trainer,I just show what I do and how I do it,I will spend a little more time on the diagrams on the next few👌👌
its clearly writen BW,BR,RD,YR
Would that been a good test of the V200 pro circuit test.
if it was full open circuit I would have tried, having low volts means it was high resistance and the signal would have carried on past the fault
Beats Corrie 👍
I’m not sure if that’s a compliment 😂😂

6 hours including reinsulating and refitting

All thanks to ALLDATA
it’s a great system,
What a strange way to wire a car, I’m sure the Freelander 2 on the same platform is wired straight into the CEM right next to the aux battery.
yes mate but I think we must question the designers thought process daily 😂😂
