Great video. I’m not a mechanic, I suck at it actually, but wrenching on bikes is almost as zen like as riding them. Dude, I love old bikes. They remind of the bikes I grew up around in the late 70’s, 80’s, and into the 90’s. Those were some good times.
Sears and roebuck was like Amazon back in the day. You could order just about anything from their catalog. I didn't know you could even get motorcycles. Nice! I want one 🤘
Wow that's awesome! Man, I've never ridden a two stroke 😅 I've always like the sound though. I recall the sears 50 from your Instagram as well. Pretty cool 👍
Left side kick starters & 2 stroke! > Did not know that Penton & KTM were connected in mfg. until this vid...I recall seeing a few of those Penton Hares during early 70's (never had opportunity to ride one though) >Around same era late 1960's early 1970's I remember an Allstate/Sears & Roebuck branded motorcycle that sat in a guys yard mostly.= Smaller displacement twin that had Bridgestone mfg tag along with the Sears frame tag...Tried to find info on it on the "interwebz" about 15 years ago which turned up nothing...??? I know Sears sold some odd items contracted out & rebadged.(Sears & Montgomery Wards catalog was our Amazon to us "Boomers"...LOL!)...Have to do a bit more research...All I found on Sears motorcycle search (15 years ago) was rebadged Sachs & Puch...??? You or anyone know of Sears rebadging Bridgestone...??? IIRC it was not a unit twin so MAYBE transmission was Bridgestone & engine was ???
I think his name was Jack penton and raced in the 70s and any ktm sold east of the Mississippi was branded penton as I believe he was from maine...all other west of the old miss were just ktm...
@@shelby.daytona6890 Updated research = Ran across a website for "allstate-riders" with quite a few photos of Sears & Allstate branded motorcycles Puch,Gilera also a section on Sears rebadged Cushmans .(I would post a link but not my channel to do so)...Pretty sure this was a Puch mfg. 175 or 250 twin(going on memory from around 50 years ago) I saw the motorcycle mostly viewed the right side where it sat...Remembered talking to guy that had it a few times WAY back when...With that LONG drive chain case on right it made me think it was not a unit twin & recall the body work & tub rear fender on the Puch ...Thinking about that era & difficult to get parts locally for certain models..(especially the oddball brands) Plenty of motorcycles were cobbled up to keep them going back then.(Just like "Barf Party"!...LOL!) .. I came up with the theory of possible donor part from a Bridgestone that had a metal mfg tag on it...??? Just a weird old motorcycle I remembered being curious about...

Some great old bikes there Mate. Reminds me of my old Suzuki A 100. Take care and greetings from South Australia.
