I personally love that they always leave room for their lyrics to have many possible interpretations. I think their songcrafting has elevated yet again on this release. One of the hallmarks of advanced mastery of a craft (any craft) is a tendency toward elegance, and "less is more". In my opinion, the longer you work at something the more you stray toward the minimalist view of perfection, where perfection is achieved when you can't take anything else away :) I also applaud what seems to be a shift toward crafting music that they'll have *fun* playing live. I suspect they had a ton of fun crafting the songs on Keep Me Fed. It shines through on every one so far.
You missed a couple of the easter eggs in the video.( No worries most people do). Look at the names in the first shot of the Warning as judges. Ale is Ale Bullwell ( Simon Cowell ) , Pau Is Paula Villarreal ( Paula Abdul) and Dany is Dany Jackson ( Randy Jackson ) . This is a spoof on American Ideal. This scene where Pau climbs onto the table was taken from a incident on A I where Paula Abdul got into a shouting match with a contestant and started to climb over the table to get to them. She was restrained by her fellow judges. Even the Burnout logo is similar to the American Ideal logo. Also the the whole setup and look of the stage that the winners performed on is based on the Rock Band video game the lady's grew up playing. Even the they seem to have improved line.
So many Easter Eggs in the video courtesy of their fans. The narwhal was Dany’s costume for Halloween while they were recording the Error album in NJ. Some of the fans were very nuanced in their costumes, some not so much…lol. Lots of QMQ and Las Wawas nods but one I thought was original was the “Pau” with the background scene art from S!CK (pink/white hearts) attached to her back.
@@psychologyofrock I'm sure they have seen your channel by now. I'd bet they'd be glad to come on your channel for an interview. Hectic and exhausting is the life they've chosen. Much to the surprise of most, there is little that is glamorous when the house lights come up and the crew starts striking the stage. It's not an easy job or life.
Great synopsis. Love all the clips and images. The video is actually made by fans for fans. Watchers unfamiliar with TW, miss all the meaning behind 10 years of history. It's nice that they target their fans with this video and not necessarily the broader public. I think they know they're going to get where they want to go and aren't in a hurry to get there. It's all about fun now and I'm loving where they're going....:)
In the video. During the American Idol parody. Pau was Paula Abdul. Pau & that casting actor was recreating an incident that happened on American Idol where an contestant pissed off Paula Abdul (she was drinking at that time) that she climbed the table to go after the person. So that's not about Pau. According to one of the casting fan during her Burnout video reaction (she was the finalist for Pau). Dany, Pau & Ale was not at the casting shoot. The girls was in LA.
Great analysis. My favorite part is Pau, climbing over the table to kick some but! You got to listen to the live version of this song from the Japan shows, it's owsome Pau ads a second snare drum to her kit to give the song that special deeper sound.
Fantastic analysis as always! I can’t wait for the full album. I think they saved some true gems for the album release. They’ve been teasing ‘Six Feet Deep’ a lot and in their Dany/Pau/Ale day instagrams have mentioned some of their favorite songs, often among those still unreleased🤘. I’ve decided I’m going to be very ‘Satisfied’ with ‘Escapism’… even if it puts me ‘Six Feet Deep’ I won’t ’Apologize’… unless Pau demands that I do & sends ‘Sharks’ to ‘Consume’ me! 🤣
Ooooh, aren't you the clever one?🤣 Since I'm not on their Patreon anymore, and I rarely check IG (since the desktop version sucks!), I haven't really gotten much inside info. I actually did pre-order the CD and a new T-shirt, so I'll be looking forward to hearing the rest of the new songs.😍👍👍
I was truly impressed by the nod back to Rock Band. The video game was, after all, the catalyst that launched their career as a band and Harmonix has included 2 of The Warning's songs on various editions of the game. It was very, very cool to see DPA acknowledge this in such a fun way!
Great video breakdown/analysis Nena! A couple other Easter eggs I noticed: 1 - Ale` playing bass on her back... like the 1st song the 1st time they opened for MUSE in their hometown Monterrey, Mexico. 2 - When the stand-ins were on stage and the CGI fans... a throwback to the video game ROCK BAND; which was the spark that inspired them to play Rock music and eventually form a band. 🗣 When are you finally going to get to see them LIVE? 👋☺️
Great analysis!. Didn't like Burnout at first but I absolutely love it now. Very imaginative song with interwoven melodic concepts!, the influence of their training in classical music from early age is ever present!. ⚡⚡⚡
When I saw the video to "More" my first association was "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" - only The Warning style. The trend continues with videos to "S!CK", "Que Mas Quieres" and "Burnout" - you can see the entire team had a blast coming up with ideas and realizing them. Maybe "fun" is the key to avoid actual burnout despite hectic touring and promotional schedule? Another band, that included every participating fan, was Sabaton - in video to Motorhead's "1916" - the end credits list entire Birmingham Metal Army.
From a mental health standpoint - YES!!!! It is a huge protective factor. Their touring schedule is brutal right now, and fun helps keep life in balance and makes it all seem worth it. They are wise beyond their years!

At the start of the year when the band putout their schedule, and knowing the traction they got from their MTV appearance in 2023, I had a feeling this was going to be their year!! So far, halfway thru, it is coming true! Now with Jimmy Kimmel Live, the album, Wacken(we know they will conquer there), and all the festivals to go, they will be headlining next year!!!👏😊⚡️

Great analysis here of Burnout. I liked the song from the start, though I wasn’t sure how well the produced sound was going to translate live, especially the low register, processed voice singing “you’re such a burnout”. The Osaka fan cam video of the song really belayed my fears completely when I heard this great live performance. I agree that they have paid homage to the fans in such a creative and heartfelt way in the music video. It must have been a blast at the shoot.

I know that they’re always looking for a new direction and so far have definitely succeeded, I think that this album is going to be the turning point in their career, it’s more accessible to a wider audience and still has tracks to satisfy the “old school rockers”.
