You think the video is cool? If you ever hear this in person, the vid doesn't do it justice. I heard this for myself today and it's really incredible to hear yourself from across the city
I work in a building quite close to the waterfront in Seattle and I always watch the Discovery Princess leave for Alaska... well today, I sat in a window seat and heard the Love Boat horn for the first time! I'm delighted! It's amazing!!
I can't help wondering just how they are able to get the different tones from their horns. I'm not familiar with the process. But, I can imagine it's something to behold when you see these ships and hear some of their majesty. I've only been on one cruise in my life. The ship I went on was, at the time, the largest ship afloat. It was the Carnival Destiny ship. I had a wonderful time, then. And, I wish I could afford to go on another cruise. If I ever could, I'd prob choose to go on a Princess Line Cruise. I know it's nothing like real life, but, I have always enjoyed watching The Love Boat - reruns and all. 🥰💓😻
@@SatNavDan not when you live right next to the water and hear it 4 times a day 😂😂😂 - jokes aside, I’m not actually that phased by it, it’s quite a cool marketing technique used most famously by Disney cruise line (I think they do it better). Just frustrating they hit the horn button like a kid smacking a bop it
princess play the theme from the love boat because it was there ship in the 70s show the pacific princess] the cabins where sets but out side was filmed on the boat
Interesting, but they can't hold a candle to the calliope on the old Delta Queen. When I was Third Officer of the old Robert Toombs in 1978, we pulled into our berth in New Orleans after a really rough Atlantic crossing where we lost our radar antenna to a sirocco and were hit by a rogue wave two days out of the Straits of Gibraltar that stove in a bunch of cargo containers at No. 1 Hatch, scrubbed off a lot of paint on the bows, and twisted our foc'sl ladders like pipe cleaners. Delta Queen was idling in the basin waiting for her berth to open up, and called us on the radio to see what had happened to us. We told them, and as a mark of respect Delta Queen played us into our berth with a 20 minute calliope concert.
Aw.....they love eachother
So cute for both sister ships to hail each other! Well done!
3 years ago i went on the regal princess and in a week ill be going on the Sky Princess
God willing, we'll be on the Sky in 8 days. Can't wait!

Beautiful
This sound is the bane of my existence.
You and me both!
Best noise a cruise ship's ever made.

Cool vid! Heard this on the Enchanted Princess in Ft Lauderdale in March 22. Nice touch to get peeps in the party mood!
That is a feature I like about them. I wonder if it's played by the captain playing a keyboard on the bridge
It is a single button and the tune is pre-programmed.
@AndreiTupolev It’s not. It’s just the ships horn!
🤦♀️😵💫🤦♀️
It’s a button that plays the air horns one after another at different tunes, this also goes for the Disney magic class ships.
Must be new as I was on a Princess in 09 ,they ever had it back then

They’re calling to me!!😂
I'd hate to be living near there, while working nights!
@Trin Jefferson no horns at night
@@richarddennis3793 but imagine trying to sleep during the day.
The ship only plays that when leaving port
Nice video shipspotting
Too bad Princess doesn't play the rest of that song line. It always seems half finished.
It’s the ships horn, not a karaoke bar! It plays plenty enough.
It's their signature horn, not a karaoke
Nice horn
Please anther ship video's
