I’ve always imagined that a fourth tier glue would get something like Faster Glue, maybe camo detection, but ultimately go to a Hot Glue Gun, which would just add damage when bloons get glued, then to napalm for a DOT effect and then a full in flamethrower for fast attack speed, while still keeping the napalm effect
@@FrostyTheCookie Middle path is in an interesting situation because making bloons take more damage is only part of its main effect, the other is simply that it can glue a lot more bloons than any other glue gunner (besides Bloon-Solver). You're right that a fourth-path glue doesn't have a lot of place in the modern meta, though, since pretty much anything else you could imagine a glue gunner doing is already covered. One idea I considered was to add "explosive glue", which makes it so that if a glued bloon gets popped, it creates an explosion that also pops nearby bloons, and in later upgrades may also glue them as well, allowing a single glue shot to theoretically glue infinite bloons. Even then, relentless glue kind of already does that! Oh the world we live in.

I think a great 4th path for the ninja would be a poison path. I think it should deal damage over time in a fashion similar to psy in that it doesn’t pop the moon immediately but kills it all at once when it deals enough damage. I think an upgrade could make it so that the more damaged bloons become the slower they go down to 70% - 50% of base speed (bads and bosses excluded obviously). I think another upgrade could be that poisoned bloons could pass poison onto other bloons they come into contact with (with balanced pierce and tick speed for passing it on). I think the fifth tier could be a significant upgrade to the base aspects of the tower: much worse poison (in terms of DPS, spreading ability and maybe even greater slowdown), faster attack speed, more pierce and maybe even more projectiles so it can poison more bloons at once. Alternativly, it could be an ability where the ninja drops a large poison smoke bomb that deals high DPS and slows down inside the cloud while also applying poison to all bloons that pass through the cloud. Besides Azili’s Moab hex there really isn’t a tower like this at all and I think it would be really cool.
Ooo, Fahrenheit 451 is neat, it's a future dystopia kinda book where everything is fireproof but reading is illegal so firefighters jobs are now to go actually start fires to burn houses with books in them. It follows the story of one of the firefighters having an existential crisis and stuff. Probably the best book we were forced to read for english.

These are definitely fun concepts for the towers, though I agree that the flamethrower does not resemble the glue gunner anymore. If anything I feel like it would be a more valid upgrade for the dartling gun. The samurai path is pretty good for the ninja though. You could argue that it infringes upon Sauda's niche, but I don't think that that is much of a problem, in the same way that you could argue that bomb towers are infringing on Striker Jones' domain. I feel like it might have the very slight niche of a tower that's used to very precisely remove a single layer from late game enemies, allowing towers which struggle against, say, DDT's or very tanky ZOMG's to clean up the insides that they're better at. Power-wise, they'd have to be scaled down, and probably price-wise as well. Anything 100+k feels like it's only really achievable in showcase runs, where the run inevitably becomes only about that tower. At least personally, I find it more enjoyable when several towers are working in tandem, which is why I was excited about a glue gunner expansion and slightly disappointed that it just turned it into a one-monkey army. Still though, I think it's a fun concept, and a decently designed tower, just not for that particular base tower and maybe not for that level of power.
