im just sure if j-lo actually was his mother he would still think about smashing it and if he got her pregnant he wouldn't care he would just lie and pretend its his brother .. dont know for sure though just think slim shady would lie like that as he is brutal
This was actually before his drug addiction. When he first started out he thought he had to say all of these wild and ridiculous things to get attention. The story about Slim Shady is that they had the idea in the group about alter egos and he actually came up with Slim Shady while sitting on the toilet. This song came out in 2000, his drug addiction started on the set of 8 Mile in 2001. He admitted with dealing with his addiction and everything he didn’t even know Christopher Reeves died until October 2009, five years after his death.
I think you forget he once said in an interview he wants to be that person when you hear him you pause and say wtf did he just say. I commend him because he still does it to this day.
@@MrKnowledge0014 I remember that. That has nothing to do with my comment though. I just clarified this video was before his addiction, he came up with Slim Shady on the toilet, and that he didn’t know Christopher Reeves died until 2009.
@@jonathanliston7654 He started taking sleeping pills in 2001 on the set of 8 Mile because between filming, contributing to the writing process, writing and recording music, and executive producing the soundtrack himself he was only getting about two hours of sleep a day. That is definitely when his addiction started. By the end of filming in late 2001 to early 2002 he became dependent on them to sleep and before 2003 even hit he was on way stronger stuff. It really started spiraling out of control in 2004, then Proof died in 2006 and he just basically lost himself in it until his overdose in December 2007 where he went into a coma and almost died. He went through recovery in the hospital and into rehab in 2008 where he wrote pretty much the entirety of Relapse and Relapse 2.
@@Kno_Buddy he mentions in his XXL smuggling drugs from Tijuana, and one time he thought he was gonna get caught and that if he had gone to jail his career would have never happened and Slim Shady LP wouldn't have released Also, the Christopher Reeves thing was about his shots at him on Relapse, which, as you said, worked on while he was in rehab, so he had been quite isolated from the outside and it wasn't until after he was done with it that he learned he died because when it happened Em was already pretty fucked but successfully downplaying his addiction in public (according to the same interview)
6:55 ha he tapped out. Also, just for holy shite context MMLP was released nearly 1 year and 1 month to the day Columbine happened. The cajones , that's why MMLP has been my favorite album since 2000
Here only for the reaction to the jLo line lol. Hahaha I love seeing people hear that line for the first time. I remember being 10 years old when me and my friends were listening to this album and that blew our minds.
Please react to My Darling by Eminem its on his Relapse album! Deals with his past drug problems and battling his demons it would fit well on this channel!
I don’t know how the Christopher Reeves thing started but I do know that if he said something that got people upset he would most likely double down on it 😂 It’s possible he used it just because it rhymed with something .
Replying after a year but still explaining in case you read and get at ease Christopher Reeves situation started when he got in that 🐎 accident Eminem though it was funny watching superman break his legs and sit on a chair.
As offensive as the content was, the look when Tom took off his headphones wasn't one of disgust, but rather awe at how such a talented artist could and would be saying something so shocking -- which is definitely totally on brand for Slim shady as one of the three personas of Marshall Mathers/Eminem/Slim Shady
This was amazing! You have to get the full EMINEM ride from the start! LOL I also happen to think that EM is on the spectrum (which he has mentioned aspergers (SP?) in a few songs) and that is why I think he fixates on certain things.
eminem is a comedian/rapper .. comedians do the shock value thing, he does it in his lyrics lol. come on. who didnt laugh at this track? comedians are way more graphic and absurd doesnt mean they autistic
Well…. I use to listen to Em soooo much back in high school. I know this was played in my car! Listening now as a 40yr old🥴😵🤦🏻♀️🫠😆. I was definitely an era 🤷🏻♀️🤣
The late 90's early 2000's was a time of pushing boundaries saying fuck you to what society says is acceptable and ok to say .we wanted to say what the fuck we wanted to and nobody gave a shit. I wrote swear words to make a point it's totally not ok anymore people are going to be offended by they swear words even pissed off but that's how it was
You need to react to 3hree6ix5ive OldworlDisorder. When the line in Stan when he says “I even got the underground shit you did with skam” that’s the track he’s on about. I think it’s one of his best verses he’s done personally
The main thing I learned from this song is he REALLY likes J-Lo
who doesnt. She so fine Then and now
I don’t think everyone was thinking “if she was my mom, I’d smash it”
@@jaseshade6512That's to get a reaction from people. It's clear as day 💀

Eminem before 2004 was not Eminem
He was *Slim Shady*

He was defiantly doing drugs then but he wasn't addicted until like 2004-2005

I know you don't really do request from the comments but I'm waiting for you to do My Fault. Your expressions are priceless on an old school Em track!
And he has been sober for 15 years, which is awesome.
Eminem taught me a lesson growing up u can be rock bottom say F it and bounce bk in the face of the doubters

This song and "Saying Goodbye to Hollywood" are sadly underrated.
Slim Shady has always been an absolute menace and it never gets old lol
Classic Slim Shady 💯.. 💐 💐 To the Greatest 👑🐐. Respect. 🤘🏻.
Em said some people want the old Eminem back. He said this works nowadays couldn't handle that Eminem

react to in your head by Eminem, it kinda highlights how he didn’t like the person he was portraying to be and how he regrets it
Idk that really wasn’t much of a reaction… I thought you’d offer more insight than that…
you better stop reacting to slim shady's alter ego or else you'd need psychotherapist too
Eminem.
