The last 2 I've done of these required me to re-use the CSC pipework as the supplied pipes from LUK were a different angle, I simply swapped the new "o" rings over onto the old pipework... Also I'm still in two minds on if moving the radiator or the subframe gives additional clearance ( i don't lift the boxes in like you 🙂)...Ive also ditched my pressure bleeder for these jobs as I found it actually made bleeding worse...good Vid!
bought a Vauxhall vivaro 08 about 3 months ago to convert into a campervan.so I got this van and it was basically setup campervan wise in the back with switchboard for electricity and leisure battery etc plus it was insulated aswel and had a carpet finish I thought I was onto good ting here the van was absolutely spotless regarding it's body work but of course their are hiding gremlins as per usual.so heading to my mam one day the lights start flashing on the dashboard stop stop 🛑 .went to garage I was told the injectors were knackered.got two new injectors same ting happened.he then told me tht the injectors were seized in the head the other two injectors?I said why didn't you tell me tht at the start ? no answer .anyways it was cost to much money to get new injectors and for him to take seized injectors out.got reconditioned engine with four new injectors it worked out cheaper.light still came on after installing new reconditioned engine.so I went back to my garden took out the air intake box and also took off the cover tht was covering the injectors and low and behold one of the injectors was pissing diesel out of it .he basically took old injector out of my old engine without o ring and put into new engine.so I said this to him and he just said no no no leak 😂😂😂 but what he didn't no was I took serial numbers of both injectors he took out of old engine and wrote them down.so he showed me injector and Said this is your problem.i looked at him and said thts the old injector from old engine he said no no no it's not .I then showed him the number off the injector and he then said ahhh must be different injector with same serial number 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 absolute cowboy caught by the balls .as I was saying regarding yourself.you can see you love your job and you don't try and take advantage of people.keep the good work up pal.my van is now in getting a reconditioned gearbox from a new mechanic thankgod .she will be like a new van after everything I've done to her🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’ve worked on heavy and light commercial vehicles as well as cars in workshops and the open air workshop for over 30 years before arthritis took hold. You make one of the longest jobs you can do appear very straightforward. Well done to you, there is some real skills at use here from your knowledge of so many different vehicle types to the methodical way you work. I always used to use white grease on the bell housing bolt holes, dowels and end of the shaft, is there any reason you use rubber grease? Again well done!
Thanks for the great review. Very much appreciated.., especially from someone that’s done it. .., Red rubber grease stops any oxidisation of the threads .., which is often the case on new alloys. You get the white powdered rust. And for the spline. It will eliminate any clutch drag.., which is a big cause for premature wear on the friction plate. .., Again from powdered rust.
Hi Kevin , great work by a true master of his craft I looked up your video as i,m thinking of buying a vivaro but have read that the gearboxes can suffer from over preloaded bearings , so i thought to look at the difficulty in getting them off . I have done a synergie gearbox , previa gearbox and a partner gearbox in the past . The synergie was an engine out job , but the partner i just managed with it in sutu. i,m pleased to see that the Vivaro can be done without either engine removal or dropping the subframe . What make is the impact uj that you use ? standard ones wont take the stick . Also what fluid are you using to clean ? and can it be bought in bulk? . You are obviously a strong chap . I noticed that the video is 1 hr 18 min long but it doesn't show all the jumping up and down and crawling in and out which in my experience is by far the most tiring aspect of these jobs , your very fit . i,m 66 now and dont relish having to do this sort of thing anymore , but as ive never paid a garage in my life , i dare say that if the need arose , your excellent video will cause me to break out the spanners again . Thank you so much for your inspiration and may you remain well enough to continue for years . RWD cars where a doddle in comparison . regards
I decided to attempt my daughter's van after watching your vidio, I changed the full clutch as you did, it went fine but wouldn't have tried without watching yours first. Her van has developed a slight ticking which disappears when you press the clutch I just hope I don't have to strip it down again, any thought would be appreciated, again than you.
Hi Peter ., that’s great to hear you managed that repair with the help of the video. ✨🍻🍻✨.,, sometimes you’ll get a little noise ., if it’s not affecting the drive and clutch system it’ll go away on its own.

Just watched the whole video.... and I'm "no mechanic" - I feel good cause I just sprayed wd40 on my gear cables (Vivaro 2011 sportive diesel as in this video) as the gearstick was stiff going into gear.. it worked, although I guess temporary
Top work indeed. No one can accuse you of being lazy! I changed the clutch in my 2005 Mini Cooper this summer and it took me 6 weeks! I notice you didn't put any grease on the release bearing. Is that intentional? Plus is it good or bad practice to put threadlock on the pressure plate bolts? Like you I didn't bother - does anyone? Keep up the good work!

a lot easier, but it still took me all day. Last clutch i changed was on a mini cooper back in the 80's :D Thanks again
Martin thanks for a detailed review ..,,
I suppose it’s taken me hours and hours of continuously beating on my craft to get to this stage ...,, it’s hard work but it’s what I do every single day ..,, I work alone and travel far.., up to two hours drive one way ..,,
I prepare myself always physically..
Good vitamins and minerals and essential oil. a healthy diet and plenty of rest ..,, especially come winter time .,,, I really appreciate the time you’ve taken to share on our forum.
Thanks to your vid I got one done no frame down and no issues thanks for sharing
Thanks for the feedback
My Father has a 61 Ford Tourneo as a Taxi. For once, this job makes ford designers look clever
👍🏽 c est un gros travail, bravo warrior clutches 👏
Merci bient sudine...😊
you are the ninja clutch master 👍👍👍👍👍
Hats off to you for doing such a big job outside on your back a lot of the time 👍
Man that looked a mission.. photographic memory or what 👏
Well done mate. Great job with great filming. Very professionally done. My salutes to you.
Thanks for the support and stay tuned for more videos coming up.
bought a Vauxhall vivaro 08 about 3 months ago to convert into a campervan.so I got this van and it was basically setup campervan wise in the back with switchboard for electricity and leisure battery etc plus it was insulated aswel and had a carpet finish I thought I was onto good ting here the van was absolutely spotless regarding it's body work but of course their are hiding gremlins as per usual.so heading to my mam one day the lights start flashing on the dashboard stop stop 🛑 .went to garage I was told the injectors were knackered.got two new injectors same ting happened.he then told me tht the injectors were seized in the head the other two injectors?I said why didn't you tell me tht at the start ? no answer .anyways it was cost to much money to get new injectors and for him to take seized injectors out.got reconditioned engine with four new injectors it worked out cheaper.light still came on after installing new reconditioned engine.so I went back to my garden took out the air intake box and also took off the cover tht was covering the injectors and low and behold one of the injectors was pissing diesel out of it .he basically took old injector out of my old engine without o ring and put into new engine.so I said this to him and he just said no no no leak 😂😂😂 but what he didn't no was I took serial numbers of both injectors he took out of old engine and wrote them down.so he showed me injector and Said this is your problem.i looked at him and said thts the old injector from old engine he said no no no it's not .I then showed him the number off the injector and he then said ahhh must be different injector with same serial number 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 absolute cowboy caught by the balls .as I was saying regarding yourself.you can see you love your job and you don't try and take advantage of people.keep the good work up pal.my van is now in getting a reconditioned gearbox from a new mechanic thankgod .she will be like a new van after everything I've done to her🤣🤣🤣🤣
Superb video as always dude!! I’m a HGV tech going on 10 years now. I’d love to see how quick you could do a truck clutch 😂 there isn’t as much in the way 😂
🤩🤩careful now I might be tempted to take you up on that offer 😂😂🤭..,
Thanks for the review tho. Much appreciated
Got 1 in work tomoz, always watch how you go about it first good video 👌
Hi Phill ., we share the same surname., and both mechanics 🧰😁.,, how did you get on with the one you did.
@@WMCS
Haha i know awesome! Went really well i knew were all the bolts were after watching your video thanks😅👌 was in for a recon gearbox still fit new clutch kit tho . Told my mate in work if he knows hes got a clutch to do to watch you the king of clutches 👍👌
Thank you so much for the step by step video. Just removed my Van's GB .
not many machanics like you around.love your work.
Complimenti per il mestiere che conosco bene anchii ne ho fatte tante di frizioni a quel modo e conosco la fatica fisica di tirare giu un cambio senza sollevatore
👍👍💪
Good work..... respect....... my best recommendation is to use a good facemask, specially for the clutch material (asbestos)
Thanks for the great feedback and support. Really appreciate it.
A face mask is very important for the dust. The clutch we have here doesn’t contain asbestos. But nonetheless the dust isn’t good for the lungs.
What a beasty of a job! I would have been happier seeing some new CV boots go on there whilst the driveshafts were off?
Thanks for the review. Customer only wanted a clutch and nothing but a clutch. No love making. No wife swap. No chin wagging. 😉
If it didnt come in for it then you dont do it... you get no thanks for it apart from moaned at when bills higher....do the job in hand and advise further repairs on invoice 😉
Well done mate very good video saved me a lot of time !
Amazing guide. Such good camera angles. Cheers mate!
Thanks Chris 🍻🍻🍻
Chilled me out watching this, cheers pal 😀
Damn that was a lot of disassembling, great job .
It wasn’t too bad. But yes a few things to come out.
Kevin-Albert Williams do you film every time you do a clutch replacement?
Really good video pal! You literally made it look easy as antrhubf when Jesus that box is bloody heavy!
It’s a heavy box indeed 🎄🍻😆
I’ve worked on heavy and light commercial vehicles as well as cars in workshops and the open air workshop for over 30 years before arthritis took hold. You make one of the longest jobs you can do appear very straightforward. Well done to you, there is some real skills at use here from your knowledge of so many different vehicle types to the methodical way you work. I always used to use white grease on the bell housing bolt holes, dowels and end of the shaft, is there any reason you use rubber grease? Again well done!
Thanks for the great review. Very much appreciated.., especially from someone that’s done it. ..,
Red rubber grease stops any oxidisation of the threads .., which is often the case on new alloys. You get the white powdered rust.
And for the spline. It will eliminate any clutch drag.., which is a big cause for premature wear on the friction plate. ..,
Again from powdered rust.
✨🍻🍻✨.,, sometimes you’ll get a little noise ., if it’s not affecting the drive and clutch system it’ll go away on its own.
lifting that change is not for everyone...compliments!
Video starting with the sound of a Stihl Saw filled me with confidence
Scott glad you appreciated the special effects in the background. Took a lot of effort to organise that 😁
Kevin-Albert Williams 😂
Amazing video from start to finish, thank you for your efforts
This bloke is worth his weight in gold. Apart from the split gaiters.
Very useful tutorial. Thanks.
Thanks for this video it's a great help to me, mind I'm changing my engine as well, it's a hard slog, I'm 69year old man, 10years ago no problems but today it's took me almost 3weeks😂🤣😅🤣🤣😂🤣 good job I'm retired, anyway thank you 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hope you managed it alright.
I've done loads of vivaro clutches and I take the subframe off. I didn't know you could get the 'box in and out with the subframe on and it looked easy. Bloody heavy gearboxes they are too. I wouldn't do one on my back though.
They are definitely heavy. I’d say about 60-70kg. Great to have a review from a fellow mechanic. 🍻🍻
@@WMCS This answers a question I've been wondering about. That's a fair bit to handline like that. I'll get my son to help me :)
Just watched the whole video.... and I'm "no mechanic" - I feel good cause I just sprayed wd40 on my gear cables (Vivaro 2011 sportive diesel as in this video) as the gearstick was stiff going into gear.. it worked, although I guess temporary
The PTFE WD-40 stuff will last longer
@@FatherJack-b1u So far so good.. 11 months on and no issues.. will see how winter goes but its held out so far
You are the best mechanic I've ever seen your a true craftsman im going to be doing my gearbox soon on my Vauxhall vivaro 58 plate full clutch kit can i ask
Sometimes AP but usually LUK
@@WMCS What the red stuff he put on the splice
please thank you
@@WMCS thank you Kevin for your advice im putting a LUK clutch kit on my vivaro this week but the clutch kit comes with the csc i don't have the right angel little tub that fits on the end i have a complete tub with the right angle molded in i guess they do that to stop leaks
Great video pal
Doing mine tomorrow morning hopefully it will be bit easier with your video . Thanks
Milwaukee 1850 cant beat em best impact guns ever designed i love the rachets to
Très beaux travailles merci de ta vidéo
You make that look easier than it is.. Some amount of work... It can never be said you dont work for a living..
😆🤩.., thanks for the feedback..., really appreciate the support.
Keep up the incredible work mate
Thanks for the feedback William.
Another wonderful video as usual,.. Hats off!!
Thank you for the video! It helped me so much. 💪🏼
Thank You very much,
best video by far on this task on youtube I found.
You did not drop the front axle from the body as advised in oem repair manual ?

Спасибо за видео, очень помогло при замене сцепления. У нас за такую работу берут 100$ Привет с Украины.
Epic work top job just wondering why the customer did not change the split boot when you had it off would have made sense.
He went down to his local garage for that.
Very good video, didn't notice much use of a torque wrench.
*Bravo maestro!* Cheers from Serbia
Hello to you in 🇷🇸 Serbia ..,
My 2013 Renault Trafic clutch has started slipping. What cost should I expect to get it replaced? Great work
Roughly about £609
You have a good memory, i would have loads of spare bits . Lol
I'm about to do this job and remembering where everything goes is my main worry. That and dropping the gearbox on my face.
Kevin I brilliant he's the clutch ninja 👌👍👏👊
Great video man. Hard graft on the ground. I know what it's like!
Thanks for the support. I take it you’ve done one or two on deck.
@@WMCS yep! Done a fair share haha.
