    When I gave birth, my baby refused to nurse the entire time we were at the hospital, but the nurses kept saying she didn't need to eat because her blood sugar was fine. This lasted for 3 days! Hospitals need to be held more accountable for their mistakes/neglect.

      I looked into this the lawyer told me unless another doctor would say specifically that the other doctor neglected the patient then chances were slim to none of winning, the lawyer actually advised me to go out of state because doctors in my area were all on the same payroll basically (when a doctor gives you a referral for another doctor the entire hospital is basically unreliable and won't testify). Doctors have it made basically untouchable because they all have each others backs... Even if they are at fault...

      This is so despicable but unfortunately absolutely true I'm so many cases. I wouldn't necessarily go out of state but I know from personal experience I had to go outside my county in order to find a second opinion from a doctor and a lawyer that would take my case. I'm sorry you had to go through that and I hope and pray things are better for you now. I hate it that these doctors wanna play God with peoples.lives but when they are wrong they play innocent if something goes good they want all the praises and all the glory and worship but when they make a mistake or lose a patient because they messed up misdiagnosed or were negligent they take no responsibility or what little they do take is eaten up by other attorneys fees..

    My youngest son wasn't gaining weight the way I felt he should. Come to find out, he was severely tongue-tied. He had to go to a pediatric plastic surgeon to have it remedied. As soon as the procedure was complete, he started to gain weight and thrive. He's now in his 30's. Love all my children.

    • @floridagirl386

      What exactly is tongue tied?

    • @susankoehler2883
      @susankoehler2883 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      When you raise your tongue, that piece of skin that holds it to the bottom of your mouth grew the whole length of his tongue and a little over the tip. He couldn't get suction on me or a bottle to get the milk out. Plus, he had the same problem as me. He was allergic to milk,lactades, and soy milk. Once they cut and coterized the skin under his tongue, he had the ability to suckle correctly. I ended up putting him on diluted goats milk.

    • @Iamzakusgirl
      @Iamzakusgirl 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm just curious, does that mean he was also allergic to your milk? If you breastfed, that is. As someone lactose intolerant but who was bottle-fed (my mother is not intolerant but calcium deficiency made her unable to produce enough), I'm very curious.

    • @susankoehler2883
      @susankoehler2883 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Iamzakusgirl I actually was able to breastfeed but dried up since he couldn't nurse correctly. I'm allergic to milk, ice cream, and chocolate but can eat yogurt, cottage cheese, and cheese. These are what helped me to produce milk for all my children. My youngest son was the only child who was the same as me. The goat's milk helped him to be able to drink whole milk after 2&1/2 years. Unfortunately, he, in his 30s, is becoming sensitive to it again. I'm still allergic and always will be.

      They were not fired. As a matter a fact, nothing was done. Because we ran out of time… they will keep killing babies and getting them to point my son was and go on without a scratch. Why? Because medical professionals are damn near untouchable. This was Lewis county, clinic name was chehalis children’s clinic, 2 hospitals involved with criminalizing me and my husband plus taking our youngest child is Joyce Gilbert who works at St. Peter’s hospital in thurston county and then the other hospital is centralia providence hospital and he seen a few different drs there. This story was both heartbreaking and infuriating. We’ve been fooled before, thinking someone was innocent and it turns out they were guilty. But with this story, I had a feeling they were telling the truth. We’ve also seen em pass, but still be negligent. However in this case, the fact that the HOSPITALS & DOCTORS didn’t listen/take her seriously.. everything that happened (and lack thereof) prior to finally getting a diagnosis & getting someone to truly listen.. was so devastating. It’s one thing for the justice system to be f’d up, but when it’s hospitals and doctors, that’s equally as (if not more) f’d up. I understand protecting children & taking action, but the fact that they didn’t even TRY to help this woman & her child.. that they immediately were so quick/ready to take the child away and deem her unfit. Doctors & hospitals like that need their license revoked. I’m so glad they passed. I’m not going to judge them on how many children they have, because at the end of the day it’s not about that… yes they struggled, but the only thing that matters is they/their son were failed repeatedly by numerous people. The only ones responsible for almost costing this child his life, are the negligent docs & hospitals.

      Our healthcare system is trash to begin with, even with good insurance that cost and arm and a leg. But things become so much worse when race is factored in. It's not touched on in this show but for non white people the chances of having a negative experience with our healthcare system skyrocket. And if you factor in both race and gender, the chances of a woman not being believed go up even more. It's a deeply systemic and historical issue that most people barely know about because no one talks about it.

Hes lactose intolerant like his older sister and still is to this day and hes going to be 3 this year. His sister grew out of it but he didnt. Sometimes doctor's wont listen and think they know more about your child than you do. My son is my 5th child so i knew it wasnt normal.

And I knew something was wrong he went from 6 lb 1 oz to 4 lb before we even left the hospital. His lips and eyes were turning blue I told the nurses listen there's something wrong with my son. Can you please help us cuz I don't know what's going on.
    They told me I was overreacting there was nothing wrong with my son. I had gotten a c-section had to stay in the hospital for 3 days. 20 minutes before we left the hospital after voicing my concerns yet again my son started seizing he had a 26-minute long seizure they created brain damage.
    We were medivact to children's hospital from the birthing hospital. Now my son is special needs all due to the fact that these nurses and these doctors would not listen to me they would not check turns out, that they never checked his sugar levels the whole time we were in the hospital but the time he started seizing right before we went to children's hospital his sugar levels were six.. just six . There's more to the story and it was all a horrible experience. But now my son is left damage and I am left feeling guilty.. and ashamed, that I could not get the doctors to listen to what I said. I will forever feel like I failed my son even though I tried. He is a wonderful boy and he is here with us today but he has seizures for the rest of his life Due To medical neglect.. of the doctors and nurses. They told us to come back in 30 days (keep in mind that he was receiving feeding therapy we had been trying to get this addressed for a WHILE by then), and then when he came back to the follow up, he was underweight, and she immediately changed her mind and told us to immediately begin supplementing again.
    He was 2 at that point, he is 6 now and is JUST beginning to eat solid foods, despite seeing 14 specialists and multiple therapists including feeding therapy, nutritionist, GI, and developmental pediatrics. Unfortunately pediatricians can be great at something’s, but not at speciality things, and sometimes you get doctors who don’t like to acknowledge that problems are out of their area of expertise, so they minimize the problem.

      @@Unicornslive lol yeah I typed nanas so not sure why it changed it. I know that it might not be recommended but my mum was fed carnation milk as a baby too. She was adopted and was unwell with normal formula so she had carnation milk and thrived. As a midwife I can tell you that we recommend skin to skin for almost everything as it’s very beneficial and not just for bonding. Studies have shown that if a baby is cold then the mother’s core temperature will actually increase to warm the baby and if the baby is too hot, then mums temperature will actually reduce to cool the baby. I had a very colicky baby with my second and I used to have to massage his tummy and bath him a lot to help him. Even though co sleeping isn’t supposed to be advised, it actually can be beneficial as long as neither parent drink, smoke or take any medication that may make them sleepy and as long as neither are over tired. Obviously shouldn’t use loose covers or have a very hot room. There are some studies to show that co sleeping mums are more in tune with their babies breathing etc and are more responsive to them in the night - especially for breastfed babies. Apart from the carnation milk then all the advice actually sounds pretty good.

    People starving their child don’t take him to the hospital EIGHT TIMES! Why the f**k did she plead guilty? Now it’s on her record forever. I think with a child the statute of limitations is 21 plus two years. I would seriously try to sue the hospital AND the medical staff for negligence. Nothing to lose. This would be a contingency case for the attorney.

      I tried …. We both did. It’s all about money here. You either have at least $5k for down payment or MORE which is what it is around here or you will lose. I couldn’t risk losing my kids knowing full well they placed fake documents in my dependency case against us … I plead guilty because I have 6 special needs children who I can’t risk going to foster care… nobody is as patient with my babies as I am. Autism , adhd and ODD is so hard for the little guys to manage and with someone who’s not patient I believe would harm my children. Jr was harmed in foster care , vindictive social worker hurt my baby when we fought them for Christmas and other holiday rights. They kept my baby away for many holidays … we already missed 2 years with him and so did his siblings (my little little one in the video) . I know I should not have plead guilty but there’s no choice when they are corrupt here and they had drs willing to lie for them. Their documents looked different then the print outs I had from after visit summaries … I have no idea how they did it but it’s happened multiple times and I was not willing to lose my kids fighting for what’s right…. I would have lost. They have more power.

    This is absolutely insane, it resonates with me soooo much! My son who is five now was born with a very rare birth defect where his esophagus was closed leading into his belly. It was so thin, like a piece of string. The hospital I had him at did not catch this. Me, my fiance, my mom/dad/sister had to rush my son, who was only three and a half pounds at the time (was born at 2 pounds 9 ounces) to the same hospital I had my son at three times before they sent us to children's hospital. The ER kept saying "it is the formula change." My son almost choked to death. We were at the children's hospital no more than an hour when they came back and told us what was really wrong. I am so thankful and grateful for those doctors/nurses/surgeons. We were at children's hospital for seven months while they stretched and dilated my son's esophagus. So this story REALLY hit home. ❤️😔 My son is healthy and happy now! That is all we ever wanted!!

    The midwives kept saying the same with my son too. Three days and only had 2 drops in a syringe. LITERALLY 2 drops and they said that was enough. When it got to day 4 one of the midwives came and said its up to me, but they'd recommend giving him a bottle. I gave him one and he drank fine, if I hadn't he'd have just starved. We mentioned he kept shaking but they said it's withdrawals from my medication and sent him home. Midwife saw him at home the next day and said she wasn't happy with the shaking and he wasn't eating properly even when she tried. He'd lost 8% body weight which is too much for a bottle baby. Went back in for a night and they tried to send us home again. Then all of a sudden they rushed in and rushed him to SCBU because of the results of his blood spot test. If it wasn't for one Romanian midwife LOSING IT because after we'd been there a while they'd medicated him and he wasn't better, then they wouldn't have listened and they admitted if they'd left it one more day he'd be dead. He was in organ failure and his heart was struggling because he was having 30+ seizures a day and his blood acid levels were doubling every 2 mins. He was in the high dependency unit for over a week being pumped full of meds, then in the SCBU for 3 months after that. That one midwife standing up against a doctor and a registrar was all it took to save his life. I owe her everything because NOBODY would listen to us when we said something wasn't right

    Ive had 3 of my children who were “failure to thrive” and were all premature. They put me through hell with my first one that wasn’t gaining the weight they liked. They tested for a million conditions and then said she had a heart condition etc. Then they said that I should top up with formula - i pointed out that there were more calories in breast milk and yet they said I had to. So I did what they said and she gained less weight. They made me wean her at 12 weeks and she gained less. I had to keep working hard to get my milk supply back up. She was having plenty of wet and dirty nappies, meeting all of her milestones and was completely healthy. She just was gaining 3oz per week instead of the 7oz they wanted. At 1 year old she wore 0-3 months clothes. They finally admitted that there was nothing wrong with her and she was just doing her own thing. She is still slim - she’s 17 years old and a size 4-6 (US 0-2). When they started on me with my next “failure to thrive” I just did my own thing. I absolutely agree that some babies dont gain in the way they want them to. THIS baby was NOT THAT!!! He was starving to death, his skin was loose, he wasn’t having wet nappies, and he looked unwell. My daughter wasn’t skinny - she was just not very big all over. Babies who are starved grow in length but not weight and they look like that baby. The very easy way to know if they did something wrong is to see if the baby suddenly starts gaining weight well once he is removed from the parents. If there is a medical condition causing it then the baby would continue to be unwell. I’ve not finished watching so I don’t know what the outcome is. Edit - I feel so awful for that poor couple. they were seeking medical advice and being given no help at all when anyone can look at that little boy and see that he is seriously ill. Whether that is a result of abuse or a medical condition is secondary at that point as he needed to be admitted to hospital. If he suddenly then gained weight then it’s the parents and if he didn’t then it would be necessary to find out what the issue is. How they can just fob someone off is crazy.

    She couldn't afford to go to a different doctor. That there is the problem with your healthcare system. In ireland, a day or 2 after you come home from hospital with the baby a nurse visits for a checkup. If baby has lost a couple of pounds they're brought to the hospital just to be sure all is fine. Then there are scheduled visits with your doctor after that. All free.

    Doctors need to be more careful. If a baby is not gaining weight properly and not feeding well, something is going on. You could clearly see that baby was not fine. For term babies it is normal to loose up to 10% of weight after birth, but they need to regain it in the next 2 days. If they do not, something is not working properly. They should have done all necessary medical check ups to the baby and if they find nothing, then maybe start investigating the parents. The parents went to the hospital several times, which indicates concern, and not neglect. Shame on the doctors and the nurses that did not help that baby sooner!
