- Good day.
I had the idea of transcribing one of the old dial up sounds in Famitracker.
Specifically, this audio: freesound.org/...
The video ' • Re-creating the classi... ' gave me the inspiration to make an expansion chip version, that sounds a bit more true, to the original, instead. I think, I did a pretty good job.
With all the fine tuning and timing, this took me ~6 hours to make.
Some info:
The audio was exported from NSFPlay, so it's not gonna match with the oscillosope view. Actually, the oscilloscope view is not gonna match up with the mini oscilloscope in Famitracker either, (since that was a Famitracker .wav export) unless the noise register is always the same, when starting the track.
Speaking of which, the 1st signal is 'FM Channel 1 to 4', the 2nd signal 'FM Channel 5 + 6', with them, representing the calling and recieving modem, respectively. I used the 'Noise' (signal 3) channel for higher accuracy of the recreation, which is a mix, of both modems, communicating and probing the line.
I think, that's pretty much it, for now. Have a great day.
this is truly what famitracker was invented for
some other guy recreated the dial-up sound, but i'm guessing this ones more accurate since the other guy used a square wave
@@Contateste105theguy Yes. Although, even though, they used the 2A03's squares, I think they didn't think too much of the timings and frequencies. It probably was a fun little project.
