@@fabparks there are pleny of "attractions" for young kids also, the park itself is great to spend some time in. Again, if you go only for roallercoaster you gonna be disappointed.
i think its a little overhyped because its uberly a lot of fun for dutch people seeing there stereotype in a fantasy type setting. Its like a US themed main street in a US located park but then the entire park. And a lot of fairytales are from all across the lowlands so dutch people know the stories behind stuff by just looking at it. And there is no theme park around with a simular concept maybe Disney paris but that are diffrent more known fairytales and it feels more corperate. I been in the Efteling a few times its waaaaay to bussy for her own good its really fun when its raining and you only have to wait 15min to get on a ride. Also the Netherlands lost a lot of her steriotypical clog wearing identity since the last 50/100 years so maybe dutch people love the efteling out of nostalgia. In 1950 or someting the Netherlands was known to be a scandinavian country because it also shared a lot of history with denmark and sweden . But these influence got lost because the netherlands is also a founding member of the EU and slowly got influenced by germany, french and the surounding fellow EU member states. So thats why i think dutch people overhype the Efteling the theme is recognizable but also somewhat of a brake of modern day life.
I have seen good and bad ones tbh. Tokyo disney sea is another level, as any universal and disney in the US. But based on personal taste, I don't consider this best park in Europe (at all). Then if you tell me that merlin and parque reunidos are worse... easy win. The problem is when they promised a 10 couse meal and you end up with 2 small perfectly executed starters only...
@@fabparks Well, I am not an expert, far from it but to me the keywords here seem to be "based on personal taste". Nobody can or should be blamed for personal taste of course. Still, the Efteling is a matter of national pride for the Dutch so you will probably be arrested if you ever enter the Netherlands again. 😉 Take care and keep making those videos, they are fun.
ahahaha - love the getting arrested part! I do understand (much better now) what Efteling represents for Dutch people. On the other hand from an external point of view, the offering might not live up to the fame/hype... but I do understand 100% your point. And no, I don't go to mc'ds. I have experienced quite a lot of international superb restaurants and I am hard to impress...
It was a bit to crowded for me, alot of technical issues. Not so amazing coasters. Baron is good but short. Python is bumpy, you feel its old. Vogelrok is lazy, just pitch black. Max&Moritz is great but its a tame family ride. Yoku is the best dark ride, only for the lenght. Droomvlucht is cool but a long Q. Fata Moragna has a good lenght. Symbolica very nice but it felt very short. 4D cinema was nice. It was nice to see movie no matter what language you speak. Piranha best rapids i experienced. all in all a very good park. But yes overated.
I think the attractions themselves (especially in terms of intensity) are far from desirable, but overall the fairy tale vibes are unique. Is this enough to make it the best theme park in Europe? Nah... .
First of all i can understand why you are a bit negative about Efteling. I had the same experience when i rode Steel vangeance. I was absolutly sure its was gonna be my nr 1 coaster. So i felt very dissapointed that it wasn't ( turned out it was nr 3 on my list at that time and it dropped a couple of spots since then). Wich if i went in blind i would have gone wow what an encredable coaster (in in all fairness it is). So since its my homepark here is my assesment if you are just a great coaster lover this isn't your targeted park. Efteling is probable the best family oriented theme park in the world (i can understand it if you say thats Europapark, wich is my nr 2). Yes disney and Universale do have some better earia's but considering they have a #$%^load of money that would be embaerrassing for them if they hadn't. Efteling is all about the look and feel (and the park isn't looking at its best right now). I do agree that Efteling is sadly lacking in the high thrill department, i don't want them to excell in it thats not what this park is about but sadly lacking is a bit to far to the other side. 1 or 2 decent coasters would solve that problem. And i mean 1 close to elite but not right up there and an STC from vekoma or something simulair would do the trick. Replacing the looper with something like Fonix would round it up nicely.
I think you understood this 100%. When expectations are too high you end up with disappointment. Probably also lots of reviews are "overpositive" and fair enough. I was also told that efteling might require multiple visits to start blending and fully appreciate it. It doesn't wow you with a bang... and to be honest day 2 was already another planet compared to day 1.
@@fabparks Yeah i got that with a lot of parks. The first day is a bit of chasing the atractiosn and once you have done that you can just enjoy. I love the park for just hanging around a couple of hours.
Efteling is great because is not packed if you avoid weekend. Staff is great, everyone is enjoying. Is not only about the attractions themselfs.
Still struggling to figure out where they can fit 6m guests and what are they gonna do...

I 100% get the local engagement and nostalgic vibes. This should not make any reviewers go mad about it though... unless they all have dutch roots 😉
I cannot agree 👍😊
Which is fair enough. Numbers and reviews are there and they shout out loud that this is a great park.
Jenny Nicholson loved it apparently, waiting on her review ⏲️
Statistically 99% falls in love...
Ah well, if you only eat McDonalds your whole life, a 6 course, high standard French meal will probably leave you dissatisfied as well.
